  1. So I have been reading about 10 or so posts about how people are buying the sexy shad color on lures and that if you're not "sexy" you ain't fishing.... So my question is....how good is this color really? I fish all color waters....clear to a slight murky mostly...but sometimes a little muddy...but not bad. Is the crankbait better to get or the spinners...or the jigs? Sorry to be dumb on this, but I had to ask because it finally caught my attention enough.... Any help is appreciated! Matt
  2. I have gone about 4 times now for numerous hours each and done everything....landed 0 fish. Water temp is about 50. Anyone else having same issue? Matt
  3. Thought I would give the proper intro since i didn't the other day... My name is Matthew, I am 26 years old and from the northern panhandle of WV. I have been fishing ever since I was 3 and my pappy would take me twice a week till his passing. I just bought a Pelican Bass Raider 10E last summer (first boat ever) and added a MinnKota Endura 55lb transom motor. My wife just gave me a Hummingbird PiranhaMax 170 that I installed yesterday. I mainly like to fish the local State maintained lakes, but I do river fish on the Ohio from time to time...mainly catfish the river though.
  4. I agree if the ice is gone...fish er' up! I'm going out this afternoon when the wife gets home and trying out the new setup on the boat....can't wait!
  5. Well I finally got it figured out after 6 hours of wiring...running around the tri-state area....going to Cabelas...then bam, got it up and running....its looks like a wiring hell, but it will work! Ran the battery from the middle of the boat for better stability. Battery to a 60amp MinnKota breaker. From breaker to trolling motor. Also ran power cable to battery for FF w/ a switchable toggle to use a secondary battery in the future for a longer day of fishing. Anyway...not i need to make a small wiring box at the transom to hide all the extra wiring! LOL
  6. Mine happened about 8 years ago...not fishing....but actually running from a WV Black Bear. We went on a family trip with my parents to a state park when walking to meet my dad in the parking lot about 10:30pm my brother yelled there was a bear behind me and literally it was 2ft behind me! So i took off and dove in the bed of his Silverado landing my my pole with Rapala minnow running right into my left wrist!!! Well I got it out...after an hour of fun! LOL Good times though!!!!
  7. Thanks buddy! I was thinking of doing that w/ the trolling motor, great info! As for the FF, better to run it off its own battery or as long as it is run off separate wiring hence....battery to 60amp breaker then from breaker have two connections....one going to the TM and the other to the FF with an inline fuse correct?
  8. Howdy all! I own a Bass Raider 10 E as of last August and am looking for help on wiring it up. I fished several times last year from it by myself and was very pleased with it! I have the following I am needing to wire up and need help with the best way to do it: Deep cycle battery Minn Kota 55lbs transom trolling motor Humminbird Piranhamax 170 I am eventually going to add some lights for night fishing on streams off the Ohio river...but not anytime this year. I was looking to also get the minnkota 60amp fuse...but heard I don't need it. What is the right way to wire this thing up? I am good with electrial work....just know nothing about boats. Thanks! Matt Moundsville, WV
