  1. That makes since. I've never looked at mine close enough to realize they had a serial number on them.
  2. It's still not clear to me whether or not they denied the Xpeditor service but if they did so have a friend send it back under the Xpeditor service when you get your rod back!
  3. In the Rico or Rio Rico?
  4. Could someone recommend to me 2 good colors for the Lobinas Rico baits? I only fish Tennessee lakes and the Tennessee river.
  5. I do some bowfishing and I think the best beginner setup is a browning barracuda setup. You could go with a recurve but I would definitely get an AMS retriever system bow reel or you will have to constantly wined your line up every time you shoot. Any compound will do but typically you don't want to shoot much more than a 40 pound bow because the power behind the bow will damage your arrows when they hit stuff or get stuck in things. Also constantly pulling it back will wear you out if you go much over 40. You will want to put "no gloves" on your bow string also or it will wear your fingers out unless youo use a release but a release isn't recommended for bowfishing. The main difference in bowfishing bows and a normal compound is that bowfishing bows have no let off. They pull back like a compound bow which allows for snap shots and shots that don't require you to be at full draw. There are several good bowfishing forums out there that can guide you in the right direction if you want to check them out. It is a lot of fun and can become addicting! Good luck. PM me if you have anymore questions.
  6. My favorite is Eric Church "love your love the most". My favorite part is where he throws in the line about small mouth fishing.
  7. Any costas with 580 lenses, preferably copper (glass)
  8. I would go with any type of fluorocarbon preferably (10lbs Vanish) over mono on a baitcast setup except for on a buzzbait or spinnerbait setup since those baits stay near the surface and you don't want the flourocarbon making it harder for them to stay up since flourocarbon sinks faster. I use mono on spinning reels but would never go back to mono on baitcasters except for specific applications that are better suited for mono. To me flouro is just alot easier to manage. That's just my opinion.
  9. Was there anything special done to this pond to produce bass that big or did they just stock it and the fish grew to that size? Those are some huge bass!
  10. Here's the pic of the big fish for the day.
  11. We had a great day. I did catch the biggest smallie but I will say that I wasn't a believer about the 6lb yozuri hybrid vs. the 8lb making that much of a difference until this weekend. Roadwarrior wore me out about 15 to 3 on smallies! I'm changing out my line this week and will see how it goes.
  12. They retail from 200 to 220 but Bronzefly has some nice Shimano Cumara's up for sale for 175-185. I have one and love it. I have a MH 6' 8" extra fast. My next one will be the MH 7' 2" extra fast. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1257172384
  13. I have a hummingbird depth finder on my bass tracker. The transducer is located on the trolling motor. I might upgrade it later on but so far have just used it to determine different depths. My question is when you see structure under the water on your depth finder where is it actually located under the water? Is it a couple of feet in front of the boat or what?
  14. If you do get wet or sweat cotton will not keep your body warm. I like to use polypropylene as my first layer.
  15. I like the net bait paca sr.
  16. Order it from Cabelas. It's cheap enough compared to other lines to buy several spools. Roadwarrior suggested using this for spinning gear and I tried it and loved it. I use 10lb flouro vanish for bait casters though.
  17. Costa Del Mar with copper glass 580 lenses. Just try a pair on the next time you are somewhere that deals these sunglasses and you will be amazed. Any of the 580 lenses are awesome.
  18. I guess now I just have to decide on what I like best. Thanks guys for all the helpful information and suggestions.
  19. After looking at swimbaits I don't see myself using anything other than baits like the mattlures blue gill series, jackall swimming ninja, paddle tail lures, and others of this size and type. But, who knows since I know nothing about it. If I went with a heavier rod would it still give those baits the action they need or should i go with the SWBR904 if those are the lures I plan on using for now and just get another setup down the road if it comes to that? Matt and Bronzefly is this the reel that you guys use and like? http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SC3ER.html
  20. So.... the 955 paired with the Pluton would make an all around good swimbait rod for most all swimbaits and for targeting stripers?
  21. I would like to get a swimbait rod to target big bass and striper. I think I'm going to purchase one in the spring and would like some opinions from those who are experienced with these. I know nothing about fishing swim baits and do not own any. I know very little about striper but have gone a time or to and caught a couple. I'm looking at maybe getting a Daiwa Pluton and putting it on a G. Loomis Swim bait Rod 904 7'6" Medium or a G. Loomis Swim bait Rod 953 7'11" Medium. I have no idea what size swimbaits I will be throwing or what size I need to be throwing. I will be fishing mostly on the river below a dam in current for the striper and probably stick to the river for fishing for the bass with swim baits. Any help would be appreciated.
  22. I fish cranks with an 843 and an 847. I use the 843 to for cranking bandits, bombers, etc. that dive up to about 5 or 6 ft. deep. I also use it for the Lucky Craft 100 jerk baits. You could get away with throwing bigger baits on this rod it will just put a lot more strain on it. I don't use the 847 a whole lot only because I don't throw big crank baits very often. I don't think you could go wrong with the 843 or 845 but the 843 is one of my personal favorites. I have mine paired with a daiwa sol and it is an awesome setup.
  23. Thanks for the comparisons. Steezy do you think the Core50 would make a good jig reel?
  24. I'm looking at getting a Steez, Core 50, or Core 100. I plan on putting whichever one I get on a Cumara CUC-X72MH rod. I already have a 6' 8" cumara MH X-Fast paired with a Daiwa sol for finesse fishing. This new setup will be primarily for throwing jigs but would like to do some finesse fishing and possibly some other types with it. It's my understanding that the Core 50 and the Steez are more of a finesse reel and the Core 100 is for flipping and pitching. I think I'd rather have the Core50 because it is the lightest and the newest but I just need someone that has used them to tell me that the Core 50 will work fine for jigs up to a 1/2 ounce or that it won't and I should go with the Core 100. Or if anyone uses a steez for this and recommends it over the Shimano line. Please give me some recommendations or opinions.
  25. What are you guys opinions on fiberglass boats such as Tritons, Rangers, Nitros, etc. vs a 17 or 18 ft. aluminum triton, tracker, grizzly, war eagle boat, not a bass tracker, more than likely a duck boat packaged out for fishing. I feel like a fiberglass boat would start to look older faster and would probably not last near as long for me. I fish lakes and rivers mainly but go up in creeks also. I'd like to eventually start getting involved in local tournaments also. Do the guys with the nice fiberglass boats go up into the banks and get their lures or do they just break the line. I guess I think I would enjoy fishing out of a fiberglass boat more in the beginning and utilize all the storage a fiberglass bass boat has and would love getting around to different areas much faster with a 150-200hp engine vs a 75 but am afraid I will tear it up and 5 years from now and aluminum boat would still be in much better shape with less upkeep. What are you guys thoughts and opinions on this that have had both or had to make this decision also.
