  1. In the time it would take me to build that shipping container I could personally deliver the rod!
  2. Way to go! This is a milestone that should truely be celebrated!
  3. Oh, yeah! I'm my dad. Went to the same small college, both grew up in Virginia and married Eastern NC girls that we met at that small college, both are in the ministry (preaching at Churches 10 miles apart). We both enjoy hunting and fishing (together)! There are a thousand little things that I could mention, but one memory of our similarities really stands out: When I was in High School my dad bought a brand new Berkley Lightening Rod and a Shimano Spirex 2000 reel to put on it. About the same time I bought the exact same rod and the exact same reel. We didn't know it until we went out fishing together a few weeks later. We do things like that all the time. Yep, I've turned into my dad.....and I'm perfectly fine with that!
  4. I shoot the 3500 (newer version) and love it. I've heard of some cycling problems with the 2000 but each gun is different. I would want to know why the seller is getting rid of it.
  5. Marketing geniuses. You don't even eat the stuff and you know their names!
  6. Seeing people's lives changed for the better. Kids strung out on drugs getting clean, busted relationships restored, crumbling marriages saved and strengthened, and lost souls saved!

J Frank is probably right. They do not contain any type of hazardous material or the trailor would be packarded with the proper identification numbers.
  8. Amen! I pondered having my home phone disconnected because of the annoying calls every night.
  9. Whether you're a Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, one thing we can all unite on is the fact that after today there will be NO MORE POLITICAL ADS!!!!! Well, at least until next week, when the next election cycle starts.
  10. ^ What he said. ^ But on a side note: That's funny! (If I was your neighbor I would get a kick out of it.)
  11. I'm gussing your "big rainstorms" don't leave 50 dead and an estimated $20 billion in damages. I live not far from the OBX, so I'm used to hurricanes. They take lives, destroy property, and just leave a big ol' mess behind. I've seen worse storms down here than what hit NY and NJ. However, the sheer number of people who live up there makes this storm a bigger deal. Down here, thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of lives are affected by hurricanes. Up there, millions are affected. This was a bad storm.
  12. Oh, I get it now....you're from Maryland. Brian, up until this thread I thought MD stood for "Medical Doctor". I was wandering why a doctor was asking a bunch of rednecks a medical question. This begs the question, if you're not a doctor, what do you do for a living? And, good luck with the kidney stones!
  13. No words of wisdom here, but I would like to say I'm sorry you have to do that. I can't even look when the sweet little Red Cross lady sticks a needle in my arm to draw blood, let alone sticking a needle in my arm! Maybe you can pick a fight with your wife and she'll do it for you.....

Fishing baits that I've had for years that haven't even made it out of the package.....
  15. Will do. One of the sweetest ladies in our Church battled breast cancer a few years ago. She kept a positive attitude and won the fight! When she learned that she would most likely lose her breasts, she smiled and said, "Well, now I can get the set I've always wanted!" I hope your sister beats this thing with the same great attitude!
  16. I'm not a betting man. But, if I were, I wouldn't let you fellas pick my "winners"! This is an old applied mathmatics problem that was recently used on the show "NUMB3RS".
  17. A lady from our Church is sitting at the stop sign in our town. I actually saw the google camera car in a neighboring town.
  18. Statistically speaking, you should switch doors. You have a 33.3% chance of picking the right door with your first guess. That leaves you with a 66.6% chance that your first guess is wrong. Eliminating one of the wrong choices dosn't change your initial chances. So, statistically, if you switch doors, you would then have a 66.6% chance of picking the right door and winning a car!
  19. I'm a Cowboys fan. I'm a Cowboys fan who admits that they are not the great franchise they once were. But, the reason for the Sunday Night, Monday Night games is that across the nation, they are one of the most popular teams. Everywhere I've lived there has been a nice contingency of Cowboys fans. Also, if you don't cheer for them, you probably hate them. And, when you hate a team, you love to watch them so you can cheer against them. I do the same thing with the Redskins. So, they get the primetime games because people will watch them. The TV executives aren't idiots. They are after ratings. The Cowboys get the ratings. As far as the Thanksgiving game goes, that's just tradition. It might not be one you like, but it's tradition. Same as the Lions. Tipptruck: If the Cowboys fans have been on their bandwagon for the past four decades, they are not bandwagon fans. They lived through the 1-15 debacle. If they stuck with the star through that, they are true fans.
  20. If you catch the idiot, ask him why his kind choose to key someone else's car. It seems to be an idiot, and mess with some random dude's ride, you should just pee on their tires. It's more personal, gets the point across (whatever the point is), and your idiocracy can be erased with a little soap and water. As you're using his face to buff the scratches out, ask him that for me. Thanks!
  21. This is not true in NC. My wife got a BS in K-6 grade education. However, when she graduated, she took a job teaching Pre-K with the public schools in NC. She was hired on the condition that she go back to school (night classes) and get her Birth-Pre-K add-on license. She did, and has since earned her masters in early childhood education. Two years ago she was took a position in a different county overseeing two Head Start Pre-K teachers who did not yet have their teaching license. Her job was to guide them through getting their degrees/license as their program was grafted into the state More at Four Pre-K program. So, here in NC, Pre-K teachers must have more than a girl scout badge in babysitting. That being said, I agree with your last statement: Stay involved with your kids' education!
  22. Nice! You get many green winged in Fl."

Neoprene. Neoprene. Neoprene. I would reccommend some on the thicker side to avoid rips from jagged rocks and holes from hooks while fishing. The thickness typically has to do with temperature, but I use the same pair for duck hunting in sub-freezing weather and frog-gigging on 90 degree nights, and they work great.
