I have been there three times this week. Today sucked! The south end was dirty. The other two days produced about 60 fish and the water clarity was good.

2 Days On Lake Okeechobee
Fished Lake Okeechobee a couple of times this week. Yesterday I fished with fellow Bass Resource member, Tom Behr. Fishing was great. Tom got us deep inside the sawgrass by busting his own trails. I can tell you that without a GPS we might still be inside of that maze. Tom worked a Zoom Fluke and I used a Gambler Big EZ. Slow presentations were the ticket. Somewhere around 30 fish in the boat including a 7.90 #'er. Here is the previous day. We were fishing in the "pencil grass" fields. This grass was so heavy and thick that it was extremely difficult to actually get the fish in the boat. Looking across the grass you would think it was a foot of water but it was actually 4-5 feet deep.

Lake Okeechobee Info?
You would be better served if you would inquire in the "South East" section on this forum. Those guys regularly fish the "O". I'am going tomorrow but to the south end. Good luck.

South Florida Shore Fishing
Since your in Ft. Myers I would go to the L-28 a.k.a. "The Interceptor" canal. It is located on the Miccosukee Reservation on Alligator Alley. The exit is on the bridge so you have to be looking for it. It is a mile or so west of the snake road exit. You can google earth it and take a look. That canal is bad *** and long. I would go north a few miles on the dirt road to the lock and start there. Even though its indian land you are allowed to fish it. There are some MONSTA bass in there. Shoot me a message if you need more help. there are alot of alligators but since you live here i'am sure you are used to them.

Palm Beach County Snakehead Fishing
For guaranted snakes hit the Hillsborough and C-14 canals. These canals both have good ramps and plenty of fish. Use Google earth to pinpoint the ramps. In C-14 you will find minor canals that have neighborhoods on them...these are where I would start. Hillsborough canal is straight and no minor canals. Head west and fish back to the ramp.

Anybody Know These Guys?
I'll bet they were some hard fighters! Great looking fish.

They are everywhere. Just start throwing and walking. Use Google earth to find your boat ramps. The more obscure and out of the way...the better.

First Time On Lake Okeechobee
After hearing about the fantastic fishing on the west wall at lake Okeechobee I just had to get a taste. My buddy, Capt. Bud R., and I loaded up and took off. It took us less than two hours to get there. The wind was a gusty 15-20 out of the north east and we were on the south end It was white capping on the lake so we stayed tight to the backside of the rim canal. We had intended to toss frogs but used heavier spinner baits instead. Within 30 minutes Bud had 2 good fish in the boat. We boated another 6 fish before we had enough of the wind. We ate a burger at Roland Martin's place and headed back home. I can't wait to get back up there. That place is incredible! Another friend was bass fishing Markham Park off Alligator Alley west of Ft. lauderdale today. He was using 10 braid with a 20# leader. He hooked and landed this beautiful freshwater tarpon. He guestimated it at around 50#'s. Can you imagine fishing for bass and hooking into this beast!

Since your on foot this place is not the one you want. Try US 441 in PBC. Yoou can easily walk that bank and catch fish.
