I have recently got more interested in crank baits. I don't have a lot of experience with them. The other day I was fishing a 2.5 that was dragging on the bottom. Is there any disadvantage to this vs being off the bottom? Thanks!!

Broke my new rod today.Looking to get another one, but want one more sensitive. What are some I should consider?

I knew it helped with digging, but what is the disadvantage to using much higher lb? Shorter casting length?

I have a rod setup for jig and plastics. I was using stealth braid, but it does not manage well, it digs in line easier. I was using 30lb line but was thinking 50lb 832 would help with the line digging in. What is the disadvantage of 50lb vs 30lb?

How is the stretch compared to mono and fluoro?

I use palamor on braid all the time with no issues.

Anyone use this knot? Is it better than regular palamor knot?

I was mistaken in saying the replacement they sent broke, but it was anther one I bought that did. Makes three total that have broke.

I started using these this year and they work great in shallow areas, but have had issues with lip breaking off. One broke off the first day I used it. Smithwick sent a replacement, but the lip broke today on that one as well. Also had one break today on another one. Is this the norm for them? Is there another brand that is more durable?

Never used a chain drag before, how do I make one? What size chain?

What is the max weight you would use for an anchor? I bought a 5lb fit prong anchor over the 3.5lb one they sell. Is there any pros or cons between the two?

I have heard conflicting info on this. One says straight braid reduces hook ups while another says it is not an issue. Which is it?

I use it at the ponds I fish at, works great. Works in clear or stained water. Deep or shallow. I have caught fish a couple feet from the bank next to a fallen tree in shallow water with the DS.

What lb line fc would you recommend for jig/plastics rod for casting into fallen trees/brush?

Hello, I am trying to up my game in jig fishing this year. I have caught a few in the past on them but not well versed in jigs, so I have a few questions. I fish mostly in ponds and use jigs to throw into fallen trees/brush. 1) Considering I am throwing into trees should I be using braid or is FC ok? I also use same rod for plastic this is why I'm thinking FC. Just not sure how abrasion FC is. I had lost a jig when casting with 15lb seagar invizx with line breaking while jig in the air. Makes me wonder if throwing in trees weakened the line. Any line suggestions appreciated. 2)What at and type should I be using for what I am using it for? Thanks!!
