Location, Location, Location
What? No more takers on the Location issue? C'mon guys. You don't have to give personal info or even a town that you live in. I hate it when I see a post that says "They're hitting on watermelon lizards...I caught an 8 pounder..." And Then you look into where the guy or girl is fishing or their location and you get nothing. Sooooo you go to Bass Pro, Dicks Wally World, where ever,... and you buy the watermelon lizards and try 'em out...Nothin', Nada, Nil, Zilch..... You make a post and "watermelon lizard guy" finally looks at his post two weeks later and says "Oh, I was in So and So Lake in So and So State and that's what they were hitting on then..... This ain't a stalking thing...It's a fishing thing!

Fire Extinguishers for Boats...
Also. mounting them horizontally may cause the charge to dissipate faster thus rendering your extiguisher unusable. This happened to me with my off road truck. Mounting them vertically is preferred. IMO

Location, Location, Location
I see your point Matt Fly but you do have your location listed in your profile. It's just much simpler to put it in your signature...or not. Having to go into Profiles is an extra unnecessary step. If someone's tracking me I hope that they are female, brunette, 5' 6", wealthy, any where from 25 - 35, have a boat, a good sense of humor and they like really beat up and bruised 45 year olds with a divorce lawsuit in the works from a firey 46 year old blonde, 5' 2" Lady that is as sweet as the day is long (when she isn't P.O.d and jealous).....On second thought, the fantasy just fizzled. I will stick with the stalker I have. She's been around for over 26 years. I don't think I want to train another one. ;D Tom

Look what I shot today !!!!
Nice photos LBH. Definitely something exotic...but what? White tail face, mule deer body, with moose antlers...and snow white!? Definitely different. That's for sure. If I were dear hunting I would not shoot it, with my rifle anyway. If you got 8 shots at it with your camera it must not be too wild. I actually saw an albino White Tail Deer as a kid. I was working at a farm helping to rebuild some pens in a barn and it just appeared on a hillside about 50 yards from me. When I moved it bolted, just as all deer do in PA during hunting season. Thanks for posting the photos. Tom

Bitter Sweet
I feel for ya. I lost a Stradic on a BPS Extreme rod the summer before last in Lake Norman. I tried like crazy to get it back. I even bought a mask, fins and snorkle and went diving for it. This was in 8'-12' of water. I never found it. I'd like to think some kid hooked it soon after I lost it and has a great rod and reel and a great story to tell about it. Losing gear is a bummer but it does come with the territory.

ramp question for a newbie
One more thing, don't count on the ramp docks to have adequate protection for your baby's finish (your boat's finish) should your boat rub up against it. Get some fenders for it. I see so many people that launch their bass boats without fenders and the rub rails provided at the ramps are just a tad above the gunwhales of most bass boats.

Please help
Are you asking about lubricant?

ramp question for a newbie
Senile 1 has made a point that is a very good one. Make sure that your boat engine is running before fully committing to launching your boat. I have seen far too many people have engine problems and then having to figure out how to get their boat lined up and back onto the trailer pulling it with a rope or winch.

Terry Bass Boat Questions
Thanks Cart7. I think I'll be leaving that "deal" for someone else. I have a bigger boat for fun on the water. I was just looking for a fishing boat that's bigger than my little 12 footer for pure fishing fun. The 12 footer is just not big enough for my needs, especially when the wind and boat traffic are up on my lake. I think I'll just keep looking. Tom

Redline Robert is a shill
Don't forget the Depth Charges! KA-BOOM!!! Wow, look at all the fish! ;D Avid, What's a "Shill"? I'm not familiar with that term.

John Lennon
Ya know, John Lennon did have to wear glasses. Drugs, alcohol and bad eyesight are contributors to many strange incidents. I remember when I was 17 I met this girl...uh, er, nevermind. Avid, I am glad you feel the way you do and I agree. The Muddy Man and I started a discourse and decided to end it. Sometimes the written word does not come off as it is meant. That is why I deleted my posts. Tom

Location, Location, Location
Howdy, Why not put your location in your signature lines? Avid made a comment in another post about this and I agree with him. One wouldn't really have to narrow it down to a city or lake but just knowing the area that you are in would help in regards to what lures are working, water temperatures, weather, etc.... Heck, even putting your state or region in your signature line would be a plus. I used to have my location just below my Avatar but still got PMs asking where I was located. If everyone had something in their signature about where they are or where they fish it would help tremendously in regards to the knowledge of the location that one is fishing. Just my 2 cents... Tom

Thanks Way2Slow. I found 2 of these for sale on line and they wanted between $300 and $500 for them. One looked really beat up. The other just looked old but well taken care of.

Portable GPS for the JWC
I have a Magellan Meridian Gold and I like it very much. I load Mapsend software into it and it works great for me. I also upgraded the memory to load more maps. Some people like Magellan some like Garmin. It's a personal preference. One piece of advice. Make sure that you can upgrade the memory. This is very important regardless of what unit you buy. Also, make sure that the memory chip is still available for sale and that it will continue to be made. My Magellan is 4 years old. The memory upgrade was 64K maximum. That particular 64K memory chip is no longer made. Luckily I have extras but it's something to keep in mind. I would also recommend a color screen versus black and white if you can afford it. It does make a difference. Mine is black and white and it's sometimes hard to read in the bright sunshine. Good luck and I hope you get what you need. Tom

Terry Bass Boat Questions
I found a 17' 1976 Terry bass boat in the Boat Trader for $900. It has a 115hp Johnson motor that needs to be rebuilt. It also has a new trolling motor, depth finder and carpet. Does anyone know anything about these boats? Would it be worth checking out? It's 30 years old. Would the fiberglass still be servicable? I have been thinking about upgrading from my 12' utility boat to a larger boat and using my 9.9hp Merc for perhaps a 14' or 16' V-bottom utility boat but maybe this Terry boat might be an option. What would it cost to rebuild a Johnson outboard? Thank you, Tom

John Lennon
You are right Muddy Man. There is no sense in arguing. I modified my posts. I don't come to this forum to argue or stir up trouble. I like to come here to enjoy myself and talk about fishing and related items. Everyone please accept my apologies for disrupting this thread. Tom
