  1. Ok so i want to use braid this year and i need a new reel anyways so i figure this would be the right time to try braid. The only problem is i don't know what would be a good reel to use. Any suggestions under $100 would be great. Thanks guys. Joe
  2. @pondboss: Yea, using the White bait was amazing. depending the water, you can see it for miles in the water lol and if the fish just scoops it up, you will see it. This pond i'm at, i am killing the dinks but can not find the big mamas. Since reading HP's 50 steps, i was alot more cautious today walking around the lake. Now a different question for everyone. Do pre-spawn fish bust schooling shad on the surface or is that a post spawn thing? Joe
  3. @downeaster. A White Zoom lizard is what ive been doing alot of my damage on, it was the bait i caught the 10 pounder on. Green Pumpkin Zoom finesse worm was killing the dinks tonight. I'll remember what you said tho, thank you. Joe
  4. Well guess my picture didn't make it, I'll load it up when I get back to my hotel room.
  5. I'll make this quick since I'm at class. Thank you all for your replies. Since I'm at training right now, I don'treally have the right clothes with my to blend in. II'll have to remember the walk cautiously part and stay away from the bank. I've already scored once at this pond. 10lber would be my guess. I'll reply later in full to a few more questions I have. Thanks again
  6. Hey guys. I'm fishing a small lake in AR and 2 days ago i was walking the bank and came across 2 good size females that were 15 ft from the bank and 30 yards apart, the water is clear. the 1st one appeared to be hovering over/near a bed with a small male within a foot. This female would spook very easy but always come back to the same spot. I know it is hard to ask over the internet but why do you think she was so spooked and is she catchable? I spent about an hour trying to catch her before giving up and going to the next fish. The 2nd bass was 2 feet from her bed which was a old tire someone threw in the lake. There was a small male guarding this bed. I probley spend 2 hrs trying to get her to bite but no go. She would nose down to it and circle around it. I even bumped her a few times trying to get a reaction bite but no go. This morning i went back out there and the 1st fish was gone but the 2nd was still there. I caught the 2nd fish's male 1st thing because yesterday there were a few times when the female were nose down to the bait and then the small male would get her attention and she would swim away. But once i caught the male, she disappeared for 30 mins and then came back. I was using a 3/16 bullet weight and w 1/0 worm hook zoom white lizard t-rig. Any ideas on why the fish was spooked would be great. Thanks guys Joe
  7. Real quick, are there any good spots to bank fish near Little Rock AFB/AR. I'll be there for 3 weeks and want to do some fishing. I've looked on Googlemaps and noticed Lake Conway, Greers Ferry lake and some local ponds are close to the AFB. Any help will be great. Thanks Joe

  9. Thanks guys for your input. It has help in my decisions to keep them in the original package. Joe
  10. Hey guys, This topic has probley been brought up so forgive me if so but is there any advantage or disadvantage to keeping soft plastics in zip lock bags instead of the original package? Thanks Joe
  11. Cool guys thanks. I didn't know so many people did this. All I got is a black sharpie so I'll make that work for my hi vis white braid.
  12. i have a spincast for him with 6 lb test i think. i re-spooled it for him this past Jan. I remember at wal-mart seeing pencil bobbers. I'll go there and pick them up along with the right hooks. I will try nightcrawlers 1st and see how that goes. At this time i'm nursing a knee injury so this gives me plenty of time to prep everything. Thanks everyone.
  13. Thank you NoBassPro and a huge thanks to BlueBasser86! your post was just what i was looking for, good on you. one question, you said something about a split shot, will that weight cause the bobber to sink? and just to clarify, i place the split shot right under the bobber? I can't wait to take him out, he always ask when we drive by a pond if we can go fishing, he will be excited. I hope i do make a life long fishing partner with him. Thanks again!
  14. Real worms or plastic? If plastic, what size?
  15. Hey guys, my son is 5 and he is a little inpatient to try and bass fish so I want to teach him how to fish bluegill, well the only problem is I've never fish for bluegill. So I wanted to get all of your thoughts in this. What size line, what technique, what are the best baits/lures (also include size for lures) when is the best time? Best locations from the shore etc etc. any help will be great. Thanks guys.

  17. Thanks junkyard. Can anyone else put there 2 cents in about this?
  18. Hey guys I was wondering if braid color makes a differents. I just changed from moss green to high vis white so I could see it better what fishing. Does anyone know if white stick out like a sore thumb under the water? Thanks
  19. Hey guys. I was wondering if braid col
  20. Hey guys. I have a 7 foot rod that I use for spinnerbaits and top water. I'm switching from mono to braid but I'm not 100% sure what size braid I should put on there. I won't be using this rod for heavy duty use in the muck, mostly spinnerbaits, buzz baits, jigs and the occasional frog here and there. Thanks guys.
  21. This is creepy. Looks like Nic Cage
  22. I love throwing t-rig sweet beavers. Probley my most productive setup. Other than that, I'm working on everything else btw. I've started catching them off shakey head trick worms
  23. Jigs, buzz baits, I've only caught 1 on spinnerbaits, t-rig worms, frogs, and since I've picked up fishing again about this time last year only 1 on cranks lmao. I know there is a lot but no luck with them.
  24. WOW thank you everyone for replying. It sounds like 7' MH/F is where to go for this. Has anyone else noticed that wal-mart are now carrying Skeet Reese and KVD tour rods? SR are going for $89 and KVD for $129. Just thought that was strange to see. Thanks again everyone.
