On Board Battery Charger assistance
Don't count out the Dual Pro. I've been running a Dual Pro for almost 10 years. They set the standard in customer service bar none. If your Dual Pro is EVER needed in repair all you have to do is call Dual Pro and they will ship you a NEW Dual Pro in the mail no charge in exchange for your old charger and have it there almost overnight. In other words once you buy a Dual Pro thats the only Dual Pro you'll ever buy in your lifetime. Here are 20 TOP reasons to buy a Dual Pro. 1. New Millenium Charging Technology. Exclusive method that incorporates failsafe, step down power supplies, silicon controlled rectifiers (SCR's), highly advanced integrated circuitry and a new microprocessor that not only assures a full charge but keeps your batteries conditioned for extended life. 2. Safest Chargers Ever Manufactured. Protected against reverse polarity, short circuits, overvoltage and ground faults and will not allow sparking or arcing under any conditions. 3. Most Reliable Chargers On The Market Today. Their chargers are designed to last for the lifetime of your equipment. The return rate is less than two percent-well over 150,000 in service. 4. Charges Batteries to 100% Without Overcharging. Our chargers will bring the batteries to 100% of their full potential. Our tests against major competitors confirm that we achieve both the highest Specific Gravity and longest discharge times of any charger on the market without overcharging. 5. Full Shut-Off After Charge. No Trickle Charge Most equipment owners are looking for a charger that has a full shut-off since they know that this is the best way to prevent overcharging and "frying" their batteries. We have a full shut-off and a monitoring system that allows our chargers to return to charge mode only as needed. 6. Trouble Free - Just Plug It In And Forget It. This is the number one comment that we hear from our customers. We recommend that the chargers be plugged in to power at all times since it has the automatic shut-off and automatic return to charge features. This makes our chargers ideal for both overnight charging and long term storage. 7. Totally Independent Chargers In The Same Housing. They use independent power supplies and totally independent electronic circuits for each bank of our chargers. This allows for seperate and simultaneous charging of each battery. For example, our Three Bank Pro Charger actually contains three seperate battery chargers. 8. Monitors The Ambient Temperature To Assure A Full Charge. A unique feature of our chargers is a temperature sensing device located in the leads going to each battery. By automatically adjusting the charge for any given ambient temperature, we assure a full charge in all weather conditions. 9. True Reverse Polarity Protection. When the leads of the chargers are accidentally touched together or connected to the wrong poles of a battery, no sparking or arcing will occur and the charger's circuits will not be damaged. Before the charger can deliver current it must be connected properly to a battery. 10. Fully Waterproof. We were the first completely waterproof charger on the market. Our chargers are sealed in a waterproof case that protects the electrical components without smothering them and causing severe overheating. 11. Most Economical. Our chargers are competitively priced with others on the market. In the long term we save the equipment owner money by prolonging the life of his batteries. The best thing you can do to extend battery life and performance is to keep a full charge on the battery without overcharging it. We accomplish this better than any other chargers. 12. No Mounting Restrictions. Since our chargers generate very little heat, there are no mounting restrictions. To our knowledge we have the only chargers with this feature. 13. Available In Stainless Steel Models. We offer all of our chargers in a stainless steel case for about 10% more money. 14. Designed And Manufactured In The U.S.A. We design our own products and they are manufacturerd by our company in Nashville, Tennessee. This gives us total control of product quality and assures our commitment to customer service. 15. FCC Part 15 A and B Interference Compliance. Our chargers are in total compliance with these FCC Regulations. Most chargers do not comply and some competitors have been taken off the market for this reason. 16. Recommended By Battery Manufacturers. If you were to ask most major manufacturers, chances are they would tell you that our chargers charge their batteries better than any other charger on the market. Some are considering extending their battery's warranty if the customer uses one of our chargers. 17. Chargers Of Choice For Major Equipment Manufacturers. We market our chargers to OEM's, Distributors, and Dealers in the following industries: Marine, Trucking, Material Handlers, Fire Engines, Rescue Vehicles, Hi-Tech Industrial Equipment, Golf Carts, RVs, Wheel Chairs and Others. 18. C.E. Approval For European Customers. We have one of the few battery chargers that have C.E. approval. This certification is required for battery chargers installed on equipment to be sold on the European Market. 19. Best Warranty And Customer Service. We are known for having the best possible customer service. Our two year, no hassle, warranty is unconditional. We ship a free replacement the same day we find out about a problem, and we pay the freight both ways. 20. One Year Money-Back Satisfaction Guarantee. We offer our customers a full year to try our chargers and if they are not completely satisfied, we will take the product back and give them a full refund of the purchase price. The only offer of this kind anywhere. T Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
buzbaitfool, Sounds like your wiring is not big enough to handle the voltage you are putting through the wires. For Trollign motors I would reccomend 6 gauge marine wire. For fish finder it should be a minimum of 22 gauge COPPER wire (if used as an extension) I would put an inline fuse on the fish finder for sure. 2-4amp should be about right. I haven't gotten my boat rigged up 100% yet so I'm not sure my plan is working until I get the batteries and chargers and everything is hooked up. Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
BD, Think of the 2 trolling motors on the back as dual motors. They are locked in place just as you see them. All they do is propel the boat straight forward and I am steering with the front trolling motor. All 3 motors are 24 volts. So I will need 2 batteries PER trolling motor ie 12 volt batteries. THe 6 batteries will run all 3 trolling motors for the day and will be recharged by 2ea 3 bank Dual Pro Chargers. Yankee_Bassman, Yeah that little package in the last picture was the most expensive mod on the whole boat ~~ He's gonna be fun tho!! Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
Low budget, Thats the formula!! I was going on what you said in your post about max speed 4-6mph. I don't have a clue. I just wanna get from point A to B and catch fishies in between ~ T Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
Low Budget, Trust me I'm not wizard in this. Randall Kirkpatrick of Fish Atlanta is the guy you need to talk with. He has a freakin formula to determine speed with trolling motors LOL. Weight is one thing but width of boat is another. If you have a 12ft boat 36 inch bottom and a 12ft 48 inch bottom the 48 inch bottom will come out on top everytime as far speed is concerned. Thats what Randall tells me. You have more to gain by bottom width than you do about worrying with weight of your boat. Randall just had a sudden emergency (see post in General fishing) so it will probably be a little while before we see him. But Randall is the guy that can answer your questions!! T Mike

