Hello all, I am a young angler who is really just getting into fishing tournaments. A friend of mine suggested I try some BFL tournaments as a co-angler. They are a lot of fun and a good way to be able to compete without having a nice boat. Anyways I fished one yesterday and it was a humbiling experience. My boater caught 15 fish through the day with me only catching one even though i was throwing a simliar bait. My biggest problem was not that I didn't have the right color bait, or that I was fishing behind someone. My problem was that after he had caught about 7 in the first hour I lost hope. I let it go to my head and it cost me. I had thoughts of wow I'm such a bad fisherman I can't even get one and he has caught 7! Like I said that was the first hr of the tournament. The rest of the day I had no confidence in myself, or what I was throwing. With every fish he caught got worse. I'm really suprised I got one. I learned how much of a mental game fishing is. I let myself down more than anything. I was focusing on all the fish he was catching instead of what I had to do to catch fish. It was defiantly a lesson learned. "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up."

Not sure about hrs he said he got it from anglers choice (well respected boat dealership near me) he is 2nd owner. He did crank it up sounded good. Says it has good compression but I don't have a tester. He is going to let me do a water test Saturday. Just wondering if you could give me an idea of its worth. He said since he has had it probably only 80 hrs.

Hey yall so I'm looking at a 2000 triton tr-17 with a 115 on it. Trolling motor is an older evinrude but still is in great condition. Has 2 Lowrance HDS fish finders with the gps. I don't think any down scan or anything. They are older models. Motor is a Johnson. Has a powerpole, onbourd charger, livewell ect. Carpet is clean. It has a few scratches here and there on the fiberglass. What do you guys think it's roughly worth?

Anyone know the water temperature at buggs island? Should be good fishing this weekend with the temperature warming. This will only be my second time on lake.

I usually use 3/16 or 1/4 I've always used a spinning rod. That how I was taught. I didn't even realize people used baitcasters until a while ago lol!

Thabks for advice are you talking about braid with floro leader? Anyone like the TFO rods a local guy can give me a deal on some?

What pound test do you use? Normally I use 12 pd Berkley vanish floro. I'm having a problem with getting good Hook sets with my 7' medium rod. Lost alot of fish because of it. That's why I was thinking of switching to MH.

I would like to buy a nice shakey head rod. I was looking at the 7 ft medium heavy Shimano crucial spinning rods. Has anyone had any experience with these. Would like to buy one around that price. 150 to 200$. Any other suggestions on rods? Also any suggestions on a reel?

Hey yall so I have a small bass tracker with a 25 HP motor. Got a new Lorance fish finder for the front. It has side scan I think but no GPS still trying to figure it out. But I want another fish finder right beside the console. If like to get one that has GPS. Any suggestions around 400 bucks? And also how would I mount it?
