  4. i was getting worried there. i too was going through withdrawl and had extreme bordom
  5. I prefer to spend my winter sitting in a shanty with a buddy heater going jigging for perch. I would like to try some steelhead fishing this year
  6. bull$*!#. there is no northern pike with 3in long teeth. Heck it would probably be close to 1in if that
  7. i live 10 mins from Oneida Lake. I feel so lucky to have such an awesome lake right down the road
  8. we arent canadian. we live NY. J Francho lives in Rochester, I live just north of Syracuse and Clayton live not too far from Rochestor. Rochester is about 2 hours west from me
  9. well then i did a favor for my buddy then a day early. His dad asked me this morning if i wanted to go fishing with him. of course i said yes. we had a good day eventhough he only got one largemouth and i only got a rock bass.
  10. im 16 and i got tons of kids my age who bass fish. it helps when your in a bass club too though
  11. ill stick with mine that i got from p&c for $2 on clearance. they are no costas but they get the job done and if they fall in the water or break there isnt much of a loss. I will not pay over $30 for sunglasses. costas are nice $150-200, screw that
  12. its like that everywhere in NY. 3ft of snow or 100*
  13. the honeycombs are ok. the tessaras suck big time. i would get a lamiglas excel. they have them in the same actions and lengths as the skeet reese but they are miles ahead of the skeet reese. much better quality and more sensative
  14. If she's bad luck I wouldn't take her hunting.
  15. I chose other. All my reels are BPS. I know they are probably made by Abu or Pfluegar but it says BPS on them so thats what I'll call them. I have had very good luck with BPS reels. The PQ, what an outstanding reel for $70.
  16. Except for maybe the spider grub and the tube I'd use 5/0 EWG gammy hook, for senkos I think there is no better size. For the grubs and tube a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook.(EWG is all I use except for swimbaits)
  17. when using heavy line make sure your drag is set though. not using it could mean a broken rod
  18. its cottonwood. i fee your pain though. its gets bad here in some spots and its quite annoying. when i see it i tend not to even use my BCs
  19. join a club. i knew hardly anything about bass fishing and never fished tournaments until i joined a club. do it for your own good. i learned so much also. now im one of the top members after only 3 years. i pay $35 a year to be in the club $40 for club touraments and $75-$100 for state tourneys(only fish 1 maybe 2 a year). most clubs fundraise to pay for tournaments. i only pay for my $35 dues and my tournaments are paid for by fundraising.
  20. had that happen in a tournament yesterday. my boater fished the day before on weedbeds in 4-8ft of water. well we fished those then moved to about 2ft and found them hugging wood cover. that was just overnight. they do move
  21. sounds like you got a very solid set up. when using lighter lures you would want to loosen the spool tension. like setting the tension for the 1/2oz weight you would do the same for the 3/8oz. once you get real used to it you can memorize what the brakes should be set at for certian lures. just keep practicing. also while flipping and pitching you would want to back off with the tension but still use the brakes. some can do it without brakes but not me
  22. i saw that. if only i had $130
  23. wow the craw fatty in electric blue flake is my favorite out the havoc series though the pit boss and devil spear look good
  24. never had poison oak but poison ivy SUCKS. i got a little bit now on my ankle, not that bad but annoying. i use calagel. stuff works great
