great day after the rain
Man, that sounds like it was a great day on the water. I am definitely moving to Florida one day.

A little confused!
Did you find the baitfish the second time you went out? I am assuming you did and if so, I would have to agree with grimlin. Sometimes the fish just don't bite.

Cumberland Striper
My dad and I are going striper fishing on Lake Cumberland with a couple of his buddies from work. It's gonna be in mid October and I have no idea what to expect. Has anyone fished for striper on Cumberland or in general (I know some of you have)? I am completely clueless about how to fish for them or where they hang out? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. I know this isn't the most detailed post, but you guys know as much about the trip as I do at this point.

Does anyone know if Berkley every made any topwater lures
I'm not aware of any other walking the dog type baits from Berkley. Why don't you like the frenzy walker?

Good Customer Service At BPS
I rolled a lighting rod up in my window and the tip snapped right under the guide. I took it back to bass pro and they gave me store credit no questions asked. They have some great customer service.

Lake Monroe
That's a pretty vague description of the lake. Any other information on it (clarity, water temp, depth, etc.)?

spinning reel for less 100 dollars
The Abu Cardinal isn't half bad and much less than $100. I just picked one up two days ago and it has been good so far. I would ask others about it as I have only had mine for a short period of time.

Rod/Line Setups
I personally think braid is a must for jig fishing. You can put a fluoro leader on if you think bass get spooked by braid. I also use 10lb. mono for my crankin rod. It works for me, but I have never tried fluoro for crankin, so I have no knowledge concerning that.

spinnerbait decision
I'm not sure what they are feeding on. The reservoir was just open for fishing this Monday and I'm going to check it out Thursday. It was built and stocked in 2007 and the DNR wanted to give the fish a chance to grow and mature so they kept the water off limits to the public up until Monday. Well it should be a fun trip. The lake obviously isn't pressured yet, so it won't be as hard to fish as some other lakes are. 1/2 oz. jigs with rage craw/chigger craw trailers and white/chartreuse spinnerbaits are my go to lures in the fall. What other baits do you plan on throwing?

spinnerbait decision
I would most likely throw the fluorescent spinner out of the two. I have never had luck with colored blades aside from gold and silver so I wouldn't have bought either, but that's just me. What do the bass mostly feed on in the lake?

fishin a green pond
I find that buzzbaits work really well in waters like this. Also maybe a senko style bait in pumpkin or watermelon colors.

Vick
I 100% agree with you. I was just trying to say that the NFL's policies on certain things are outrageous and need to be changed.

Swim Bait's/Who's are better?
Every time I hook a fish I come into my office space,{laundry room}and take a photo then go back outside and release them. But the other remarks are for those who have a few Smart phrases about them.No constructive criticism, nor imagination, about them, just plain dew of the Lilly,Shake it well, boys.Steve Wilson invented the first swimbait that I know of.{ Kick Tail-NGCsports} WHAT???

Vick
Completely agree with you. For example, Braylon Edwards just got a DUI and the Jets gave him a ONE quarter suspension. What's up with that? I'm not saying that getting a DUI is worse than dog fighting, but seriously, a one quarter suspension? Should have at least gotten a game or more suspension for putting lives in danger.

Barometric Pressure
I wouldn't go as far to say that water temperature and time of day have nothing to do with fish behavior.

Best Bluegill lures?
Bluegill will eat just about anything. I have even caught them using chewing gum. When I really want to catch them I will use bread or nightcrawlers.

It's been awhile since they have played championship quality football.....about 15 years.

Barometric Pressure
I personally think it's a myth, but some believe in it strongly. Barometric pressure measures the weight of the atmosphere per square inch. It's supposed to affect a bass's swim bladder, which would in turn affect should affect eating patterns. When the pressure decreases the bite is supposed to heat up and when it increases the bite is supposed to slow down. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1215294958/7 This could help you understand a little more as I am not an expert on the subject.

First tournament: what setups?
If you are going to get one of the three crankin rods you suggested, I would get the carbonlite. It's a fairly cheap rod and a great deal for the money. It's one of my favorite rods I have ever owned and great for crankin if you get if you get it in medium power. It could also double for a plastics rod. The handle is absolutely amazing too. Very comfortable. Edit: I meant for this to be in your other thread.
