I have a Savage 93R17 BVT that I have set up as a target/ long range varmit gun. I shrank my groups alot by just polishing the internals of the trigger, dropping it to less than a pound resulted in dime size groups, when I dont throw one (a rare occasion) NGaHB

Unless you manage to get him in the ear its a risky deal in my opinion, more so than a 22lr by far. I'm sure youve seen the explosive qualities of a 17 HMR, which can lead to a real shallow exploded patch. On the scope tho, I was tempted to get one myself, but decided to go with a Simmons Atex and have been real happy

If you get too hard up for a suitable replacement, you can get on TU and see about getting some custom painted for you

I like all my Kistlers, but haven't paid near sticker price due to Kistler warranty problems I keep hearing about. But I like my LTAs better than any other rods I have dealt with. NGaHB

That dosen't surprise me, you can tell how he interacts with the people on his show. Hes going to have to find a scale if hes going to get back in the game, he seems to double the weight every time he talks about a fish on the show

Im currently using a flipping stick to throw my swimbaits... its miserable. If your looking to throw hudds get a rod that will handle them well, the Okuma would fit perfect. You can also go to bass pro and look at some musky rods, those guys throw baits that make a 8" hudd look like a weightless worm. NGaHB

If Bill Dance got back in the mix Id have to go to a few weigh ins, Roland is real entertaining, but Dance does more teaching, IMO. NGaHB

Congrats, bass fishin can be a really relaxing time, or a hectic obsession, and I appreciate both aspects. You have a decent setup to start off with, so no need to go buyin something diff. Read, read and read... but be sure to take time to fish as well. If you get a few baits to take care of the entire water column you should be good. Bottom- T-rigged worms will work all year long. I suggest two or three types you like in a dark and a light color Middle- Some spinner baits (inline or regular bass style ones) Top- a few poppers or spooks And you got it made to get an idea how to work most baits. I use buzz baits A LOT during low light conditions, and personally believe sound has alot to do with drawing that bite. I find baits that squeek, gurgle and slowly crawl to get a variation. I have thrown a black squeeker for an hour, then switched to a black gurgler and gotten a bite first cast, or visa versa quite a few times. NGaHB

Dawia makes a nice spinning reel. The Pfugler should be pretty nice too, my buddy uses them and they hold up well. But Id go with the Dawia NGaHB

not sure how its done, but I would guess your name is under a layer of the same epoxy that holds everything else together. so however people salvage blanks should take that epoxy off. Rod builders could explain the easiest way

Their Guide Series Big Bait rods seem to be the gold standard for swimbait rods. I'm lookin forward to getting one myself here soon. NGaHB

I used a bag that would hold 3 360 planos in the main compartment, then got a god awful expensive fanny pack, and settled on the same back pack that sat in the corner for years. But they all have their positives and negatives. NGaHB
