Navplanner2 & Kentucky Lake
I think the only thing that you can transfer into your HB is waypoints, right Rhino? Waypoints would be all I'd need anyway.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
That's sorta what I was planning to do. I'm really excited to put this together and see if I can get some results. I think Rhino has got me talked into the navplanner2. I'm getting a big bonus at work in March. That's gonna add SI and a bigger TM to my boat. I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve that can't go to sleep. If my kids could read this, they'd be laughing at me.

Ethanol ruling
Is the outboard motor industry doing anything to produce motors that are safe for use with higher ethanol levels? It would be nice to not have to worry about this issue in the future.

Well yes, what I call shallow. The rising water puts a lot of cover that was once unavailable in the water. It never fails. The majority of the bass go back, no matter the surface temps. If the elevation stays down, that's no problem either, maybe better for some cause the fish will stay congregated yet that could be hit or miss. I will give more specific info in person once you arrive. I'm very open to the BR crew but I am a tournament fisherman and I cant post detailed reports on here. I'll respond to PM's when time gets closer but even a lure list would be overwhelming. I will say this and not to plug for any sponsors but, Rage Craws in Falcon Craw color is a sure bet! Regardless of water elevation, t-rigs, small cranks like DT-6 and 100 and 200 Bandits should be good. We'll just have to see how Spring pans out. Thanks CJ. I really appreciate any info I can get. I completely understand your not wanting do divulge a lot of info. I wouldn't either in your shoes. Although I've been bass fishing for over 30 years, I'm relatively new to the concept of "putting the puzzle together" on strange waters. Most of my bass fishing has come on very familiar local lakes and farm ponds, mainly small waters. So the "puzzle" to me is much easier. As a rule, I generally don't do very well on bigger, unfamiliar waters. This is an area of my expertise that I really want to improve. Maybe when we get to KY lake, I'll have a plan put together for you local experts to critique and change so I can learn a little more.

CJ, So does higher water tend to chase the fish shallow? How does it USUALLY affect the fish?

Shad Shad Shad
A nearby lake has a gluttony of shad and IMO it is not as good of a fishery now as it used to be before the shad when the DNR stocked it with trout. The fishing is so much more difficult now because you have to stay on the schools of shad. They move so fast, and unless they're on the surface, it's nearly impossible to follow them. This may change this spring when I add SI to my boat.

Found the Reel!
A sad, old man was sitting on a park bench when along came a police officer. The officer asked the old man why he was so upset. The old man replied, "Every morning I wake up with a wonderful 20 year old blonde. She cooks great meals including sausage, and bacon and everything I love. Then we make passionate love in bed. Afterwards, she gives me a bath, with handdrawn hot water, cooks me lunch and followed by more passionate love. In the evening, we'll have top the day off with a fantastic diner and yet more wonderful love. The police officer gets a puzzled look on his face and asks, "Well, what seems to be the problem?" The old man replied with a sad look on his face, "I can't remember where I live!"

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I'm working out the devilish little details so I can attend this year. I think it's gonna work out, so, Lets think CATCHING at KY lake... Lets get the dock talk started. Who would you guys say is the best Kentucky lake guy? Like Catt is for Toledo Bend. I know nobody's THAT good, but who's the closest? AND...... If you are named here as "one of the best KY Lake guys", would you be willing to be prodded relentlessly with KY lake specific questions? Nominations? Volunteers?

Downscan and bass school
Or, my I add, someone to do a Catt-style thread "seminar" on fishing Kentucky lake in, say, April, like the 17th to the 22nd...pickin' up what I'm puttin' down? Great pic by the way. can't wait till soft water returns.

This reel will top the chart this year...
Amen to that brother Add me to this list. Even if I had an endless stream of cash to spend on fishing gear, there's no spinning reel worth that kinda cash. Diawa, Shimano, super ultra custom whatever, it doesn't matter, it's a waste IMO.

Weigh of my bass boat
OK I live in Rhode Island...what is this grain elevator you soeak of?? I have a HUGE landfill in my town..suppose i could weigh it there!!! ;D Landfill, grain elevator, gravel pit, feed store, basically anywhere there's a drive-on style scales. In Indiana, we have grain, LOTS of grain. So grain elevators are as common here as landfills are in Rhode Island. ;D

Now what do I do?
I tried this skipping thing. HEH! I'm an expert already!! You should see that bait skip across the ice!! I can skip it forever!

Weigh of my bass boat
The best way I've found is to go to the nearest grain elevator and get it weighed. If you live close enough it's really easy. Most elevators will weigh your rig for free. Just pull on the scales and they'll print out a ticket for you. I'd call first and ask permission, and also find out when they're not busy. Sometimes there's an hour wait if a lot of farmers are hauling grain that day.

Storage/Trim?
I've been storing my boat with the motor trimmed down since I've owned it. My mechanic said there's no issues with it. I always store the boat with the transom straps and the bow strap released and slack just so everything's "at rest". This does allow the boat to rock a little when bumped, and the skeg sometimes bumps the floor lightly. I've actually moved the boat around in the garage by hand a few times and had the skeg bump the floor lightly. I just hit the trim button on the bow a few times to keep it from dragging. My skeg is in near perfect condition and I've never had a problem. Also, when returning from the lake and I unstrap the boat and trim the motor down, I always get a little water that runs out of the prop exhaust onto the garage floor.

Overwhelmed
X2 for the Yammie SHO. My pro buddy just got his last fall and all I can say is... HOLY SMOKES! I'd have one if it didn't cost more than my entire boat to upgrade. If you can afford it, GET IT.