Prayers for Randall Kirkpatrick (Fish Atlanta)
I know everyone here on the board watches the post from Randall Kirkpatrick of Fish Atlanta Guide Service. He has been expecting the birth of his third child anyday. He just let a friend of mine know the baby didn't make it through the delivery. There were complications with the cord. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Randall I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Please let me know if I can be of any help!! T Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
Lowbudgethookers. Randall Kirkpatrick my electric boat genius says anything more than 2 motors on the back is not gaining you much in the form of speed. If your going 4.6 with one T motor maybe you can get 6 with 2???? I agree there is diminishing returns until you can get the boat up on plane. Worst case sceneario I have a Trolling motor to sell. Best case scenario I'll be going faster?? hipster, The plug that I have is a marineco plug. The wire is 8 gauge that connects to it tho. Thats the best I could find. Any marine dealer can order it for you. Mike

Update on my jon boat project :) (lots of pics)
another site I've just been poking along and taking my time with my all electric jon boat project. The only thing I really have left is to install the 2ea 3 bank Dual Pro chargers (on order), Buy 6 batteries (ouch!), install a bilge pump, glue down the front deck carpet and wire the 2 big foot switches and it should be ready to roll provided I wired it all right LOL. Just in case you interested I have 3ea 82lb thrust Motor Guides (total of 246lbs of thrust arrgh!!) A humminbird 987SI and I built a special bracket that I thought was pretty neat for the GPS puck. A 120qt ice chest with a special hatch in the lid along with a Longer life aereator for a livewell. Here is the little website I made to show the progress of the boat. Scroll down for the newer pictures. www.tritonmike.com/boat.html T Mike

Matt, Thanks for verifying that. I know my sources are pretty close to Mike so I wouldn't post anything like that above if I had a weak source or if I was unsure. Mike

Humminbird Side Imaging Technology
McFly, Welcome to the new millineum of electronics. The 987 is the most awesome unit ever conceived to this point in my opinion. The reason nobody talks about it is because most can't afford the hefty price tag. It's almost 2 grand. As a guide I personally couldn't afford not to own this unit. I'm not sponsored by Humminbird and I paid full retail for my unit out of my own pocket. The 987 is everything you hear and more. The Side Imaging technology will blow your mind (and your wallet). There is a sonar sticky thread below that I posted just a "few" side imaging and sonar pictures for you to look over. If I can answer any questions about the unit let me know. I'm probably gonna be the only redneck here that has a 987 on a Tr-20 and a JON boat LOL T Mike

