  1. yeah.. i reel like a madman when i have a squarebill on the end of my line...
  2. I was just wondering if there was any performance difference between the pt and pts. I noticed when looking at the specs on the side of the box of the pts, bearings were described as a 9 bearing system. The pt on the other hand, was described as 9 pt bearing system. Is there a difference in the quality of these two bearings? I believe the pts might have seals or something to prevent corrosion, does this affect casting distance or fluidity? Please excuse the fact that i cant spell in the title...
  3. Yeah. There are times when fishing through the wood with a crankbait is not what the fish really want.. but i think a lot of the information here will help me when the crankbait is what the fish are looking for. thanks for all the input btw everyone
  4. Yeah thats true.. but it seems like most people are saying the only way to really get through the cover with rounder bills is to learn to feel it out..
  5. yeah, i dont ever really get the hooks stuck lol.. i always seem to wedge the bill in between the branches.. this is how i fish almost all of my squarebills... have you tried this with the rounder bills?
  6. yeah i get a better feel when im pulling with the rod... you pull fast enough that youre keeping in contact with the cover though right?
  7. ohhh i seee.. i can pull squarebills through some pretty thick cover.. im only really having trouble with deeper diving cranks like maybe in the 12 ft range
  8. thats crazy.. when i try that i get stuck lol..
  9. technique wish is there something to do though?
  10. So are you using heavy spinnerbaits and slow rolling?
  11. i been cranking some really heavy wood recently.. and im getting the lip wedged more than anything.. i guess it just requires a slower presentation?
  12. What do you guys find is the best way to effectively fish wood cover with a lot of branches? Im talking about offshore specifically, but i guess the same rules would apply to beating the banks. I've heard a lot of people use the rod to move the bait after contact has been made with the cover.. what do you guys do?
  13. a lot of input.. and all really helpful.. thanks
  14. i know light spools start up easier.. but dont the heavier spools have an advantage also? not sure.. just asking
  15. my cast control is usually set as loose as possible without unnecessary spool movement.. i didn't know if the dual brakes gave more ocntrol or not
  16. so youre saying the dual braking systems require more tinkering to get distance but do in fact cast further compared to the curados whch are set and go but dont cast as far?
  17. yeah i have no problems with my centrifugal brake systems in my curados... I was jsut wondering if the addition of a magnetic braking systems in reels were a step up in your guy's opinions. I didn't know if having an extra braking system that would help with minute adjustments allowed people with the dual braking systems to tune their baitcasters finer than those without. Thanks for all the help though everyone.. extremely informative
  18. have you tried any reels with acs3?
  19. I was wondering what competitive reel companies offer some type of dual braking system in their reels. If anyone has any experiences or comments about them it would be great also. Do you guys think having that extra control over the cast provides a good advantage over those reels with only one form of braking system? Im using a curado for now... thinking about maybe an upgradee
  20. just curious though.. how does the scale count go rolo?
  21. LOL... noooo, no hiding... i guess i dont really need to hide my face... but thanks for the help everyone
  22. ok, thanks for all the help again:]
  23. one more thing tom if i find cover next to some structure... and i cant really see fish in or around the cover... should i fish into the cover anyways if there are bass suspended over or around it?
  24. so i shouldnt be targeting the bass that are suspended over the channel, rather running a crankbait or whatever i choose deeper or underneath them? targeting the fish that are hugging or nearer to the cover or structure that i'm fishing? thanks for all the help again
