  1. Seems to be THE trend these days
  2. Ohh yes ...... that's what I will be doing this winter. Alpster sent me all essentials to get started (thanks again ) and I feel kind of guilty I haven't started one yet. I was hoping to have a couple done by the end of summer but it seems like I have been short on time and money this summer ..... and not too many rainy days :
  3. Go crazy Winter is something I love to love to hate. It gives you a chance to recharge your batteries (your personal ones so to speak) so that by the time spring rolls around you are REALLY ready to get after it. To tell you the truth, if I could fish all year round I would probably get burnt out. I usually get burnt out mid summer about every other year or so. I hit it hard this spring, so I got kind of burnt out durning the post spawn blues. I haven't been out in a little over a month and a half. The break was good. As soon as the 100* weather is gone .... I am going fishing!!!!!!
  4. I PM'ed you with my email, but haven't recieved anything in my email. I am in?
  5. I can't say I like it or dislike it. I use it for a couple techniques ...... c-rigging and slop fishing. IMO it's the right tool for those techniques.
  6. Glad to hear you are back safe and sound. Looks like a great time. What part of Colorado did you go to?
  7. Every spinnerbait I have ever bought : Yo-Zuri X-Tex ... the only line I have ever completely despooled (on purpose :) after about 10 cast at the lake
  8. That brought a smile to my face ;D Little worried about your camera there for a minute? : ;D

He is pretty set in his ways LBH. I even offered to give him my old camera. It was/is an old HP. Very basic 3 MP camera and a "perfect fishing camera". Takes good close range fishing portraits, but is so old that if it falls in the drink (I can definitely see your beef with taking a nicer camera out in a canoe)...... who cares. If you have changed your mind, it's all yours 8-)
  10. Last year's BR Champ (aka me ;D) is in
  11. You gotta do what you gotta do. Hurry on back 8-) You will be missed
  12. My dad took me out and taught me the basics (how to tie a knot, cast, etc, etc) at around age 8 or so. We would go maybe a couple times a months. Not really targeting anything. Didn't take me long to figure out bass was my fish. I think at about 13 I realized I needed to get off the bank and saved up to buy a two man bass boat (which I still have and use until this day). My dad made me a deal, I buy the boat ... he would buy the trollong motor. After we got the boat, that's where I started taking over and teaching my dad really. I read every magazine I could find and then tried to apply them to my lake, exploring, trying new things, etc. 10 years later ..... still learning. This website would have dramatically increased the learning curve.
  13. Pretty much word for word the way I feel Cigarlover. I also think the media has played a big role in shaping his personality. In his press conference last night after the game some reporters were asking him questions about steroids and blah blah blah. He replied with attacks back at them. Which I thought were warranted. It's not the time or place to be asking those questions.
  14. In most cases, you would be correct, Avid, but I don't think this necessarily applies in Bonds' case. He is jeered at every ballpark except for Pac Bell, his home park. Many people don't want Bonds to break the record and many just don't want to watch him because they know it is a foregone conclusion the record will be broken, and they hate that fact. Right now, I think he is hurting business as much as he is helping it. Reporters and people who want to say they were there when the record was broken are flocking to the ballpark. The rest of us are disappointed in the travesty that Barry Bonds has become. Did you happen to see the special they did on Bonds maybe a month ago?? Pretty interesting .... and it addressed that very thing. He said yes I hear the boos everywhere I go. If people really hated him that much, they would turn their back while he is at bat. But do they ..... no. They take pictures. Deep down inside, I think lots of people who attended his games on the road would have liked to see him hit a homerun. They realized they had a chance to see something special. And what about the cheers when he tied the record in San Diego?
  15. There are only a select few people who I have told this too, so what's 10,000+ ........ About 5 years ago I am fishing a "new" farm pond with one of my buddies. The day is going fine and then all of a sudden I hear and feel the "gurgle, gurgle, gurgle" in my stomach. Breakfest is not agreeing with me!!!!!!! I immediately drop what I am doing and head for the hills so to speak. I find a VERY small bush to give me a little privacy, take off my shorts(don't want to get them dirty. I must have done this before.hmmmmmm :) and go about my business. About half way through I hear "a" truck coming over a hill near by. Impossible!!!!! I am out in the middle of no where ................... except for that small dirt road that I now see....... d**n!!!!!!! The truck comes over the hill, followed by another, and another, and another .... about 10-12. Truck beds loaded with high school kids and a few kegs. Maybe they won't see me ....... yeah right. The parade of trucks went by and proceeded to honk, yell, and wave :-[ :-[ :-[
  16. Happpy Birthday!!!!!!
  17. Those things always seem to happen at the worst possible times. Happened to us about 3 years ago. I stayed at a friend's house.
  18. So according to that, any "average" major leaguer could wear that elbow guard and put up Barry Bond type numbers? :-/

Within the past few years I have really started to like/appreciate music my grandfather used to play when I was younger/childhood. BB King and Al Green just happen to be two of them. Sounds like a good show and sounds like you had a great time
  20. The end to the suffering is near
  21. Happy 25th Birthday!!!
  22. Well you could always say she had a HUGE tail and claim a 10 ;D ;D
