  1. State- Florida / 2009 Water Depth- 2-3 feet Lure/Technique- 3/8 Strike King Swimming Jig / Green, brown with a standard size Zoom Brush Hog in Bullfrog as a trailer. Structure/Cover- Directly at a drainage outlet into a lake. Small pocket at the base of the outlet next to bushes/sticks/trees. Weight and/or girth- 11.3 lbs / 28' length, 18' girth GPS image... If you were wondering in the photos how I was standing on water, I was standing on the shallow sand bar. I had a feeling about this spot and I kept getting these little tiny nibbles. I casted at this fish for 20 min and finally hooked up. Was caught right before sun down in mid summer.
  2. It is. Look at the black spot and line at the very bottom of the gill.
  3. I like Gamagatsu 4/0 EWG Superline hooks. I've seen this as well so I would be interested to hear the responses here.
  4. I'de take Glenn to my secret canal. Catch some ridiculous fish and pick his brain a bit.
  5. Idk... 50 yards? Never really crossed my mind.
  6. You wouldnt believe the weather in Vermont today. It's going to be a solid month before the bass get active. Thank goodness I am back home in Florida in 3 weeks in counting!
  7. Very nice. Now comes the quest to break 8 lbs.

  9. It's a casting rod but I use a Mojo Bass 7' M/F for all my weightless plastics. I love it. Paired up on a Revo STX it's an awesome combo. Did a little poking around on the *** Black rods... Looks real nice! I'de love to get one in my hands to check it out.
  10. For me it's the lack of control of where I want to fish and not being able to fish out front. Passenger never gets to fish out the roomy front.
  11. Nope. I am a believer that the science of what I am doing, where I am fishing, what lure and color I am using, and the weather are much more legitimate than a superstition. But when I go surfing, I always have a little "talk" with the sharks as I paddle out for the first time. I say "I am here to enjoy your ocean. Leave me be and I will leave you be." Reason I do this is because I have been accosted twice. Sharks deserve the utmost respect. On that note of superstition, I refuse to shark fish now. I use to love it but after being accosted twice, I will not do it out of respect. I would rather keep my good karma going with the men in the grey suits. Life threatening experiences do weird things to the human psyche and bring spirituality and superstition into play as being legitimate.
  12. I think that $100 range is the sweet spot for great quality rods. Veritas, Mojo Bass, Carbon-Lite, ect. Cant go wrong with that $100 range. I have made my entire arsenal Mojo Bass rods and I love em.
  13. All my hobbies go on the back burner to others. I cycle between lol. I go hard at golf and fishing/surfing goes kind of back burner. I go hard at surfing and fishing/golf goes on back burner. I go hard at fishing, surfing/golf goes on back burner. I have such passion for my hobbies that I cannot possibly spend the money and or time on all of them at once. I just got out of my "golf phase" for awhile and am hitting fishing pretty hard. But I am starting to itch with golf again as well as I have not been surfing in 3 years due to a relocation. I have a feeling surfing is next then back to golf. Maybe a little both. Boy, I need to find balance lol. How the hell can you work full time, go to school, have a social life, be single, fish, surf and play golf?! I have to cycle the hobbies. I am a musician too but I dont really see that as a hobby, more of something I make time for like brushing my teeth or showering. I always find a little time to pick up the guitar during the day.
  14. Last haul before I move back to Florida. I am now ready! 3 pk Rage Tail Anacondas 3 pk Rage Tail Space Monkeys 8 Strike King Flipping jigs 25 pk Gamagatsu Superline 4/0 hooks 2 pk Brush Hogs 4 3/8 tungsten bullet weights 1 pk Culprit Incedi-Craws (stoked to pitch these) 2 pk Zoom 7' Ultravibe Worms 2 3/4 tungsten bullet weights 4 crank baits 2 Heddon Torpedos All I have left to buy is 2 Revo S reels and one more Mojo Bass rod and I'm straight as a gate.
  15. I know you said you have a rod, but you ALWAYS need more combos. I cant fish efficiently with less than 5. They have the PQ/CarbonLite combo going for $169. Hellova deal IMO! If I hadn't switched to the Revo line because of my girly sized hands, I'de pick up at least 3 of these combos. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-reg-Pro-Qualifier-reg-Reel-CarbonLite-trade-Trigger-Rod-Baitcast-Combos/product/12041705055310/ I absolutely love my Johnny Morris Signature Series reel but after using the Revo, I can't hold that huge reel lol. Cursed with baby hands.
  16. Get the PQ. It is on sale for $79 right now!
  17. I just run that braid till it starts getting pale then I re spool. I have tried KVD on it and noticed no real difference. Maybe kept color a tad longer.
  18. Some decent fish! Congrats.
  19. Try a Watermelon or Pumpkin Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm texas rigged weightless on a 4/0 wide gap and use the "Yoyo" technique. Pull bait up in a smooth motion, reel in slack and let it fall. Pull bait up, reel in slack, let it fall. Pull up, let it fall. This works WONDERS for me in ponds! Also get a decent spinning setup for pond fishing. Spinning reel, 8-10lb test, 7' M/F rod.
  20. I enjoyed it. Especially when Ike flipped out again lol. That guy's great. I've been watching it on demand. Waiting for the next one.
  21. 5 hours and this video sums up my whole day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0SpI1QTDX4 How are you NY guys catching fish already? It's DEAD in Vermont!
  22. Your tat looks like a craw LOL
  23. I'm moving back home to Florida in a month but it's going to be 79 degrees on Thursday so I'm gonna give it one more shot. Maybe I'll throw a spinner bait.
