Ive got 2 BPS reels. A Rick Clunn reel I bought in 06 still rockin, and a Johnny Morris Sig Series. Also still going. Smooth as the day I bought it. I love the reel but I moved to Abu because I have tiny hands. I didnt know what I've been missing.

If I only had one bait and one way to rig it? 6" Watermelon Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm texas rigged weightless on 12lb moss green P-Line Floroclear.

Just got back from my Wally with some clearance items. 2 jerk baits, 2 top water jerk baits, 2 poppers, and 3 crank baits. All the YUM products were nothing of interest to me. I would rather buy my producing baits and keep all the "excess" out of my life. Oh and not on sale, I got a KVD Sexy Frog, new Berkley multi tool, and a Berkley digital scale. Pretty good for $48 bucks! Usually when I shop it's at BPS and I cant get out of there with less than $75+ on the register total. I try tho.

I was just curious as to what if any at all jig heads, hooks with moving weight heads, ect to you use for pitching or weighting soft plastics? I personally would rather find a setup for this technique where I dont need to rig a bullet weight and rather have the plastic right on the weighted hook. I am going to be trying this on some Jigzilla jig heads and I also bought some Bass Patrol deflecting jig heads to rig up my creatures for pitching and occasional punching. Pics would be great too. Whats out there? Or should I just be creative like I usually am?

Still ice on lake Arrowhead here in Vermont but I think it may melt off fully today. Not sure what the water temp is but I would imagine mid 30's. I'm going to drive down to the boat access today to check out the situation. I want out so bad! But I'm only here for another month and I'm moving back home to Florida. Impatient! I haven't caught a bass in 11 months!!!

I got my ex into fishing and she became proficient with a baitcaster. Plus she looked hot fishing lols. I am a golfer and so was she. It was great having her involved in the things I loved and enjoying it. Have not dated anyone seriously since but the next one will be fishing also! and hopefully golfing as well.

I feel this way and i'm not sure why. I would love for everyone to enjoy fishing but on the same note, I have had bad experiences. I met a guy in my apartments and we started talking fishing. I then felt comfy enough to tell him about the little secret canal through the woods that I found on the lake, what I catch em on, ect. It wasn't 2 days later and I'm out there and he comes in with his huge boat in the little canal with about 5 guys moving lay downs all over the place, idling the friggin outboard through the canal, dropping anchors, splashing, banging. This canal is big enough fo 2 bass boats side by side max and is through the woods so it is extremely calm and quiet. I then see more people days later than I had ever seen before all throwing my go to baits. Within a month of all this crazyness in my quiet nook of the lake, the bass were so spooked and were extremely hard to catch. They also moved this huge tree that was just below the water at the very entrance of the canal. It was natural and actually acted as a wall to block big boats and only allowing small boats to enter. I was pretty mad. So I moved to another portion of the lake and caught my 11# PB. It just so happens that that one guy kind of followed me out that way and saw me catch this fish. Shortly after that this spot was getting pressured. It was unbelievable. I should have kept my mouth shut.

I get asked ALL the time. I dont like to let my secrets out too much because then they get pressured on my go to baits. I usually respond with a very polite but vague response. "Hey man, what are you using?" - "Oh just a worm." or "Just a little creature bait." I think thats enough info. I had to figure out presentation and color myself. They should too. It makes you a better fisherman. As far as friends go, I tell em exactly what to use and how to use it. I want my buddies to have the best day they can. I have asked a few times but I always tried to be as un intrusive as possible. I ask things like "Is the worm bite on? You guys using creatures? Was that bite on the bottom?". If they wish to indulge me with specific info then great.

God I miss that show. Kids still grew up right in those days lol. OT

I can count the number of fish I have caught of those sizes on one hand. Looks like you had an insane trip.

Usual. 50lb Power Pro Braid, 12lb P-Line Floroclear, and 12lb Trilene XL for top waters.

I took my mom out last year to "bass" fish for the first time during the spawn and we were slaying 2-5lbers all day. She started getting excited and wasnt paying attention on the boat, cranked the rod back to cast, and buried a hook right into the back of my head in the follow through. I was freaking ticked. I got a tad nasty but it was just in the moment and she was so scared and didnt know what to say. I apologized for my words later lol. Luckily the hook hit my head sideways in the skull so it was just barely in the skin. No blood. Oh and once I stepped on a crank bait and got a hook in my heel. Told my buddy to put everything back where it goes and dont leave ANYTHING out. It came out with minimal pain since the heel it pretty resilient. Last time was a friend went to cast and smashed my leg with the bait. Thankfully I was wearing jeans. Out of the three times they were at the fault of somebody else.

Things just got real...

I use the technique almost exclusively with speed worms, jigs, and pitching style baits. Only other 2 techniques I use are to swim it or finesse it. Yoyo'ing is where it's at.

I use Zoom.

Going to be doing MUCH more flipping with jigs this year and flipping more creatures with weights. I also just bought a Z-Man Chatter bait after hearing all this "buzz" about them. Excited to throw that. Other than that... same ole same ole. I tend to do pretty well each year. Over all I am trying to do a bit more technique specific fishing from here on out.

I just bought another STX and Mojo Bass rod today for lighter plastics. I love the two together.

Early morning till 10:30am afternoon till dark. Prime time.

My opinion is upsize a bit and more importantly, fish with determination and patience. Work all areas much more heavily. Almost every single fish over 6lbs that I have caught were done so by fishing the same spot for 5-10 min. my PB was 11.3 Lbs and kept getting very small ticks on the line. Typically I would have moved on but something told me not to. I worked on that fish for 25 minutes and finally got a hook set. Good thing I didn't give up. My PB was caught on a 3/8 Swim jig with a baby brush hog as a trailer... Ooooops! My secret is out!

My opinion is how it feels in the hand along with the technique you are using. When you fish and say "Man this feels so good", you know you are balanced.
