  1. all zoom baits are fish catchers. the u-tail is a great bait.i use a 1/0 or 2/0 fine wire hook and a split shot about a ft. up.i let it flutter to bottom and twitch it back to boat.its a great bait on a drop shot as well.personally i work em slow as its a small profile and a lite bait.
  2. while there is a major fish kill goin on sat. my buddy jeff davis won the just friends tx. in the stump field w/ 16+. they caught around 70 keeper bass.they were concentrated but bitin. if preston cant get bit in rodmans he knows plenty of spots in the river.but if your tryin to learn rodmans this isnt the time.
  3. the water is up a ft. or so. we have a tnt(thur. nite tx.) and last week it took 16+ to win.14+-2nd. 12+-3rd. 11+-4th. and we had 11 even -5th.a little boat got under the tressle into rowell for the 16+.thats pretty good for a 3hr. tx. weights have been between 10-20 lbs. since we started the tx. thats not sayin everyone is catchin fish.over half of the 20+ boats catch less than 2fish.
  4. heaggy-burry is on the xtreme s.w. end off 441 just s. of macintosh. you can fish the run from the ramp out to the main lake and catch fish.once you get out to the main lake go to the far n.e. corner (left into lake then far right corner)there is a big cove w/ scattered hydrilla.over against the e. side you should run into the schoolers.they have been there for over a mth.they bite readily.if you want the bigger fish you have to fish off them some w/ flukes,sb,10'' worms, cranks, etc. all along the e. shore across lake from ramp are good pad fields mixed w/ hydrilla work your way in and out of openings .
  5. black trick worm no weight dead sticked.zoom ultravibe speedworm no weight but swam just under the surface,#11 rapala floatin minnow in silver/black back.if there is bass there these will catch em! if it real windy blowin in a wh/chart. 3/8 oz. spinnerbait
  6. orange lake has been red hot all yr. and w/ the recent rain it has come up about a ft. the lake is still xtremely low w/ only one ramp accessible but is still safely navigatible. weve been avg. 20-60 fish a day, granted many are 12-14'' but enough overs to be fun. there has already this yr. been a 14/11 caught by dean jackson certified by the g.c. and just last sat. we had a tx.3 fish w/ waivers and it took 22.54 to win they had a 11.8,6 and a 5.we came in 3rd w/ 9.54 and culled several 2 1/2 lbers .also a member of the gc bassmasters weighed a 13/8 in their march tx. if interested i can direct you to some spots where there is alot of schoolin action and usually can have a ball all day long. lochloosa is just as good .the water has bben really low but the rains should have brought it up some. rodmans is just as hot. we placed 8th in the save rodmans tx. w/ 23.17,22.88 after dead fish penalty, and my partner has won two tx. recntly w/ 21+ in one and 18+ sat. in the bradford bassmasters club.tx. if i was going to a lake i didnt know and wanted to catch fish and have a ligitimate shot at a trophy it would be orange.i can go just about anywhere on that lake and catch fish right now.

  8. this one came outta rodmans 3 weeks ago pre-fishin for a tx. this is my partner jonathan.its his biggest fish so far. 10/5.we caught 23.15 in the save rodmans tx. for 8th place.fishin continues to be good.my patner jeff prefished mon. and had 20+ ,but this was before the rain.not sure how all the water will position them .im sure they'll have the gates open w/ lots of current.
  9. ive fished outta kenwood for 30+ yrs. and never have had a problem.anytime!much easier ramp to get to where your goin unless you live on that side and dont want the drive.fishin has been good to great and w/ the schoolers crankin up should be good right on for awhile.
  10. this is where flourocarbon line is at its best.even on slack line falls youll be able to sense most bites.here in fl. we have very lite biters at times.many days even the best wormers dont feel the bite.you sense it.checkin your line is the only way many times to know if you have a bite.even the best wormers miss alot of bites theyre never aware of.a high quality rod helps tremendously also.
  11. go to floridabassnetwork.com .several guys in yiour area. bj camp .i fish.suwannee river and lake, eagle, lang,.
  12. lake holly on 450 behind yale is a great lake.
  13. the extreme s. end on the left or east side which is called cane hammock all the way upto cow hammock has held some good fish for awhile now in the pads and stick ups.most are the size of the ones you are catching but if you get in the right place the big mamas are there. to discourage the smaller fish i use the mag. speed worm w/ a 1/16 weight in red bug or wat. red.a f11 silver/black rapala can be killer as well.the s.b. is excellent also.also on the opposite end of the lake on the right side there is a big cove.that whole cove is givin up some biggies.fish in and around the scattered hydrilla.same baits but at times you have to soak a fluke or worm to get bit. oh, and dont forget the toad .around the pads and topped hydrilla it can be killer
  14. congrats!!!great report and pics.
  15. bmf or denny brauer.they both have the welded eye and are strong w/xtra wide gap
  16. in our grass bowls there is alwayts fish shallow.maybe not on the outside grass line .if i fish the outside grass line and the bite is tough.i almost always use a weightless trick worm, finess worm or senko wacky rigged....and dead stik it..let the bass come out of the grass to it.if this doesnt work i go in after them.pitchin weightless baits to holes in grass and again deadstik it.they will find it, if this doesnt produce i will move out to the first break no matter how ever so slight it may be in some lakes, especially in post spawn.this will be a holdin area untill they move to summer retreats.if your so lucky to be on a lake w/ submerged grass this is a oasis yr. round.our shallow undescripted bowls are really easier to figure out than diverse lakes cause they only have so many options to go. our small shallow bowls are terribly pressured and finess and slow is a good way to get em to bite.
  17. add the chigger craw and you got it covered.oh, and one im experimentibg w/ the zoom g-tail
  18. target staging fish .if you can find the first drop that has a grass line.flukes, trick worms, lizards, soak em in the grass w/o much action or movement.i just had a friend win a tx. down that way doin that just a week ago.
  19. gators only eat yankees so you aint got nothin to worry about.
  20. you can use them in any applicatuon ,but the name speed craw is at its best when moving fast enough to make the claws flutter.i mainly use them on swim jigs, and as a flippin bait, occasionally as a c-rig bait if im movin it fast
  21. i use them alot in the winter especially the suspending type. the smaller profile and tighter wiggle and suspending is the ticket on lethargic bass. i use them a lot in the suwannee river especislly for suwannee bass in crawfish colors.
  22. i fish some slot lakes and the only way foir the slot to work is to keep the under 15'' bass,so from time to time i do.small bass filleted and fried is excellent table fair. the only thing that i take precaution w/ is there is high amounts of mercury build up in bass flesh.so limit consumption to only a couple times a month.be sure to fillet skin off as the mercury is highest there.
  23. anything below72 and above 78!
