  1. The only thing that helped that wound of stupidity heal is that all three of the other NFC East teams lost this week. So, we're still a full game up on the Giants for the division!
  2. Don't shoot a swimming duck.......wait until he stops!
  3. Sounds like he got his grandfather's sense of humor!
  4. Great to hear he's alright! The fishing IQ of the forums will skyrocked again when he returns.
  5. I'm a Duke fan, so I'm hoping Ohio State is that good, because if we're that bad, it's going to be a long season!
  6. That's awesome Fanatic! My hunting buddy and I were thrilled to get 6 between the two of us this morning. I can't imagine 6 hunts and 134 ducks. Wow, just wow. By the way, how many dogs do you use?
  7. Sam, you know you were president of Saban's fan club when he was at LSU. I bet you still have a little man crush on him now. Just messing with you Sam.....I can see that your hatred is real!
  8. Duck is great! I just got done eating three breasts, which is a hearty serving for me, but I'm sure a lot of people would eat more at one sitting. A lot of duck hunters have a big feed and cook a few dozen to a few hundred at one time. Also, every big hunter I know has a few people they keep in meat. I duck and deer hunt a little bit, but really love to squirrel hunt. Ironically, squirrel is the only game I don't have a taste for. I've killed 48 so far this season, and easily gave them away to families who were very appreciative.
  9. As a Cowboys' fan, I am excited. We played a bad game and still pulled off a win against a team that was on a hot streak. I'll take it. But, maybe that's because I don't cheer for my team to lose so we can get a better QB!
  10. It's not Les Miles' job to keep LSU out of the endzone. That was the hogs' job.....and they couldn't do it. If you're going to be mad at someone, be mad at your team for playing poorly for three quarters.
  11. Great principle from "The Richest Man in Babylon". There have been a lot of folks get rich off of the 10/90 plan. My parents taught me the 10/10/80 plan (10% to God, 10% to savings/investments, live on 80%). It's worked for my wife and I to the point where we've been blessed to be able to increase the first two, and decrease our living expences. Great point Snook!
  12. Unbelievable. Do you guide?
  13. ...and possibly the two cars wih paymens. Buy a couple of beaters until you get out of debt. They get you from point A to point B (most of the time) and make some great memories!
  14. Well, I guess the lakes have officially froze up in Ill.
  15. We've killed 8 woodies, a green-winged teal, and a goose so far this week. Been trying to get the mallards, but that ain't happening, so tomorrow morning we're going to unleash on our woody hole. Sounds like we need to find a place like Fanatic! By the way, what are you hunting down there? Is there a particular dominant species, or is it mixed?
  16. Pay off the loans as fast as possible, then buy a house that you can AFFORD, not just one that you are approved for. I think that's what Dave Ramsey would say.....
  17. 903 wins, hopefully many more! Go Duke!
  18. I know a lot of you guys either work in construction, or know a lot about the industry. So, what is the average cost per square foot of building a new house these days?
  19. I was able to witness a rare perfect day in the NFL. The Cowboys won (in blowout style)! Then, the Redskins, Eagles, and Giants all lost. Perfect day for Cowboys fans. They don't come around very often, so I'm going to enjoy it today.
  20. Frogtog! Good to see you back! Hope you're catching those Roanoke bass.
  21. Nah. I'll keep my wife, kids, and job I love. I'm just fine with fishing being something fun to do every once in a while.
  22. I've always done the same thing ghoti. I'm ashamed to say that I somehow thought they disinegrated. From now on, they'll go in my pockets. Thanks for posting this.
  23. Have a great trip Bass_fanatic! Why do Churches go overseas to help folks when there are people in their own communities who need help? Well, we use the model of the New Testament, where Jesus tells us to be His witnesses in Jerudalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the utter most parts of the earth. That's kind of like saying, "Help those in your county, in your state, in your country, and all over the world." One of the cool benefits of going on a missions trip is that young folks, who have never helped anybody do anything, will gladly go thinking it's just going to be a vacation. But, when they get there, and have the experience of helping folks, it fires them up, and they help folks in the community when they get home. Also, J Franco has a point. Before you can help someone in the states you've got to get written permission, get them to sign wavers that if somehthing goes wrong they won't sue you, etc. But, overseas, you just show up and work. Anyway, if you don't like the fact that ***atic is leaving the country to help others, I'd like to offer a suggestion as to how you can protest. Tomorrow morning, get a rake and go clean up some old lady's yard in your neighborhood. That'll teach 'em!
