  1. Great fish and pics man! That fish has wild proportions! NGaHB
  2. Glad it was put out in such a easy to understand way. It was a long time before I knew the diff between structure and cover. It really helped as soon as I got the diff. Ive recently started looking into the connection between structure as the main magnet, and then cover as the next place to look after finding the right structure. Good stuff NGaHB
  3. With that much info I would say to go with finesse presentations. Look into drop shotting and shakey heads, jigs... etc. Also might want to look into copolymer or florocarbon line NGaHB
  4. Its alot more about the baits thickness than the length of the bait. I try to get the gap of the hook atleast twice the size as the thickness of the bait NGaHB
  5. I've seen a bass eat rabbit liver, anything can happen. But you'd prob be better off with more traditional offerings. NGaHB
  6. I appreciate it Shane, I lost one that would top that fish, but I'm making the trip Saturday to the same hole to see what I can pull out. NGaHB
  7. Id get a pack of senkos small hooks and light line and fish it like the guide thread says and you really aught to get one. A senko'll produce almost always.
  8. I really like spun deer hair frogs, expecially the ones with the reinforced flat face, big poppers I suppose. I rarely fly fish, but its a good time when I do
  9. A few years back more money was spent on fishing equiptment than any other consumer sporting goods, even more than golf, might be different now, but either way alot of folks are spending alot, mostly adults I would say. If a lure holds up to catching 100 fish then your doing pretty good even at $15 per lure, saying that you manage not to loose the bait. I fish alot of swimbaits, with a huddleston trout costing $25. With that being said I've caught 6 fish on one Hudd, with an average fish weight of 9 pounds, and its still kickin. Worth the investment to me. NGaHB
  10. As soon as I see them shallow I go for it, which probably is around 55, just never thought about it in degrees before
  11. Im going 99% normal ol LM. NGaHB
  12. I use to use a 4'6" ultra light for trout, but have moved to longer rod exclusively. I dont have a rod under 7' anymore. NGaHB
  13. This was done by Fish Scale Taxidermy, this is one of their "budget" models, which you can see in the mouth mainly, but I was plum tickled with it. Planning to talk to them about finding a way to recreate my first teen fish here soon. NGaHB
  14. Awesome day! Id take for like that over 40 dinks any day NGaHB
  15. Never used these myself, but I know a fella that swears by them. He uses a 5" big hammer swimbait on them http://www.cabelas.c...r:referralID=NA NGaHB
  16. Killin em man. The Hudd bite has been wild this year here in the SE, seeing a LOT of big fish. Great job man NGaHB
  17. Id take and sink a few christmas trees, and or brush out there in it, You could really make them produce better within a season or so. That is if you can get it in there without getting a HOA official on your back side. NGaHB
  18. I don't think youll regret this. NGaHB
  19. Their gills are real weak points, like BBlvd said. They die from time to time, such is life, next time, if they seem like a lost cause, throw en on ice and either eat em, of find someone that would. Im not a fan of bass, but alot of folks love em NGaHB
  20. I cant remember what type of genetic trait is is, anyone into ball pythons could tell you, but its a genetic trait that will pop up in reptiles, and in turn fish as well. Very cool stuff I attached a pic of a LM with the same thing, not caught by me, tho there is one in a cove near my house with what looks like a mustache, but refuses to bite. NGaHB
  21. Haha, Ive been up there enough lately im probably close to it. NGaHB
  22. Now thats an accomplishment, youve got a serious shot at your state record. NGaHB
  23. A gallon of water weights ~8.34 gallons, which is around the weight your trying to test, fill up a milk jug and see what you get. NGaHB
  24. haha, no worries, I dont even have a sister! I'll send a PM and point you in the general direction. The cardiff has been awesome, holds plenty of 25# CXX for me, and has handled some serious fish NGaHB
