  1. Durability is much better. Action is like your average paddle tail. I like the very wide tail kick from the keitechs at low retrieve speed. The Speed Shad does not have it. It's a good swim bait, but for the same price, I prefer the Keitechs.
  2. Go back through your Gopro footage. Full screen and pause on the screen you wish to screenshot. Move the mouse off screen and when the screen is clear hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Now, open Microsoft paint or MS word, now hold the Ctrl Key and press "V" or simply right click and click paste. Save the file as a pic and VOILA.May be an easier way but that's one way to do it.
  3. Spring is considered the ultimate time to throw these lures, so that may have something to do with it. Never used that brand, but just wanted to chime in on other possibilities. But hey, they must be good if they sell out, even in key season!
  4. I am a fan of the river 2 sea spittin wa as well.
  5. My favorite hollow body is the River 2 Sea Spittin' Wa. My favorite buzz frogs are the 42 Tackle Conpany 42 Toad and the Stanley Ribbit.
  6. I actually like the Squirrel tail worms by big bite baits. The tail end is a different material and floats high. I have had good luck with the strike king 3x elaztech finesse worms as well, though.
  7. My biggest problem with trailer hooks is how I fish my spinnerbaits. I toss them into some NASTY stuff... Lay downs (my #1), sparse pads, and above/through fairly heavy grass, maybe even around stumps. The waters I fish are so grassy and snaggy (bayous and rivers) that I just can't afford to use a trailer hook. However, if I am in an open water / lake situation, it's definitely an option. As silly as it sounds, they almost completely replace squarebills for me. If I'm using the trailer hook, I don't mind using the small split tail trailers that come with my z man chatter baits. However, my preference is to just use skirts that have the little "trailer" strands built into them. If I am not using a trailer hook, I prefer a 3 inch mister twister "meeny" grub, either in chartreuse or blood red.
  8. Congratulations man! The 5 lb mark can be a tough one to crack for some, depending on the areas you fish. It definitely was for me! Congrats on the new PB and the great pic!
  9. I was just joking. I actually had no idea what the bait was so I found some underwater footage. Looks good.
  10. Pics or it didn't happen!
  11. Square bills would be great in the rip rap, but you'll do better throwing them as parallel to shore as possible, keeping them running along said rip rap. Weightless senkos and flukes, as suggested. I would also recommend tossing some spinnerbaits or shad raps.
  12. I have two of the Chronarch 50e's and my regular fishing buddy has a few Curado 50e's. they are built on the same frame and platform. I picked up a new Curado I on release day and I will say that it is getting close to the profile of a 50 class reel. If you have picked up a new Chronarch Ci4+, it's essentially the same frame design (ergonomically), just a touch heavier at 7.2 oz. It is amazingly smooth and I would pick another up before my Chronarchs, though I love them, too! I only have one Lews, a Tourney Mg 7.1, but I am thoroughly impressed with it. The BB1 pro is on my short list of reels that I wouldn't mind owning.
  13. I would look at both of those suggestions very hard. A SOT would be the only type of kayak I fished from, if given a choice. My girlfriend's first fishing kayak actually was the D10T and we loved it for her. However, on long hauls it tended to be a bit slower than most kayaks that we fished with. However, we regularly do 9+ mile trips in the marsh, exposed to heavy wind. We took it for some float trips in streams and rivers and it did remarkably well. The new FS12T is a very solid platform and will be more comfortable for a day's fishing with the elevated seat. I have circulation issues in one of my legs due to a previous injury so it's non negotiable for me. However, they are just more comfortable in general. An anchor trolley system will be a MUST, as well as a shallow anchor. However, you could build both of these for under 30 dollars, then you just need an anchor. If you have any kayak related questions, shoot me a PM. Harbor freight also sells a very affordable bed extender that is worth a look. With a few ratchet straps, you could comfortably transport just about any 10-12 foot kayak with no problems. http://m.harborfreight.com/truck-bed-extender-69650.html?utm_referrer=direct%2Fnot%20provided Make sure to check their site and print their monthly coupon. I used it on the bed extender and got it for a good bit less.
  14. As I was reading this post I thought to myself... This guy HAS to be in Florida, fishing in the rain in April. I can't say much, though. Most of last week was in the 80s for us!I also enjoy fishing in the rain. The bass are already wet, right?
  15. There is a policy in place, and I stated it correctly. However, if you catch the right person, their CS can be more than fair. They usually are.
  16. I have a 6'9 ML/XF Legend Tournament Bass baitcast rod and it fishes lures like that pretty well. My favorite use for it, however, is sight casting for redfish.
  17. The normal policy is 30 days. Used reels usually aren't taken back unless they are defective, especially past the 30 day mark. I guess you could always "say" it's defective, but then they "should" tell you to go through Quantum's warranty program. Your best bet is to go in and be honest and hope that their outstanding customer service makes an exception for you.
  18. Looks exactly the same!
  19. I have used these on my last two crates and have been very pleased with them. http://www.austinkayak.com/products/11363/Yak-Gear-Build-A-Crate-3-Rod-Holder.html?gclid=CIKss9LuzL0CFWxp7AodQVYA3Q They also make singles for like 8.99 that fit right next to them if you want to add more. They look spooky similar in build to the white ones you posted, though!
  20. Buzzed, shoot me a PM. I can give you some in depth info on each. I have a lot of seat time in both yaks, perks of the job.
  21. Welcome to swim bait fishing!
  22. I can also attest to the build quality of their hard baits. Excellent little lures. Try their prop baits and "gunfish" topwater. Great baits.
  23. Mega strike Mega Bug in Green Pumpkin / red. Thumped a nice little two and a half pounder with the head of a four pounder. Poor guy was starvin' like Marvin. And before anyone says anything, that is not the ONLY reason I caught that fish.
  24. Great frog. Awesome action and profile. I actually prefer the 55 size for general purpose use, but it does get bit. My two favorites are poison and bream.
