  1. Is there anywhere to learn the baisics? I've actually got three Air brushes and even a compressor just for air brushing, but still haven't done it yet.
  2. Aren't they on the Red River again..... Just based on how they fished there last-Skeet, IKE, and it's close to home for Duckett. KVD, just because he has been unstoppable the last few years. That would be my top 4 in any given order.
  3. COOL! We made some changes around the house that included dropping the package that had the outdoor/sportsman/wfn channels, so I'm reduced to whatever is on NBC Sports. Really glad to have some of the programming I liked from WFN on!
  4. Same experience....05' Tracker Pro V16, came with a 40lb stock....Was ok in glass calm conditions. Otherwise, in wind, you would get blown off the lake. Upgraded to a 65lb 24v motor, and even though it was only 25lb more thrust, it made a WORLD of difference. And was big enough for fishing about any wind. (especially in conjunction with the kicker motor) With that in mind, I upgraded from a 55lb motor to a 70lb motor, but haven't used it yet.
  5. Virtually all of my fishing was in the creek in the back yard, that empties into the lake. My boat was a project that lasted all year. So, everything I used was as natural and/or subtle as I had. Some 3-1/2" Stickbaits, rigged wacky, with no weight, pumpkin jig/chunk combo's, that was the bulk of my lures used. Just heavy enough to carry down stream. Not sure what it's called, but the same way I've always fished for salmon in the Pierre Marquete. Cast up stream, current carries down stream. No contact repeat. Of course there are targets through out, but you just have to cast up stream so the current carries into the target.
  6. I've always used Big Game on moving baits too. However, this season I think I'm going to look for a changeup. I'm OK with some stretch but the big game stretches A BUNCH. So I'll be looking for a mono, not too expensive, not a bunch of stretch, abrasion resistant, and strong for the diameter. I may just start using Y/Z hybrid for this application, in 10lb test.
  7. The voice recorder, IMO is a great idea. I haven't done it yet, but was planning to this season. I suspect it will be GREAT. I think it will make waypoint ID easier too. On my old school LCX15, I'll be able to just mark a waypoint, and be done....Give the number, and what I'm marking on the voice recorder, then when I get home go back to the waypoint number, and use other ID symbols, notes, or whatever, and can also use that to mark what the way point is on the map.
  8. Me too. In fact, I'd like to trade a Loomis SHR I have for someone willing to trade off TWO of the BPS rods for my ONE Shakey Head Rod.
  9. That is what I do. Maybe the stretch of mono helps me to no problems hooking, or holding fish....For the most part, I think the moderate rod for crankbaits bit, is overplayed. But that is just my opinion.
  10. To light of power? Or, to slow of action? MH is fine for deep cranks, I don't care for the moderate action that so many are using. It's possible that some of the pro's use the more moderate actions because they are cranking with flouro. I still use mono, but prefer a faster action, stiffer rod for deeper cranks. Rods can vary a bunch to. A M from one manufacturer can be a much stiffer rod than a M from another manufacturer.
  11. Ya, I'm no NFL fan, but it's nice to get behind the local/underdog team. From what I've watched this year, some improved o-line play would help. Would be nice to pick up a veteran, but still very good linebacker also.... Best might be OK. He's just been hurt....
  12. This post makes no sense. So are you saying it will be expensive, no matter what, and deal with it, or that it can be inexpensive?
  13. I follow the Celtics as much as I can. I would buy the NBA package through the cable company, but it's just an extra expense we don't need. But anytime they are on the cable channels, I'm watching. I used to HATE the NBA. But as college B-ball evolved into what it is today, I've come to enjoy the NBA a bunch. It's my 2nd favorite sport to College Football. I'd like to watch New York, and the Clippers some this year too, maybe OK City too since I really haven't payed any attention to Durant, and it's obvious he is a great offensive player.
  14. I always respond with...KVD does it, and if you can fish faster, or win more money doing it "the right way" by all means do so.
  15. It's a reel being built to compete with the Revo Toro.
  16. I would say the Falcon Lowrider series. I haven't bought any in a while, but when I looked recently they have gone up quite a bit. I have a 7'MH Lowrider, that would make an OK jig rod, but I use it for big crankbaits
  17. My favorite is a lure nobody uses, and I sure as heck aint' gonna post it on here. But your standard Robo worm is hard to beat too.
  18. I don't understand why everyone abandoned the Trilene knot. Not only is one of, if not the strongest, but IME is the best for Flouro too. I'm basing that off personal experience though. No idea what knot wars found in their tests. I even go the lazy route and sometimes do the same Trilene knot when drop shotting, and use the stand out hooks. Works for me. (though I am going to get away from those hooks, and back to regular hooks)
  19. I don't see myself buying one anytime soon, but I'd like to have the Loomis DSR. I've found the 6'10 length to be just about right for spinning rods. I guess Ideally I'd like a 7' rod, and 6'6 or so rod for casting DS, and vertical DS. I think the 6'10 ends up being a good comprimise No idea about the action though. Never used on.
  20. They just posted on Facebook about it. Their new episode starts tomorrow, and will re-air on Saturday. Also, found that Hook n Look is on Outdoor channel exclusively which SUCKS bigtime, since I don't have it, and it is a GREAT show.
  21. You don't think those oils are VERY heavy for spool bearings?
  22. Haven't fished one yet, but I can't imagine the A-rig has that much pull. In musky fishing a 2 oz lure has WAY, WAY more pull then even some 15oz lures. (double 10/13 blades vs soft plastic Bulldawg)
  23. Two of my favorites Kim Stricker's Hook N Look, and Lindner's Angling Edge, are on WFN. I don't have it with our new package, so I hope both of those are on VS
