  1. I have both for my little salt water fishing and IMHO I can select one from the other.
  2. Need ??????? I eliminated that word from my fishing dictionary long time ago......Now I call it collection Give me peace of mind.
  3. The best you can afford. Spare you for a lot of headaches and frustration.
  4. The 6.3:1. It is still a fast reel with 28 IPT. I have both as well as the 4.9:1.
  5. Check EBay, you can get it there new with free shipping.. I just got mine yesterday.
  6. I have custom rods from 2 builders, David Green, I got one and another in route and 4 rods from George Roth. Highly recommend both of them.
  7. Quantum makes excellent reel but they are heavier than same price Daiwas or Shimanos
  8. It is probably a typo. But you can call Delos to clarify, they are very helpful guys.
  9. For me they are worth every penny, they are as solid as any other handle, make you retrieve super smooth and you can take apart the knobs to do proper cleaning. You can sweep the handle in your Fuego with a TD-Z, it is lighter, has 4 bearing and knobs x $ 40.00. I believe that the TD Advantage®-HSTA is a compatible with the Zillion ( I don't know it for sure ) but Daiwa may be able to help you there. Another option is to buy a JDM Zillion handle, it comes with 4 bushings that are easily sweep to bearings. Best luck
  10. I just got it from this guy simmonssportinggoods in Ebay with free shipping.
  11. For jerkbaits I prefer shorter rods 6.0 M since I want to keep the tip down all the time, I also like it with a bit of stiff tip, St Croix makes the closer to the ideal one.
  12. I think that I would wait too. Your are dealing with the very lower end of an already crowded line.... I have that reel in spinning and despited using it only in 1 season on salt water, I'm very satisfied.
  13. Congratulations!!!!!! I think you got the Monkey virus. I have a custom rod built with that blank, sweet and powerful, like sex
  14. Welcome to the family!!!!!! The Daiwa oil you can get it from Daiwa Serv/Parts (562) 802-9589, Ext 8. The bottle that came with your reel should last you a while for your basic care. ReelMech changed the oil in all mine to his/Shimano oil a couple of years ago and this is what I've been using since. Highly recommended. The only situation that I use a different one is for the ceramic bearings. Don't mix different oils. Best luck
  15. I have never seen that rod...... But sweet, Your Avatar does rock.
  16. I switch every combo that have with CX or CXX to Evolution,....including swimbaits.
  17. This can be a never end debate. Leader ?, Yes, less for visibility than for tackle protection, most of us use line weight way above rod tolerance/rate. Protection for your AR and spool shaft and a bit of stretch at hook set w/o sacrifiging sensitivity. Just my thoughts :
  18. Regular, heavy or power fishing, this reel does not like light lure for more that I have tunned.
  19. I have a very good experience with the Catalysts and Energies PTi but like any Quantums, they are heavy. Of your list the best is the Stradic, specially the FI and FA. The most cost effective I think would be the Symeter tough.....
  20. I'm ready to commit suicide....2 days into the new year and I already blow it on a Carrot Stick :'(....The worsen, I refused treatment ;D
  21. Sure, Ceramic ABEC 5 spool support bearings, for Accurist and Energy same size than Steez and Revo. TD-Z handle, you will have to file down the inner cup but since it is magnesium take 2 min. and polishing of the spool shaft and pinion. That is what I have on mine flipp'n reels
  22. You will not regret any money expended.... In addition mine has the TD-Z guide line ( the best ever ), another bearing at the worm shaft and the Sol drag pack at 8.8 lbs....I rather have sex with it than with my wife ( just kiddi'n ) : I call it Pixarro.
