  1. Pro qualifier, Revo S. Rods - Mojo Bass, BPS Carbon Lite, Veritas. There are still good quality items at cheaper though. But thats my 9 cents.
  2. Too much talking and not enough fishing here. I do agree though. A jersey is over the top unless you are actually sponsored. or part of a team. This topic is beating a dead horse as far as golfing go's. We call them "Tour Posers" I think we should all just shut up and fish.
  3. I'm sayin man. I HAVE researched on how to fish these baits and it makes no difference.
  4. I back with cheap 12lb Zebco mono then spool on around 75 yards of braid.
  5. I have tried on numerous occasions to fish a Senko. I have fished it wide gap and wacky. Nothing! Then I slap on my producing plastics and I get bit. What is the deal! Why are so many people swearing by these baits? I know it's not a long time but I tried once for an hour and then switched baits and got bit. I must be the only one. I've got 4 bags of them and they sit and taunt me to throw them.
  6. No sir. I dont do this unless they are under 2 lbs. My rod that broke I was actually lipping a fish while holding the rod tip up and CRACK, but I'm sure the rod was defective. I dont do this at all. I try to lip any fish over 2 lbs. It just does't seem worth it to take the chance. I see some of the guys lifting these fish it with the tip torqued to almost 180 degrees. Just makes me clinch my teeth waiting for the "CRACK"!
  7. I haver personally broken two rods and I wasn't even trying to bring them in the boat using the rod. How is everybody getting away with this without braking their rods? Every YouTube video or on tv has guys hauling in fish one after another with just the rod. It irks the crap out of me. It's becoming an epidemic. I don't remember ever seeing this. I personally would not think bringing in a fish by rod over 2lbs is healthy for it. Unless its a broom stick flippn' rod. Are these guys not braking rods doing this? Or are they just not worried because they have plenty more at home and or warranties in place?
  8. Green Pump, Watermelon, Watermelon Red. Done deal.
  9. Man, reading through this thread, I cant wait. I've been a BPS reel guy for years. I just bought a new Mojo Bass rod and I have my STX arriving on Tuesday along with some other goodies from TW. Sadly, I still have a solid month before the bite will be on here in Vermont. After this summer, I am back in Florida for good.
  10. Yeah there should be a video there. Go to youtube and search "myths about bass". Thumbnail is a gentleman in an orange shirt at a podium.
  11. Great info here as well.
  12. It will bite again. It most likely has a home and it will most likely be back there or in the area. When I caught my 12lber, I thought I lost it too. It went limp for a moment and swam toward my reeling then tugged away. All I gotta say is when you hook a big one, let a little drag out so she can run without breaking the line, keep pressure on it, and bring her home!
  13. Same as most. 2 bass under 1lb each on a crank bait.
  14. Yes! It looks amazing.
  15. Welcome, fellow Floridian.
  16. I picked up a craw crankbait from Dicks for $3. It looks insane. Cant wait to throw it this spring.
  17. Ive done it once in a new pong when locating a deep sand bar.
  18. I left mine at factory setting. Then I adjusted to lure weight, then adjusted magnetic knob.
  19. I'm going to go to Wal-Mart in the morning to see. Those prices are ridiculous. I hope my Wal-Mart is on drugs to.
  20. I have a few of those LOL. They work good.
  21. I was actually looking at this thread earlier when doing a little research. I bought an S a week ago but did not do much research. I am a Abu noob. First Abu reel. I did some research and decided to take back my S and get the STX. I have not used either yet! I liked the additional bearings and the Dual Braking System in the STX. Well worth a little extra doe'age.
  22. This is always a great thread. Post up what you got... pics and videos too! It was a big day for me. Tackle Warehouse order. Revo STX, Mojo Bass rod, some soft plastics, line, Jig heads, new softbait storage system, and some apparel. I'll do a little unboxing vid when it all comes. Those are always fun. What did YOU buy today?
  23. I just put in in the trade section. You can use it for a ton of things but I have changed the make-up of my setups so I can't really use it at this point.
