I'm An Idiot! LOL
Ok well I have been using baitcasters for nearly 12 years. Funny thing is... I just figured out what the knob under the drag does. I know I know... what a jackass right!!!? I said the same thing lol. : Question is, Which should I fine tune for bait switches. I use 1 rod and reel when I fish so I switch baits often. Should I fine tune the brake or the spool pressure when switching heavy to light? :-/ I messed with it a bit today. I had on a 3/8 jig and chunk and fine tuned my reel for it. It was awesome. Then I put on a weitless brush hog, changed the spool tension but not the brakes and was getting slightly birds nested. Then messed with brakes and had lowsy distance. The best setup was when it was setup for my heavy jig. The lack of weight didnt change anything exept I had to throw it harder. Insight??? BTW... BPS Johnny Morris Signature Series in 6:4:1

Finesse Baitcasting Reels
All you need is a nice reel that casts well. I have fished weitless plastics for a loooong time and have learned what to do with the rod tip and not the reel. AND I have been using 6'0's. Just get a good reel and practice with it bro.

Mono To Braid And Back To Mono Grrrrr
Well I have used the Trilene XL 10lb for around 6 years and always loved it. Until I tried 20lb Power Pro braid. I loved the braid cuz it casted awesome, sensitive, and strong. But I seem to have problems setting hooks! It's like I cant feel it right. I get used to all the pulls and nicks on sticks and such and when I do have a fish on it's too late. Then I fished a topwater and got slammed on 4 times in 10 min and didnt get oe single hook set. It was like the fish would not "hook it's self" like it used to. There is no give in braid and that has become a problem for me. I need to feel that fish on then WHAM!! set the hook. I went back to my 10lb mono. Anyone else experience this at all or am I rediculous?

Re: favorite bass angler
I dont think the pros are any "better" fisherman than the average serious angler. I think the pros catch more fish because they spend alot of time researching, learning, and have a ton of equipment that most of us do not such as top of the line depth finders, ect... If we all had the same resources that the pros do and the drive to fish well, I think we could all catch as many or more fish. I do like Rick Clunn tho. Very educated and talented at angling. His reel is noce too lol.

After The Heavy Rain???!!
Well you think a slow presentation is better or faster?

After The Heavy Rain???!!
The spot I fish is a canal maybe 10 feet max. All through are logs and by shore, heavy bushes. They wouldnt hit a THING! Tried shollow and deep. I seriously think that alot had fallen in the water and they are kinda full. Either that or I really suck lol

After The Heavy Rain???!!

A Stud or Numbers?
#1 I can wait for the lunkers. Catching them in the 2lb range is still a blast!

After The Heavy Rain???!!
Well it has been raining for 4 days straight here in central Florida and we finally had a break today so I went out to my usual spot that produces a TON of bass. Today I went out. Very cloudy and overcast. The water temp has droped maybe 2 degrees and a bit more stain. The water level has raised through the canal around 7 inches and there is a slight current from the rainfall through the canal. I tried a Senko watermellon red sparkle, I tried a black with green sparkle brush hog, and I tried a chartuse spinner bait. Fished for 2 hours and only had 1 bite and I think it was a gar. Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Did they move deeper? Did they move into shallow by the banks? I have a feeling they have eaten ALOT from all the rain storms and are full? HELP!!! :'( :'( :'(

baitcaster vote, daiwa tierra or shimano citica 200e
I have the Rick Clunn. Amazing reel for the money! I also upgraded the the Johnny Morris Sig Series and love it even more. The drag on the JM is not very high but thats ok with me. That reel is awesome too!

New Strike King "Shim E Stick" Review
I did guys lol. I rigged it strait to line. I will let ya know if it twists up. I may fish today.

All around rod?
I have a Johnny Morris Sig Series BC. Right now it's on a 6'0 Shimano Soujou or whatever. Medium action. I have been thinking I need to go with a 6'6 MH. I fish everything from weightless plastics to heavy spinnerbaits. I love how short the 6'0 is but I think I need to grow up and go bigger and a bit heavier. What do you guys think?

New Strike King "Shim E Stick" Review
Well I went into Walmart this evening to pick up a few things and ran across these. Strike King "Shim E Stick" soft worms. They came in various color choices but I decided to go with the Watermelon Red & Black. Watermelon seed color with some red sparkles in there. $2.98 for an 8 pack They look almost identical to the Senko worm but I will not spend $7.00 for a 10 pack. Plus the Senkos rip VERY easily. Yes I know it is because they are salt injected but I wont spend that much for a bait that I replace every bite I get. It would cost me around $20 per day of fishing with these things. The Strike Kings Shim E Stick's seem to be MUCH tougher than the Senko's and more bendy. They also have a decent weight to them so no need for a weight. My Johnny Morris Baitcaster threw this bait with ease! I also rinsed the salt off them because these things are LOADED with salt all over them and it's a mess. The salt is gone on the first cast anyways so it doesn't matter. I gave the bait after rinsing all the salt off a little taste with my toung and WOW. Still really salty!!! I also picked up the Lazer Sharp 5/0 wide gaps for these. You could go bigger but I think these will do just fine. I took the Shim E Stick to my pool to check out the action on both a texas rig and a wacky rig. While hooked up texas style, it fell just like the Senko and had the same "wiggle" as she dropped. While rigged wacky, it had a bit more wiggle to it. Very great looking presentation and the biggest 2 plus's to it, 1/3 of the price and more durable! I would recommend picking these up asap if you like Senko's.

Drag, how to set correctly
I will catch a small bass and adjust it with the fish on the line. That way I know what my drag does when I'm hooked up to a small one. I also have Power Pro Braided so I set my drag lower than normal to compensate for the lack of stretch in the line. I am so used to really rippin it when I set the hook from mono and I cant shake that habit so with the braided, I leave my drag a bit lower so when I give it a good lip rip, I dont destroy the fish's face.

is fishing your "main" thing?
Actually surfing is my main thing. I also ride motocross, golf, and a few other hobbies. Actually it goes in phases. But fishing is a close second.