Sonar sticky -UPDATED W/ LINKS AND PICS
BD, If you live in Atlanta I have a seminar that I am doing for the Geogia DNR at Red Top MTN at 8am this Saturday. It's Power Point presenation that is all about sonar interpretation and how to use your sonar to put more fishies in the boat. I'll tell you what. Glenn if you set the board up or however you want to organize it. I have about 100 Sonar and Side imaging pictures I can put up and explain and we can ALL learn from it. Sonar interpretation is the biggest thing that most of my clients ask me to help them with on guide trips. I'm trying to bridge that gap with my seminar this coming Saturday. I think a seperate board called Sonar Interpretation would be a great learning tool for everyone and be something other boards haven't done yet. Here are just a few examples of sonar pictures that I have explained already. another site T Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
Matt, You are correct it was 2002 since the last 15lber ie 4 years and not 7-8 years. Well now it's officially 2006 since the most recent Share a Lunker 15.29lbs. My info is coming according to the top 50 list of Texas Bass. flanchero, I don't know how to use the quote features but you pretty much agreed to what I had said where you quoted me. I said the LMBV ruined the chance of Lake Forks run at the WR and it did and I then stated "will it rebound. Personally I hope it does". I have ZERO problems with Texas owning the World Record but it will not be an easy task for them. If it does break the WR it will come from Fork. Mike

Sowbelly....
I don't know if this is 100% true but I heard Mike Long kicked Monte Burk out of his boat when he was writing this book interviewing Mike Long. Seems Monte was more interested in digging up gossip than reporting the story. I have read the book and thought it was good but then I heard from a friend about Monte's intentions. Mike

Top 25
There was a thing in Bass West that states Jed Dickersons fish in 4th place is the same exact fish caught by Mike Long which is in 9th place. THere was a spot on his gills that matched up in both pictures and they thought there was a strong chance it was the same fish which had grown some when Jed D caught her. T Mike

universal transducer mod ?
Bob, Personally what I would do is put the temp probe on the transom. When you are constantly lifting the trolling motor in and out of the water I have found that it often takes up to 5 minutes on occasions to finally settle down on a temperature. By having the probe on the transom it's almost always in the water and takes less time to find the accurate temp. I agree with you the tempertature is the most important electronic gadget you can have on your boat! T Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
My Contact said a 20.4 lber was found in 1997 Floating and BARELY alive by 2 anglers. But it was dead when the Texas Parks and wildlife arrived. But there were not 4 fish over 20 or close to 20lbs weighed. My opinion of Texas went up ONE notch but they still haven't weighed in a 15lber in over 7-8 years. LMBV killed Forks chance at the WR. Will it rebound?? Personally I hope it does!! T Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
Trap, I really don't think any of us having a problem with Georgia holding the World Record. Heck I would love for nothing more to say it was caught out of Allatoona my home lake and that there was a WR or 3 in there LOL. It's the fact that their are some variations of stories and lack of evidence that we dispell the validity of the world record. I personally don't care which state the next World Record comes out of as long as it is documented properly and the background of the fish is shady. Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
I am going against what I have said about Japan. After thinkign about it I don't think Japan will have much of a chance at the WR. #1 reason is the lakes are fished extremely hard. I don't think there is a lake in the US that is fished as hard as the lakes in Japan. Primarily due to the lack of big lakes in Japan and the amount of anglers in Japan. I had a decent talk with Minoru Segawa the president of Lucky Craft about fishing in Japan and the stories he told me of fishing pressure just blew my mind. THere is a reason why Lucky Craft has so many technique specific baits to cater to Japan ie due to extreme fishing pressure in Japan. Now there might be a private lake type deal in Japan that might be able to produce. But who knows. I don't know enough about Africa to comment on them. T Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
trap, Do you know anything about statistics and odds?? Statistics and odds are against Perry's fish being legit based on past history. I saw big foot yesterday but I don't have a picture to prove it and I have been caught in a few lies along the way and my story has changed a time or two. What are the chances that I saw bigfoot??? I do think Fork will make a comeback and I hope it does. I lived an hour from Fork for about 3 years. Awesome fishery!!! Lightninrod make no mistake about it Dodge County has some TOADS in it!! I hope Varner can produce those kinds of fish in the near future. T Mike

The current World Record Largemouth
I am checking into the validity of 4 dead 20lbers found at Fork. I know a gentleman that has guided on fork since 1990. If theres a dead 20lber he would know about it and like Earthworm stated we would have heard about it somewhere!! I think Duclos claimed his fish to be 24lbs cause he thought the record was 27lbs so he snapped a few pictures and released it. T Mike

flechero, I have zero beef with the tactics that the share a lunker program is doing. In fact I wish they would do it in every state! I would like to read the material that you have about 4 fish over 20lbs were found dead at Fork. Is there a internet link? I also agree Mexico has a great chance at the WR as well. Mike
