  1. Go Time pretty much said it. I think it's a scam. If it ran great, then the carbs wouldn't need cleaned. Those engines don't run very well at all with dirty carbs. I'd call the guy and play dumb to see if he's honest just for kicks.
  2. I'm about to go thru this myself. I only have about 4" of unobstructed space at the transom (I don't have a jack plate). Is that enough space for the transducer to do it's job?
  3. I was just wondering if anyone knew him. I may be all wet here but, I think it would be a great opportunity for him to maybe film an episode of spring bass fishing at Kenlake. I don't think it'd be a tough sell to get him to get himself some exposure to -what I think is- his core customer base. Bass Resource has 31000 bass fishing members. That's a pretty focused group of customers for a guy like him. We are the guys buying the products he promotes, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Berkley, Ranger, etc, etc. If you ask me, He would be near the top of my wish list of speakers. I would certainly think that SOMEBODY at this forum has a connection to him. Let's shake the tree and see what falls out. Notice I said "near" the top of my list. I'm really excited to listen to Big "O", I'm a rage tail nut. Too bad Deb's already taken, she's my kinda gal! I wouldn't have to hide my "bait monkey addiction" from her! ;D ;D ;D
  4. Last year I was busting whites like crazy on a mepps "long mino " in-line spinner, size zero. It's the one with the little artificial minnow in the hook.

  6. Anyone know Hank Parker? Maybe he'll give a little talk. See if he's interested in coming to Kenlake. Ya never know, he might just film an episode of Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine when he comes. The answer's always no, 'till you ask!
  7. LOL... Thanks Birddog! Very helpful ;D
  8. Before I ask this dumb question I'll let you all know that you're free to dogpile here for my laziness. I know that I can search and probably find the answer, but it's so much easier to just ask you all and get an answer delivered to my post. Let the piling begin... Question... What does the HB 998 have that the 997 (with the free upgraded software) does not have?
  9. I switch with BC gear, Don't switch with spinning gear. BC righty. Spinning lefty. I have NO idea why that is. I guess it's just more comfortable that way for me.
  10. Great interview Glenn. Sounds like Jerry is the right guy. It's exciting to hear his plans for B.A.S.S. I hope he is successful.
  11. When pond fishing, stay back from the bank, tread lightly, be stealthy. Pond fish spook easily and will shut down on you in a second.
  12. We don't have threadfin shad up here, so most of my baits look like gizzard shad or bluegill. I think I'm gonna stock up on a few threadfin looking baits for the trip. Oh, and Rhino, I got some Sledheads in 4/0 (1/8, 1/4, & 3/8 ozs.), but no 2/0. Do you use a lot of 2/0 sizes too? 4/0 is a little bigger than I generally use.
  13. Perfect. Just what I like. FAT FISH!
  14. Is he going to take one of the two spots you have on that list? I guess he is. I didn't see that there were two spots on the list. I swear I'm losing my mind. :-/
  15. You can add one more attendee. My bro-in-law is coming with me. I told me that if he wants to go on this awesome trip, he's gotta join bassresource.com. He said he will as soon as he gets back from Australia. Oh, and he's gonna be sending you the signed registration form too Mike.
  16. They're great for panfish, but they aren't very good in the river where there's a lot of snags. I've broken a few hooks at the first bend when trying to unsnag them. I use fireline on my river rods. It has NO stretch, so the hook is taking all the force. I've also never caught anything over 3lbs on them. I've since gotten away from that style hook.
  17. If you're gonna get into tube fishing, you should know how to rig a "stupid tube". Google it for the instructions on rigging it. It's pretty slick.
  18. There ya go again RW, making sense.
  19. While fishing in the river, I snagged the head of a dead 10 point buck. Got it to the boat and all that was left was the head and two front legs. Took the antlers and mounted them on the front of my 1974 Cadillac. (ok, so I embellished it a little on the last part. I don't really have a Caddy. It just popped into my head and I couldn't resist.)
  20. Did I read that right CJ? Did Kenlake just go thru a shad kill? If so, will that affect the 2011 Roadtrip fishing?
  21. What are your plans to keep all that timber from floating away?
  22. Sure! I'd love it if it ever got to 65 degrees and all the ice melted in December up here in Indiana!
  23. You cound have a Bris Milah for your rod and make sure all your friends and family are over. Anyhow...not real sure why all the hate on the color...it is back and blue. I dont hate my jigs that are the same color... For what they cost, they should come already circumsized.
  24. I'm gonna call EZ-Loader and get more info and pricing on the brakes. I'll let yall know what they say.
  25. I wish they made them without foregrips.
