boats
I also have one one that is not quite as nice as Rich's (no livewell, but does have a removemable cooler that is rigged up to put an aerator(sp) in it if you wish). I think I apid around $600 for mine around 5 years ago and it has definitely been worth every penny.

Owl attack!!!
Wasp, hornets, and snakes. One time my dad and I were fishing from a 2 man bass boat at a farm pond and a snake fell into the boat from a tree that my dad was trying to get his spinnerbait out of. We both jumped overboard. I HATE SNAKES WITH A PASSION!!!!!

Fish Just Gotta Eat
This lake had been stocked for maybe 5 or 6 years and the lake was only open for kids under 13 and no boats were allowed. The lake has plenty of bait fish and plenty of cover (brush piles, trees, and tons of weeds). The fish weren't fat by any means, but they seemded to be fairly healthy.

Fish Just Gotta Eat
I ran into a kamikaze fish last summer. This community lake just opened to the public and it was the first weekend. I was using a 1/4 oz. spinnerbait and was working the outside edges of weed beds in 4-5 of water. The water is extremely clear so I could see many bass cruising the edges. I caught this one particular one that when i released him he just went right below the boat and stayed there. I was washing hands in the water and noticed that he made a dart towards the front of the boat. I picked up my rod to start fishing again and he had taken the spinnerbait that was dangling over the side of the boat. All of these fish were nuts in this lake for the first couple of weeks. You would catch these fish that their mouths were just one bloody mess with hardly any tissue left. It was almost like a trout haven for that first month.

Lily Pads
I like plastics, texas rigged or weightless. You can fish them on top of the pads are flip and pitch the holes. I like shallow cranks and spinnerbaits on the edges early in the morning.

Now serving #500!!
That's awesome!!!! I know of at least 5 more on the way. When did this thing start?

The faithful and true
For me, early in the morning I would have to go with a popper. Late morning I like a spinnerbait. After that I usually go to a worm texas rigged or a black and blue jig with a junebug trailer. When I go to my local lake for a typical day a fishing those are my most productive baits day in and day out.

smallmouth or largemouth
Replicas I hope.

smallmouth or largemouth
Largemouth because I like the hunt for them. All of my situations where I have caught smallmouth (not many) have all been in deeper open water. I just like how fishing for LM you have to make a perfect cast. I love making a cast back under some thick brush, trees, docks, pathches of grass, etc. and you get the huge strike you were anticipating.

Poor Man's boat - best choice?

How did you /Who got you started in fishing?
First time I was about 6 at a trout farm and I was imediately addicted to the fight. Then when I was about 8 my dad took me fishing before the sun came up and I loved it. There is nothing better than being at the lake while the sun is coming up.

great site
This site has been so helpful. Even though I am not fishing right now, too cold, it is satisfying my fishing itch.

Bass games
I have Rapala Pro Fishing for PC and I absolutely hate it. It is so hard to control. I have Sega Bass Fishing Duel coming in the mail. It is supposed to be pretty good. I have played Sega line of games for Dreamcast and I really liked those A LOT. However the best game I have played has to be some game I have for Super Nintendo LOL!!! You had to start off as an Am. and work your way up to a pro. You had to find patterns, you had to earn money in tourneys to upgrade your equip (boats, rods, reels, line, lures, plastics, towing vehicles, sponsorships, the whole bit).

Bass Saturdays
They are the perfect remedy for my spring fever right now for the 4-5 hours it is on. However afterwards my temperature rises even higher then it was.

pros
Gerald Swindle, I like how aggressive he is.

Are you loyal to a brand?
This past summer I fell in love with YUM plastics (I think I had every single thing they made), but I do fish a lot of other plastices. I used nothing but Gamakatsu hooks, but I fished with a guy in the late fall that fished Oner(sp)? hooks. I might have to try those. They are mean looking. Always Shimano reels. All-Star Rods.
-
Setting the hook
Above is exactly how I rig my up. I barely stick the point back into the side of the worm so the hook will still lay flush agaist the side of the worm. When you feel around the worm where the point is you should be able to feel it fairly well.

I love bass fishing, don't U?!
Obsession. I am starting to get a serious case of the spring fever and it is 5 degrees outside currently. Last night I couldnt sleep so I took three reels apart and cleaned them and oiled them and put some fresh line on. God let there be warmth.

Setting the hook
I feel I am pretty good at setting hooks with plastic worms so I will give you my technique. I use 3/O or 4/O Gamaaaaaaaaaaasjcnsdvasdfibv LOL hooks Extra Wide Gap ( ithink this is pretty important) making sure the end of the hook is exposed but lie flush against the worm keeping it weedless, as soon as I feel any thump, nick, anything I reel down pointing my rod tip directly where my bait is (be sure to keep contact with your bait at all times), and then yank with all my force. If you are fishing this time of year, depending on where you are at in the country, with colder water temps I find it harder to keep them on. It seems like they'll bite it, they just won't eat it this time of the year. I watched this video a few years back of a deep sea diver that went under water and filmed a guy while he was bass fishing in this clear river. I was amazed at how many times a bass picked up his worm and he was unaware of it. I took this into consideration the following season and started yanking at ever little bump and I ended up catching more fish than I ever had before. Example: that summer I was fishing with my father and I was showing him this technique I desrcibed above. I reeled down and yanked back to show him the motion. Ya know what? A 5 lbs. beauty was on and I didn't even know it. Tricky little bugers. Anyways good luck and I hope this helps a little.

Portable fish finder
I have a portable Eagle that I put on my 2 man bass boat when fishing small water. Bought it about 4 years ago. It has been great. No complaints, except mine doesn't have temp.

big producer
The two biggest I caught last summer were on the same day ( a tad over 5 for both). The first I caught on a 7.5 Junebug Worm (my bait of the summer) while I was working out a backlash LOL!!!! The other I caught on a Junebug/Chart. Lizard. Both were YUM products. Anybody else out there like the YUM product line like I do?
