Spinnerbait Trailers?
I always fish with one, it has really increased the size of the fish I catch because it increases the profile of the bait. I use the Yum spinnerbait trailers in chart flake with the red tips on the twin tails.

go to bait
Fat Ika, watermelon with chart tail, Spinnerbait, black and chart. with double colorado in gold. If i'm really desperate, I will use a natural colored pririgged creme worm. (I know it sounds goofy, but my dad still swears by them and can usually always catch fish.)

A Few Words for Christmas
Also, please be supportive of those who have dealt with tragedy during the holiday season, no matter how long ago the event took place. 2 years ago my cousin shot himself Dec. 26th. He was never able to deal with the holidays since his wife and daughter died in a car wreck on dec. 20th about 25 years ago, and his son died in a car wreck on dec. 21st about 22 years ago. So please look out for them, the holidays are always a hard time.

fishing pressue
We have 9 ponds that we cycle through. I don't really see any pressure issues. Even on the one we have fished the hardest this year, we can still go catch fish, and good sized ones, every time we go. We only fish catch and release and some selective harvest. Your question about lure shyness, we usually catch fish on the same types of lures. Each pond has its own lures that seem to work, but they don't change that much.

cajun red line
I checked the spool and it was Redcast. As far I'm concerned it is only good for backing, which means it is junk.

cajun red line
I never had any problem with abrasion resistance, my problem was with the ridiculous memory that the line would have after just one use. I tried to stretch it also, but nothing seemed to help.

Pinnacle Platinum Plus Baitcasting Reel
I am one of the fishin' buddies hawgin speaks of. I have two of the Vision LP Metals and absolutely love them. They seem to cast just as smooth as Hawgin's Pfluegers and they also hold up to the abuse pretty well. Rogers in Liberty, MO gave me the name and number of a guy in Independence MO that services them, but I seem to have misplaced it. Just give Rogers Sporting Goods in Liberty a call and ask them for his name and number. The girls there swear by him, and they usually know what they are talking about.

Whats your favorite spinner bait set up???
I have been using an Abu "Super 7" 7' composite rod with a daiwa procaster and Suffix Siege 12# I am changing my rod to All Star Classic 6' medium fast. I think this will help me with my accuracy and the weight difference will help decrease the wear and tear on my arm.

Albino bass ?
I'm guessing, but aren't trout and more commonly hatchery grown? That would explain the large numberof pictures available. They would have a better chance of getting to a size that is survivable in the wild. Bass aren't as comonly grown in the hatchery and would therefore not have as high of a rate of survival when born in the wild. Just some reasoning in my own mind.

"Bargain" rods 'n reels
Some reels no one ever talks about that are a good value are some of the Pinnacle reels. I have two Vision LP Metal reels. Paid $69.00 for one and $79.00 for the other and both are great reels. Also the Daiwa Procasters are a great value. As far a rods go, I don't think you can go wrong with the All-Star rods. Second choice would be the Pinnacle Matrix series rods. Both are available under $100.00.

Record Bass
BASS, I do respect your right to your opinion, but I don't understand where the difference in the two is. I own 2 ponds, and fish several others, and I would expect the same consideration for any fish I caught for a record as anyone else would get. That goes for me or anyone else we let fish.

Record Bass
My question is why shouldn't it. Are you telling me that a pond managed for trophy bass is any different than one of the lakes in California that has a high length limit and is stocked with adult trout for feed. Seriously, if that isn't a double standard I don't know what is.

Late Fall Tactics Question
We have pretty much the same weather pattern as you are fishing here in Kansas City. Hawgin and I were out last Friday and slayed them on both colorado and willow spinnerbaits. Mostly Chartruese and Black, also shad pattern. We also caught several on a texas rigged sweet beaver in watermelon red flake or the new beast in a watermelon black flake. Fish the t-rig with no bigger than a 1/4 oz. weight and just let it settle to the bottom, then work it in real slow. The SB's were working both slow rolled and about medium speed.

Buzzbaits/Spinnerbaits with a trailer?
I always fish a trailer on my spinnerbaits. I prefer the yum twin tail spinnerbait trailer, either chartruese/flake with red tips or white. I use them spring, summer, fall and winter. They really seem to increase the profile of the bait and it seems to increase the size of fish that I catch on them. Also, I always use a trailer hook.

blister
People think i'm crazy for saying this, but, hold a big wad of chew over the sore. Burns like hell but it will be feeling better immediately after. Just put the chew on it for 15-20 minutes. It really speeds the healing process

Ika - too fat?
I searched for the right hook and tried several different ones this year and the best one I have found is the Owner Wide Gap Plus. I usually use a 5/0 or 4/0. This also has the z-bend shoulder and that seems to help keep the ika from tearing as much. It also makes a good frog hook.

Is C-Rig only used on casting gear?
I don't know if this is crazy or not, but can you fish a C-rig on spinning gear if you have a heavy and sensitive enough rod? I can not get the casting down for the C-rig on my baitcaster and I think it might be easier to cast it on my Gander Mountain 6'8" mh spinning rod. Is this worth a try?

eating bass?
I think bass actually taste better than catfish. We eat a few each year. We might keep a stringer full a couple times a year. It is actually good for the population to take out some fish every once in a while. If you want to cook bass, soak them in beer overnight, best way to fix them ever.
