  1. 16:50!!!!!!! That's my mile pace ;D I ran CC and track in High School, but quit running, started fishing, went to college, got married, and got fat. I just started back running in the past few weeks and ran my first 5k since HS on Saturday. It took me 29:12 to finish :-/ Congrats and keep running
  2. As with any organization, the ABA certainly has its faults. However, I fished it in NC (three different divisions if I remember correctly) and I was always treated with respect (which isn't always the case for young guys like myself). All of the directors I had any dealings with were always very helpful, friendly, and took the time to answer any questions I had. My experience with the ABA was all positive (especially winning a little cash ). I'm sorry to hear that the ABA dosn't seem to be as great in other parts of the nation as it is in NC. I guess you guys should just move to Carolina!!! ;D

I think the little green box was the original depth finder
  4. 1981 Buick Skylark (same year I was born). A sweet lady in the Church gave it to me because we were good friends. My second was a 1982 Chevy Scottsdale. The same sweet lady gave me that truck.
  5. Stick around and you'll hear a lot more of it!!! This is a fishing forum, and we all brag a little from time to time!
  6. After today's whopping by Michigan, I'd say it ain't gonna be Notre Dame!!! :)
  7. 8-9 Bandit Crankbait 7-13 Bandit Crankbait 7-5 Bandit Crankbait I caught the 7-13 (my then PB), then about 15 minutes later caught the 8-9. If I would have put my best two together I could have made up one of Chris Fish's (almost) ;D
  8. Hey Bronco, I just read your thread for the first time. Welcome to the site and welcome to the great world of fishing! I saw that you live in Lillington, NC. That's about two hours away from where I live, close to Williamston. I go to Church with a guy who has an awesome pond, several acres and full of nice bass that are pretty easy to catch. I've caught my PB three times this year (7-5; 7-15; 8-9). It's not unusual to go out there and catch 25 bass just messing around. It's a great place to go and try out new lures and tactics. If you ever feel like driving a couple of hours just PM me and I'll give you directions and we'll go catch a few. Bring your wife too as long as she promises not to embarrase us too much!
  9. > What! You are wrong. You probably don't even have a boat. It wouldn't surprise me if you don't even own a truck. You might not even exist Paul, you're so wrong. > Just kidding You don't have to worry about a "flame fest" here! Welcome aboard. This is a good thread.
  10. Earthworm, I would like to find out more about your book. It sounds like something I need (or at least the bait/book monkey is telling me so).
  11. LBH, After looking at (I mean reading) your first post, I have to ask this question: "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" As Avid pointed out, she was a keeper. I couldn't tell you what she looked like, but I saw that nice bass she was holding. That made her a keeper! ;D I'm a blessed man. I've got a keeper. She dosn't go too often, but she dosn't mind me going, and when she does go she can catch them!
  12. Matt, I was just getting on here to find out where you've been with the jokes. Thanks for that one. It's not up to your hight standards but I heard one the other day: A newlywed couple returned from their honeymoon and when the husband was leaving for work the first day his wife asked him to stop by the store on the way home and pick her up a cookbook. He said, "Sure honey, what kind of cookbook would you like?" The new bride thought for a second, then replied, "One that says, 'Step one: Walk into kitchen (that's the room with the refrigerator).'" I hope you guys have wives who can cook. I sure do!
  13. I've been wondering the same thing. I have one more question for people "in the know." Will it peel off or will it stay put forever?
  14. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I can't begin to imagine what you're going through. We're praying for you.
  15. Red Shad and Junebug.
  16. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ; That's a good one! I don't know (and personally don't care) if the World Record is bogus, but I know that statement is bogus! Come on nwgabassmaster, you'd tell the whole world just like the rest of us! I believe George Perry caught a 22+ pound bass long before I believe you could catch the WR and not tell anyone. ;D ;D
  17. Ok, Ok, Ok, who cares if bass fishing is or isn't a sport. I know I opened up that can of worms when I started the post (and thanks KU for expounding opening it up a little wider) but what I really wanted to know is who you think would be the United State's biggest competition. I know it isn't going to happen, but hypothetically (if that's how you spell it) who would win? And who would be our biggest competition? I think we'd definately win with our own version of the Dream Team, but I think Japan would be our closest competition (hopefully in a distant second).
  18. Way to teach a youngster to be a good sportsman
  19. You're crazy!!! If they can pass curling off as a sport, why not bass fishing? I've been trying to figure out this curling thing and the best I can tell it's simply shuffleboard on ice. ;D ;D ;D
  20. I don't know if any of you have been watching the Olympics, but they have just about every "sport" represented. Curling is my favorite ;D I was thinking, if some of these off the wall "sports" are featured at the Olympics, why not bass fishing? I know I'm dreaming, but who do you think would be USA's biggest competition?
  21. No more mixing!!! To me, that's the biggest advantage of most newer motors. Just make sure you do keep oil in your oil tank. Congrats!!!
  22. Insurance is a great thing to have but an awful thing to have to use
  23. Largemouth do this too. Yep. I can remember three different incidents where I got a crankbait back that I lost in a fish's mouth. It's a good thing they float
