presentations for dirty river smallies
Spro Lil John crank in Chart/Rootbeer. This bait has been destroying them on the Pamunkey River, also a dirty river system loaded with smallies. Also give rat-l-traps a shot and the ole reliable black/blue jig.

Today is the day!
today marked the first day of our high school baseball season and man I am pumped for the rest of the season. I have a feelin we are gonna have a top notch team this year (last year we went 17-1 and this year we are lookin for that perfect season) The only minus is it seriously cuts into my fishing time, oh well guess I'll just have to fish the Sunday series tournaments again.

Fisherman
Anybody else heard Elite series pro Casey Ashley's country song "Fisherman"? I heard a clip of it on the TV coverage of the classic and went straight to itunes and downloaded it. He does an awesome job of singing this tournament anglers anthem. You can hear a clip at www.outdoormusic.com

Trucks
I am currently driving my dad's 1994 Ford F150, However not for long. I'm lookin at either a '91 Bronco or another '94 F150 with an 8" lift and dual exhaust... But dream truck would be an '89 dark blue Bronco with a 10" lift and a set of big ole 38's or 42's...

Jigs vs cranks
Run a crank through the area and then slow down with a jig to get any fish you might have missed with the crankbait.

Official BR.com Movie Review thread
The Kingdom was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, great plot, great acting, and awesome fast paced action. Shooter, The Bourne trilogy, and 3:10 To Yuma are some other very good movies that come to mind...

What are you?
I am a 16 year old high school baseball player who has a serious fishing addiction and is about to have a new job as a turf guy on a golf course

Who Cares?
I am right there with you, I'm getting sick of NASCAR since it's not even about the racing anymore, more of a 3 hour commercial. Basically I'll only watch the Busch series and Truck series. But I love watching F1 and CORR racing. Lately I've gotten into the Australian V8 super car series and any Rally racing, some of the best racing I've ever seen...

which one to choose
Have you looked at Xpress boats? If you are considering an aluminum boat then you really need to check thrm out. All-welded construction, plenty of storage, huge front and back deck, and a unique hull design that makes these things tin rockets (I've actually blown by glass boats of the same specs as my Xpress) And they don't come underpowered like most Trackers do, my X18 has a 150 Merc EFI. A Tracker of the same class would probably come with maybe a 75 or 100 at best. But of course that depends on how much speed means to you. http://www.xpressboats.com/

Pitchin what tip to go with?
I love to flip and pitch in heavy cover and my two main rigs are a 7' Heavy action with a fast tip for heavier baits, and a 7' Medium Heavy action with a moderate/fast tip for slightly lighter baits. I suggest you go with at least a Heavy action with either a fast tip or moderate tip, whichever one feels best to you...

Interesting places you've been
I've been all over the country, every state on the east coast, Texas, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Alabama. I've also been to Canada and several places in the Caribbean. However the most awesome place I have ever been was the Frank Church Wilderness area in the Idaho backcountry. I was fortunate enough to go there with my uncle and one of his buddies on a week long trout fishing trip. We flew into the bush amongst the forest fires and camped and fished along several small rivers and creeks for wild Cutthroat trout. here's a couple pics.

Seaguar Inviz X
InvizX is the only fluorocarbon I use. What made me a believer was one of the best days of fishing I had last summer, me and a buddy were flipping some nasty thick grass mats and I was using 15lb InvizX. I caught a 6lber, a 4.5lber, and several others over 2lbs. Never once did I have to retie, there was never a sign of abrasion or anything anywhere on the line. Not to mention it is one of the best handling fluoro's I've used, granted it gets kinda stiff when you get up into the heavier strengths (17-25lb) but that's the truth with all fluorocarbon lines no matter what the brand is.

What is your kind of music?
Mostly country but I listen to pretty much anything and everything. Country (classic and new), rock, alternative, R&B, some rap, classic rock, and I'm sure there's a few more...But I hate that stupid screamo stuff and hardcore rap, that stuffs just garbage... Which reminds me, anybody here heard of Foxboro Hot Tubs? It's all the guys from Greenday but under a different name, their style is a lot like the old greenday sound, which was awesome IMO (Warning was one of the best albums ever)

They ARE out to get you.
Never. He's too smart to get his hands dirty like that. That's what his henchmen are for. So that's why he keeps LBH around...hmmm...

Drop Shot vs. Carolina Rig
Most of the time I cast a drop shot rig to cover just like you would a jig or texas rig. So I rig it up with a 6-12" leader, a 1/4oz weight (depending on depth and current) and a 2/0 lightwire Owner offset worm hook. Then I'll rig a 4" ZOOM finesse worm, RI flirt worm, or a 4" ZOOM dead ringer weedless and very slowly inch the rig through cover, shaking it and pausing it along the way. Another very effective technique is to flip a drop shot rig in heavy cover like grass mats. I use a 7' heavy action flippin stick, 40lb Stren Super braid, a gammy 2/0 superline wide gap hook, a 1/2-1oz weight, and any small craw, beaver, or any other normal flipping bait on a relatively short leader (no more than 6"). And just flip it into the cover, let the weight hit bottom, and shake just like you would if you were flipping a texas rig.

If you could only fish ONE lure the rest of your life....

Beautiful Lakes
Yup, during our last major hurricane back in '04. We got something like 18 inches of rain in like 5 hours. The spillway simply couldn't handle it and the dam just gave way... That lake was teeming with bass in the 3-5lb range, there were even a few 9's and a 10 pulled out of there. But now all I got to look at is a huge mud hole :'(

Jig reccomendation
I make most of my own jigs, but the only factory ones I use anymore are War Eagles. By far the best quality factory jig I've used.

Spro little John
I actually went out to a small lake yesterday to try and get a jig bite going. Well that wasn't working and neither was anything else I tried, so I pulled out the little John and on my first cast I had a 14inch keeper nail it and that was followed by several more...don't know if it was just a reaction strike or if it was the design of the bait, but I really got confidence in it now.

Couple frsh jigs
No I never have tried painting the heads, probably ought to give it a shot though. And the Pamunkey jigs are extra creamy, cuz ya see through my years of research I have found that fish in the river this time of year prefer a smooth snack. But as soon as that water hits 60, they tear up the crunchy ones
