  1. My little brother works at office depot and got me a $95 jansport labtop bag for $9, haha. Its awesome, i put one plano box in the laptop slot, all my plastics in the main bag, hook/weights/line goes in the front pocket. Has a lower pocket for pliers and lipgrip. Side pocket for knife, license, gloves, and other side for scale and tape measure. Absolutely love this bag.
  2. You can get a shimano sahara for $60 online right now, id scoop one of those up quick
  3. Aaron Martens or ike would be my choice. Ike only lives 30min away, would love to get on one of the local lakes with him...
  4. I highly recommend the keitech easy shiner, in 4 or 5 inch, i use both and its by far the best soft swimbait ive used yet. When it comes to hard swimbaits, i really like the sebile magic swimmers, and river2sea s-wavers.
  5. Ive been using the dobyns 682 champion and phenix 6'9 m1 light. I prefer these rods because they can throw a dropshot or shakeyhead with no problem. When it comes to line, i use 10lb power pro and a 6lb flouro leader. When you use braid for 99% of your fishing then switch to full flouro its horrible. I dont mind taking the extra minute to tie a double uni or alberto knot....
  6. I also like to collect and have it all technique specific. In the past few years ive got down to a hand full of rod makers that i like and will stick too. With reels im pretty much shimano/daiwa only. But i dont like duplicates, and as silly as it is, i really like matching my rods and reels by color and with what looks good.
  7. Good deal, thats what i payed for my fj 1000. I love that reel, very solid...
  8. Ive downsized and upgraded. top -> bottom 7'2 Shimano Cumara M/H ------ Shimano Stradic CI4 2500 6'9 Phenix M1 Light ------------- Daiwa Fuego 1000a 6'5 Shimano Cumulus ---------- Shimano Sustain 1000 6'3 Fenwick Smallie Elite Med- Shimano Stradic FJ 1000 I also have a Dobyns 682 Champion i have to find a reel for...
  9. I hear great things about the sunline sniper but i love the p-line flouroclear in the green mist color. I use the 6,8, and 10lb for all my finesse fishing and its great, plus its cheap.
  10. Im loving the 6'9 light m1 for dropshot, shakeyhead, and 4 inch senkos. I haven't had the opportunity to handle a recon but from what i hear there awesome rods as well. Besides the lightness and sensitivity, the m1 looks really nice.
  11. Yozuri Pins minnow is the best jerkbait ive ever used followed by the xrap. I think the pointer is a great bait but overrated...
  12. I agree with this, i have no reason for a baitcaster. Ive pulled 6lb bass and a 10lb muskie in with a stradic 1000 and medium action rod, lol.
  13. I agree with this, m1 or endurance would be my favorites in that price range...
  14. I love the cultiva lures. The mira vibe lipless crank is my favorite, i do very well with that one. I also have the tango dancer and the zip and ziggy.
  15. Nice fish and reel choice. I have my ci4 on a 7'2 cumara and love it
  16. My gf's dad got me some saltwater lures. My gf got me a few fishing books. My brother got me a TW giftcard which got me some lures, hooks, and frogs. I bought myself a 6'9 light phenix m1, a 6'5 shimano cumulus, and a shimano sustain 1000, it was a good christmas,
  17. I only using spinning reels so im always eager to get my hands on high end reels to test them out. I get tired of hearing the same old saying, "buy high end baitcasters and just get a $50 dollar spinning reel" lol. I finesse fish 100% of the time, thats what i like and enjoy so im going to have the best reel for the job. I think the best budget reel you can buy is the stradic fj 1000/2500. Thats my workhorse reel i take when i dont mind it getting beatup in the boat or kayak. At around $135-140 its an awesome reel. Next step up is the ci4, i have the 2500, at 7ozs its superlight, i love this reel just wish it had the x-ship. This year i went above the budget a bit and got the sustain 1000. At 6.5ozs, super smoooth and has x-ship its my favorite reel ive ever used before. Its a $330 reel i found for $230 on ebay. My last reel i use is my daiwa fuego 1000a. 6.5ozs, its very light and smooth, i love to use it for dropshot and other finesse plastics. This is a $300 dollar reel that i got for $100 at the TW Sale this year. When i got back into fishing a few years back first two reels i bought was a sedona 500 and sahara 2500 which i still have. For lower end reels there great and still really smooth. But like anything i love to upgrade and find the stradic is a really good happy medium, thats what id recommend to anyone. Pfuegers are nice but i prefer shimano/daiwa....
  18. Thats a nice collection you have there
  19. Santa was good to me this year, got a 6'9 light phenix m1, a 6'5 shimano cumulus, and a shimano sustain 1000. The black bag is what i use on foot, the orange bag is all my plastics, and those are all my plano boxes filled with topwater, cranks, jerkbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, frogs and spinners.
  20. Im a topwater nut and not crazy about buzzbaits. I stick with walk the dog lures mostly, poppers, and frogs/horny toads. I like throwing the zoom horny toads, you can cover alot of water very fast, there weedless, and you can cast them a mile...
  21. As this is my favorite style of fishing ive tried alot of lures and got it down to my two goto baits. 1. Luckycraft Sammy 85, ms aurora shad, ive hooked up to 6lb bass on this lure, always keep an extra. 2. Yozuri Banana boat in tennessee shad. I put a bigger hook on the back. This is an awesome lure as well, bought a lot of 8 on ebay this year since there discontinued..
  22. I have two rods that i use for dropshotting. My dobyns champion 682 and phenix 6'9 ml m1. There both awesome rods, i like buying rods that can throw a few different baits...
  23. Thats my perch rig when im fishing deep water...
  24. Ive been known to eat a sandwich and chips while reeling in a fish
