  1. I was talking with my local Shimano rep, the new Crucials will not have EVA grip, they are going back to cork.
  2. Custom paint, Wire tied by hand, high quality swivels, the ability to choose your weight and blade size all for $5.00? For me nothing else compares to Siebert Outdoors.
  3. Line is a tool just like a rod/reel, everything has it's purpose for me it all depends how I'm fishing the spinnerbait. Burning heavy 3/4-1oz+ blades gets #25 Super Natural to keep it up in the water column, fishing 3/8-1/2oz around cover/grass #30 PP gets the nod.
  4. Always have a trailer hook!
  5. I just placed a order with Siebert Outdoors for something similar that I could not find any longer, 3/4oz with small painted blades designed for burning big flats for Smallies. Mike was more then helpful in getting me everything I was looking for.
  6. Anything that is 10 ply/E rated. I run 10ply not only on the truck but I have 10 ply tires on my trailer. They have stronger sidewalls and can handle the bounce going down the road. Less chance of a blow out and that's peace of mind.
  7. Bite Me Big Dude Goby Head's I mostly use 1/2&3/4oz also paired with the SK Coffee tubes
  8. A few of the ladies
  9. The simple weight differnce was enough for me to sell mine, to me if you want the Cadillac of reels big, heavy, and the fancy digital controls find a Calais, if your looking for the Ferrari of the pack it is the Metanium fast, lightweight and sexy as all hell!
  10. If I could only pick one setup out of my line up to be that "go to" combo it would be the NRX893/ METXG #15 Tatsu. I have yet to find anything that comes remotely close to this pairing.
  11. My TR176 holds my 7'8" sticks no problem! But agree that Rod Gloves are a necessity!
  12. I work the tip down and have not had any problems but that also may be because I come in at 6'3"
  13. Look into the 733C as a option, I currently use the DX743 for spooks and could not be happier. All 3 will work great SS733,733C,DX743. I chose the 743 as I find it has that faster tip I want for working top waters, the champion and savvy series are a tad slower. The 704cb gets all my other topwater work.
  14. NRX893 t-rigged weightless, DX763sf wacky rigged weightless
  15. Most definitely the 735C! While it is a tough choice. With a 1/2oz jig+skirt+a trailer you are at or over 3/4oz, will the rod handle it? Yes ofcourse but I find the sweet spot on the 734 is right at 1/2oz. When I'm on a jig bite and I have both the DX744 & DX745 on the boat, I will limit the 744 to 3/8. Above 3/8oz, I'll use the 745. As much as I love the 745 the 735 always has a place on my deck there is just something magical about the tip it has, soft enough to pitch those lighter baits yet has instant power when you need it.
  16. Dobyns DX744/#50 PP Jigs/plastics up to 1/2 oz. Dobyns DX745/#50 PP Jigs over 1/2 oz. Dobyns DX795 Flip/#65 PP Flipping/Punching 1/2oz-1oz1/2. Dobyns 735C/#65 PP Frogs Dobyns 734C/#40 PP Spinnerbaits,Buzzbaits,Toads.
  17. Gambler EZ Swimmer is a favorite of mine.
  18. I have two colors of frogs in my box, Black & White no need for anything else.
  19. Preaching the 110’s action, I found that Fluoro made the bill dive and mess up that beloved side to side rolling action. I prefer mono’s buoyancy and stretch when using Jerkbaits.
  20. Power Pro Braid Sunline Mono Seaguar Fluoro
  21. Since you are looking to pull double duty with the setup I would be learning towards mono&braid fluoro will not perform well when using topwater, a big factor of what line you choose will come down to the rod your using, there are lots of guys out there using braid but are using them on softer crankbait specific rods to deal with the lack of stretch. Both have their benefits I fished #12 supernatural last season on a 704cb this year Ill be using the 684cb #20 PPSS tied to a leader.
  22. Definitely water temp last year up here on the St.Lawrence we had bass on beds June 30th,This year if things keep going the way they are they will still be there well into July.
  23. Dobyns 735C this rod has magical powers.
  24. I'm the same as the rest of the crowd here, DX745 strickly for jigs, 735C for frogs.
  25. Pretty sure Memorial Day will be the next one.
