  1. I'm in the same group
  2. For me is only second to the Pointer and better than a HJ. Super Rogue Jr is my #3.
  3. I use a leader in braid all the time except for frogs. Sufix 15 gets P-line CX 10-12 in spinning gear, Sufix 50 get CX 15-20 in baitcasters.
  4. Good choice, I have an Ultra XL and a Co-Matrix spinning, they go with me every where.
  5. I do the same, I re-spool very frequently in all my no-braid line, at the end of the year save me a bundle.
  6. Take it!!!!!!, you can fish anything you want with it..... Aaah may be no big Swimbaits or Baby Griffons but anything else in between.
  7. I decide to try it in my spinning reels when it came out mostly b/c its handle characteristics, strength and low limps and for me it is OK, no great, I still use it intermittently. I don't care about the invisibility factor since my average depth is about 6' in stained water. It didn't affected by fishing what so ever. I found that I like Tripe Fish RX much better for spinning reel.
  8. Very nice lure Raul, Can you tell us the name or is a secret? ;D After I fished with the BBZ-1 every thing else look tiny.

    Absolutely worth every coin
  10. For DS I prefer spinning gear, I use the DSR822S, the extra fast action is perfect for this technique.
  11. I never have any problems at all with Fluoroclear, my complain was the excessive stretch but CX took care of that. I don't use anything lighter than 12lbs and that is for my deep cranking but my average depth is 10 feet, with water infested with stumps, rocks, fallen wood and submerged shopping carts anything less will break before even seen a fish.

It has been very productive for me this late Fall and Winter
  13. I went with magnetics but I'm not sure that I prefer one system over the other. There is no option for centrifugal w/o pins.....I do hate the d**n pins
  14. I love that......very well said Dodgeguy ;D ;D ;D
  15. I thing it is the best reel ever made. My # 1 changes for time to time, this month is my upgraded Alpha Type F. 0
  16. I also can't see cranking with spinning gear as my ideal set nor Gloomis ( They don't have anyone in their crankbait series ). I have the SJR 782 IMX and is a great rod, I don't see why not to be use for shallow/light cranks, it is not fit for med/deep cranking so. I think 6.6 is a good size for the purpose. There is not such a thing as " stupid question ". specially in fishing.
  17. I would also get the Extreme. I have a BB spinning, the black for what I use it for is OK but the handle I don't like it at all, the space left after at the reelseat after the reel is in place is so big the catch my fingers all the time.
  18. Mike if you need a drag heavier than the Cardiff one....I need to fish with you.
  19. The Calcuta B 50 has a Max. Drag weight of 7.5 lbs, Cardiff 301 is 10 lbs. The B 400 weights 11.9 oz, the TE 400 is at 12.8 oz, Cardiff 300, 8.9 oz.... The B is $ 120 and TE $ 250 more expensive than the Cardiff. I have the 301 for my heavy swimbait set and after a year of continuous 2-4 time a week use is as good as brand new. Now the drag is been pump up with new drag washers by ReelMech.
  20. I use CX in every set I cast a treble hook lure with, except jerkbaits, I just love the handling, the smaller diameter and the toughness. I have the Evolution 25 lbs for my heavy swimbaits, so far so good but I can't say it is better than CXX.
  21. I have the a 6.0 M baitcaster for about a year, it has become one of my favorite shore fishing rod, I love the handle more than anything else. She lives in my truck
  22. I don't have an overall #1 rod. My preference change with technique, season, boat vs shore or just my mood at the time. This month my favorite is my newest and 1st Kistler Helium LTA 6.6 ML, I can cast a Baby Griffon w/o a flinch, love it
  23. I also like the 6.0, this size is much more comfortable to jerk and sweep with the rod tip down for a prolong period of time. I have the St Croix Legend Elite M, it is a fast action but with a very gently tip. I paired with a Quantum Energy X-Metal and P-line CX 12lbs.
  24. I go with the CB 100
  25. Sure, but the floating can be fish at slower speed w/o dragging 5 lbs of weeds.
