  2. a'ight! thx for the advice. But, how long does that set last? My first rod was from Dick's and lasted me a year, well I was only 10 when my dad bought me that set. ;D
  3. Hi Guys, I need some help finding a decent combo for senko fishing and would use it for other plastic as well. I prefer to buy a spinning combo, since it is for my wife and I am sure she doesn't want to use baitcaster. And my budget is at 150-200 dollars, any help would be appraised it. I looked at shamino. Would I be able to get a decent set with my budget level?

  7. Nice selections. What would be your most productive lures for this season?
  8. Thank You guys, I have called it in and saved that number.
  9. Yeah, I think I would do that. Plus those gold fishes are going for at least 3-4 dollars each, so he must have spent close to 100 dollars just to buy gold fishes.
  10. An almost perfect day! I was fishing on my local lake yesterday, and it produced decently in the morning. I stopped fishing around 11:00am to get lunch, and came back right after. There is a cove right by a bridge I have fished at, and I have always caught at least a fish per outing. Since the fishing was pretty slow in the afternoon, so I decided to give that a try. After an hour, I wasn't having any luck, spinnerbait, worms, cranks, and nothing works. A moment later, I saw someone holding a surfing rod heading my way. Hmm, what is he fishing for, I am wondering? He camped not far from me, and opened up his minnow bucket. At that time, I though he was going for crappies. Oh was I wrong, he jigged a gold fish weightless. It is not those 20 cents gold fish you can buy from the pet store; it is something you would see in a fish tank. So, he casted it off and OMG! A moment later, he caught a 4-5lber. He must have at least 2 dozens of those gold fish in there, and I was having fun watching him. Our state got a limit of 5 bass over 12 inches per day, but he must have kept at least 10 fish. I tried to talk some sense into this guy, but hey he doesn't listen and kept on fishing. Probably after another hour or so, he walked away with more than 15 decent size bass in a cooler. Here goes my favorite spot! And few friends said, using gold fish is not even legal here. I hope that axxhole stop messing with folk's fishing spots. :'(
  11. Actually, I dont have any luck with cranks. And I am sure it is because I dont know how to fish them...haha! But I will lost few plastics here and there.
  12. I have lost at least 3 spinnerbaits, and some plastics from shore. I do have those expensive lures, but I will only put it on when I get to fish from a boat.
  13. Definitely a lot action fishing with that pole, catching a 5lb catfish is like fighting a tuna
  14. tricked
  15. I got a full time job, but still in school. does that count? lol! pm sent.
  16. I use marabou jigs from cabela, and had some luck with white or chartreuse. Also, I have a 121 piece crappie jighead kit it lasted me few years. I like using tubes since it gives me better results, and I fish them slow. Good Luck cathing them.
  17. If you are fishing from the shore like I always do, then you would need to find them first. Few times I went out, got few dozens of minnows and fish around the lake or pond until I found a good stock of crappies. Then, I will switch to small tubes and jig after I know where they are located. I agree with sqhertz if you want ur GF to enjoy fishing, then go with minnows.

I fish them once a while with my wife. They love grass shrimps and wax worms. I have caught some big perch, and they taste pretty good.
  19. I fish T-rig style with Berkly powerworms. But if I am able to see the fish(sometimes), I will go weightless.
  20. You can just drop it at that preferred distance. It is a way for the bait to look natural, so fish will not get scared away by a splash. But this pole only works for pan fish, I won't recommended for bass fishing.
  21. Actually, I saw few folks fished at the local lake here with those long rods. And it is very popular at asia, I was over there for a week long conference call and they took me fishing. It was kind of fun, and something different. A long leader goes on the tip of the rod, and a slip bobber works well with them. You will extend the rod to a point, and fish on.
