  2. I am 15 ( almost 16) and in the process of teaching myself to bass fish. Its a fun challenge away from saltwater.

  5. Well..... I was on a budget, and for reasons undisclosed ( ), I had to buy retail. I was looking for a spinnerbait/light, VERY little cover jig rod and reel. I now have an All Star Platinum 6'6" Extra Fast, Medium casting rod and a Pflueger Templar baitcasting reel spooled with 15 lb Hybrid. The Templar is a Walmarty version of the Echelon, seems slightly upgraded. against my better judgement, this is my first Pflueger. It perform nice enough in the back yard...
  6. HEY MAN... Im 15!!! NOT COOL ;D ;D ;D
  7. Light braid, if tied with a knot, can actually slice through the fc. But, be careful not to reel the swivel into the rod tip! - bye bye, guide insert.
  8. What kind of line (not brand) do y'all prefer for spinnerbait and worms from shore? LB test?
  9. thanks for the scientific approach! ;D
  10. I'm curious how you all go about developing a pattern/finding the right bait to fish. On a new body of water, where do you start and what processes do you use?
  11. Oh. but I'm still confused as to why you would rather have a shallow spool. I understand what you would use it for, but why not just a normal spool.
  12. yeah but they are saltwater reels, so your not gonna be using 2 lb line, at least any saltwater fishing I've ever heard of. Also, why a shallow spool for vertical jigging? Jigging in 150 feet of water, fish takes out drag.... look out!
  13. Why such shallow spools?
  14. How are All Star Platinum Casting rods? Are they made in the USA?
  15. hey man, congrats on the rods and your health!
  16. sounds like you may have the joy of PA wardens. dont they realize WE keep them in work?
  17. yes i hate green line. don't use it!
