Older Boats/Restorations
Joe, that boat looks awesome! Great job. And bass, that sounds like one heck of a big job. Makes you feel even prouder when she hits the water though.

Older Boats/Restorations
Glades, Love those old Pro Crafts! And yea, I too enjoy it. It's tons of work but now that I'm about done I'm wanting to do another. I used automotive paint and primer with a spray gun. Used the clear coat/base coat pre-mixed paint but am wanting more flake so plan on shootin' some on in a month or so. What did you use? I still haven't figured out what flake I'm going with. I thought about just silver all over.. but can't decide. :-/

Older Boats/Restorations
I was wondering how many guys on here rely on an older boat. Very interested in some restoration pictures! For mine, here's my story... Last year, in the middle of the season, we used my partners dad's Stratos and while trying to qualify, bankruptcy took the boat away. So strapped for cash, and still short of qualifying in our trail, we had no boat. We took what we could spare at the time, had a yard sale, sold some gear, etc. and came up with a little cash to buy a boat. What we bought, most people thought was the ugliest thing to ever hit the water. It was an '87 Pro Craft/Astroglass that had been beat to crap. When I say beat, I mean beat. But after over 100 hours in just 2 weeks, we restored it and used to fish our way to regionals, and then qualify for the classic... It's not done yet, still have some things to finish 'er up before this season, but it's come along way. But now even though we could probably afford something a lot nicer, I wouldn't part with this boat for anything in the world. Let's see yours!

Plastics too soft after winter
Hey guys... My plastic sat over the winter in the garage and I didn't turn in upside down. My baits are coming out too soft and I'm guessing it's because the lack of hardner coming out into the baits. I shook and shook and shook the container but is that enough? Do I need to stick something down there and break it up? Or does the cooler temperatures have anything to do with it?

Orra SX Review
Well I sold a few reels and wanted an all purpose reel and bought the Abu's new Orra SX a few weeks ago. I am amazed at this reel. First of all, appearance is fantastic. Looks better than any of my higher end reels. Its lightweight, smooth as a baby's bottom, and feels great. But my favorite feature is the lube port. Not sure how many other reels have this but underneath the reel, with the turn of one screw, you can open a small door, giving you access to all the main gears for easy oiling. This reel could fool anyone as a $150+ reel. I bought mine for $85 brand new shipping included. Anybody looking for an all purpose reel, definately check this thing out.

Abu Garcia BCX
Hey guys.. New here. Looks like a lot of great info on here. I'm looking for a low geared baitcaster to back my Winch and was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with the BCX round reel. I've been looking at it for a while and I know Bass Pro has 'em for $60-$65 and today at walmart I saw they had it paired with an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur graphite rod for $60. Don't have much use for the rod but thought it was a deal. Anybody crank with one of these?
