  1. How do the MLF score keepers / referees stay in touch? They fish some big waters that must have areas that don't have cell tower coverage.
  2. Bass Pro Ascend Ascend Tournament Kayak Paddle is $79 fiberglass shaft not aluminum. Blades are sturdy.
  3. After I spool a reel I go outside and tie the line to my mail box and walk the line out and stretch it then reel it back in.
  4. I always cast with right hand but have both right and left bait casters. My right thumb likes to lock up (trigger thumb) so it is nice to be able to switch off to the left hand reels.
  5. As suggested test it. If the battery is bad it may be cheaper to just replace the battery rather than get a whole new unit. Or keep a short pair of jumper cables in the boat so if the starter battery died you could start from my trolling motor battery.
  6. I saw something online about adding a willow leaf in place of the rear hook to a lip less crank bait to minimize hangups. Found a package 3 willow blade spins for $2.50 and modified a few lip less crank baits. Now just need to get out and test them. Any tried this yet?
  7. He just wants to be the first on on the water when it thaws.
  8. You have to use some sort of photo editor. Lots of free ones out there. Google "How to reduce image size" for specific suggestions. If your using Windows 10 Photo Gallery go to Edit > Properties > Resize
  9. Don't have that model but had the same problem finding a place to mount the Mk 210 D. I bolted to the back side of the battery hatch cover.
  10. I have a bass boat and a kayak and was kayak fishing before it was a thing and before I could afford a bass boat. Gets you into places you can't go into a boat. There are a few productive small lakes I can go to and have the lake to myself. Kayak fishing forces you to be a minimalist because you can't take all the rods and tackle you carry in your bass boat. Making you a better fisherman in the long run. If I had to give up my the yak or the bass boat I would give up the bass boat.
  11. Add an extra seat mount close to the back edge of the deck and put a seat without a post to use when underway. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-pedestal-deck-plate-kwik-connect
  12. Pros 1. Won't beat up the transducer when it is in the hull. 2. No holes or permanent damage. 3. Easily installed and or removed 4. No need to buy or make brackets. Cons 1. Water temp off a little.
  13. I meant to say the 14 footer was tied at both ends.
  14. For awhile I had a 14 foot and a 10 foot kayak that I car topped only needed to tie the ends to the bumpers on the 10 foot yak. I used cam buckles not ratchet straps on the load bars. Long trips I would stop and check once in awhile to be sure everything was tight.
  15. Re-apply the Gorrilla Tape to the bow (Stern has built in protection) and clean and wax the hull. Clean the interior. Alos check any bolts as others mentioned.
  16. You could put orange reflective tape.
  17. Sounds like they don't want people to come to Vermont. Try contacting the their Fish and Wild Life for clarification. The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department 103 South Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05671-0501 Phone: 802-241-3700.
  18. I have a Motorguide Brute 54 and thinking of getting a 55 lb Minn Kota Power drive 2 because I can get a longer shaft and the Minn Kota is variable speed.. I fish a lot of lakes that gas motors aren't allowed and pull the boat up on the trailer by simply pulling the motor up withe the rope as I get very close to the trailer. My concern is how easy will it be to load the boat on the trailer with the Power Drive 2 trolling motor.
  19. You should watch for spring demos and paddle some different kayaks to see what you like. Don't forget to look for used kayaks as there some really good deals out there that will leave you money to rig the yak the way you want it.
  20. If stored out of the sun and not abused yaks last a long time. I recently sold my 1999 yak and it was still had years of service left in it.
  21. I use a leash on the rod in hand instead of floats. The rods stored on the yak are on adjustable rod holders that can be secured.
  22. Never had a bit of trouble with it.
  23. I had a Force 9.9 that always started one pull. Plus the benefit of cost and weight savings of the battery.
  24. I was thinking of using this only $10 on sale https://www.harborfreight.com/anti-fatigue-roll-mat-61241.html
