  1. I've been looking into Meramace, Big Piney, Little Piney, and Gasconade. I'm not looking for secret holes or pools I just want to know what river to go to and how to get to a spot to launch.
  2. Where do you guys like to fish in the Ozarks? (Missouri) I'm trying to find a river or creek to go to and i'm having trouble finding one that's good for bass. It doesn't matter if it's a gravel bar access or MDC I just want to go. Please do tell where I need to go.
  3. Thanks everybody for all your posts! I'll be getting either the skeet reese micro heavy rod or the 7'6" MH veritas during the spring classic sale, still a really tough decision!!
  4. I was going to buy a skeet reese rod but I've heard to much about their poor quality and low sensitivity. Does anybody have any suggestions on a 7'6" Heavy pitching rod for close to $100? I won't be fishing grass mats
  5. Very good idea to take my reel in with me next time, thought of that after i went to BPS today..... the two rods have the same 3/8-1 1/2 rating and 12-30lb line rating so the only difference besides the name is one is the micro honeycomb series and the other is the s-curve. Does guide size really matter with braid? I'll be using 50lb. sufix
  6. I'm wanting to buying a rod to pitch with and I've narrowed it down to a skeet reese rod. I know they make a pitchin/flippin, a pitchin, and a heavy cover rod. I don't want the big 8' rod because its really unbalanced so it's down to the other two. They are both 7'6" Heavy fast action rods but the heavy cover rod is lighter. I guess what I'm asking is which of the two is better?
  7. That's what I want to use it for, not really ice fishing but there is some ice on the water on oklahoma lakes, just not enough to stand on lol.
  8. Anyone use braid when fishing on docks for winter crappie? wanting to buy suffix ice braid 6 lb. for sensitivity but don't know about negative, if any, around brush.
  9. Recently I tore my right ACL and just had surgery this morning. I won't be able to fish for about 3 months, but I went to a small local lake Tuesday evening and caught a 3lb. spot. It felt so good catching that fish and I thank good for giving me a big smile. God is good!!!!!!
  10. Nope and i'd like to think I know a thing or two about topwater baits, lol. Ever heard of a Upshot made by luck e. strike? It should interest you.
  11. I want to buy a copolymer line for my topwater rod but what are the advantages? Disadvantages? Is it any different from a good mono?
  12. About the Falcon Clark Wendlandt Cara rod. Is it similar to the Bucoo rod or is it alot better? The reason I ask is I picked up a M Bucoo rod this weekend and it seemed pretty flimsy, and at comparing pictures of the two Falcon rods I can't tell a difference except in graphite quality.
  13. I'm a student at Missouri S&T and I love to fish, and I don't mean with a worm and bobber. I'm trying to find some public lakes or ponds or rivers where I can catch a fish. I have been to Little Prarie and had no luck due to it being so shallow around the shore, Lions Club Park and caught one small bass out of atleast ten trips, and found out that a really awesome lake wasn't public anymore. Please tell me where to fish!! LOL

  15. I've gotten my gf to go fishing with me a few times but i can't seem to get her to go with me that much. She always comes up with some kind of scapegoat. How can I get her to go with me more???
  16. Thanks for all the advice everybody! I'm going to Bass Pro this weekend to look at the Veritas, Carrotstix, and Skeet Reese rods. They seem to be great rods for the price. I'll keep reading posts if someone wants to change my mind.
  17. I'm looking for a good rod to double as a topwater and jerkbait rod. I've been looking around on the internet and have found several different rods and characteristics. I have seen where a M backbone is the best option but if I were to use a deep jerk bait I would want a MH. As for tip action I was thinking about going for Moderate or Moderate Fast just because I will get more action out of the lures and have better hookups than with a Fast action. Any advise???
