PROPERLY TRIMMING THE MOTOR
Good responses. I would like to add that you will have to experiment a bit to find the right trim at the desired speeds. The trim coming out of the hole will need to be modified once on plane but depending upon your speed or desired ride the trim will be different from WOT and medium speed. The key is to feel the boat and the steering and listen to the engine and watch your speedo or GPS. When you have the right trim you can feel a difference in the boat and your speed will increase while the motor RPMs have not changed. After a while you will be able to tell that you have optimum trim just by how the boats feels and sounds. One thing I have found with my boats is that the Nitro 750 is a whole lot more trim sensitive than is my Regal deck boat. A lot of that has to do with the weight of the boat and the hull design. Neither of these boats react like the other boats that I have operated in the past. Spend lots of time in your boat and experiment with it to figure out it's optimum capabilities. Be careful not to cavitate the propeller or drive. This can be costly. Too much trim up can cause this at higher RPMs. Have fun with your boat.

2nd Fish Finder Question
My Nitro 750 has a console mounted fish finder with the transducer mounted in the stern. I would like to mount a 2nd fish finder on my trolling motor and mount screen on the bow somewhere where I can see it when I am trolling. I have some questions about this: 1) Should I use the battery power from the trolling motor batteries or from the motor battery? 2) Will the electrical emissions from the trolling motor affect the tranduscer if I mount the transducer on the motor? 3) Will I have to turn the fish finder off when pulling the trolling motor back up into the boat? In other words will the finder or transducer be harmed if the unit is not turned off before pulling the motor out of the water? 4) Do you have a better recommendation for a place to put the bow mounted transducer other than on the trolling motor? Thank you, Tom

3 bulging disk's........
Pard, I feel bad for ya. I have had back problems all of my adult life. They come and go but I have never had to worry about surgery. In my case, thank God for the good Chiropractors that I have found to help me when I had problems. I'll keep you in my thoughts and I wish you well. Tom

Opinions on the movie BORAT!
I haven't seen it nor do I plan to. I've seen enough of punks and idiots in my life, I don't need to see them or experience them when I seek entertainment.

Lubing steering cables
Howdy, I have a Nitro 750 bass boat. The steering is very tight. How do you lube the steering cables? When I say the steering is tight I mean that moving the boat is an extreme workout. I bought the boat used and it steers like a tractor. I got the boat with no manuals. How do you lube the steering?

Adjustments for more speed
Adjusting your trim may help. If you don't have trim adjustment from the helm you could try adjusting it at the motor's mount. You could also look at your propeller selection. I would caution you that a propeller that gives you more speed may cut your power out of the hole shot or make your getting "on plane" time a bit longer.

Troiling Motor Problems
You may want to replace those brushes if they are old. Brushes are the life-blood of DC motors.

Trailer Light Problem
L-Train, You are going to have to verify the the wiring and the connector on your vehicle are correctly wired if this is the first time using it. If they worked normally before this problem occurred I would check the connector mounted on your truck and verify that the contacts are clean and free from corrosion. Get some electrical contact cleaner and spray the connector's contacts and brush them with a stiff nylon brush. Don't use a metal brush, you don't want to short anything out. Also, get some di-electric grease and use it on the contacts to protect them from corrosion. If this doesn't work I would follow the routing of the wiring on your truck's connector to the other connectors that it connects into and check them. I would use the same process with them as well. If the connector is "hard-wired", spliced into the truck wiring, I would check and make sure that the connections are good by removing the electrical tape or covering and verifying that the wiring is not corroded, green or white residue on the exposed wires will cause problems, undo the wiring connections and then clean them with the contact cleaner, grease them with the di-electric grease and use the method that "justfishin" stated to reconnect them. If you aren't familiar with soldering I recommend taking your vehicle to an establishment that can "hook you up" ...no pun intended. Perhaps an RV or boat sales store. There are trailer electrical hookups that connect directly into your truck's existing connectors on later model vehicles if you find that your wiring is hard wired versus through the connectors harness. Another thing to look at is whether your trailer hitch has a positive ground to the frame of your vehicle. Quite often paint on the vehicle frame and paint on the hitch frame inhibits a good ground. Mounting a heavy ground wire from the hitch assembly to the frame may help make a more positive contact. But I would be more concerned about the wiring of the connector than I would the hitch, especially if you have a removable hitch tongue. They aren't made to ground well.

Gasing up new boat!!??
Fuel it slower than you would with a car and listen. When you here the gurgle shut the nozzle off. This happens with my Regal and my Nitro. The fuel tank inlets and the configuration just isn't like the ones on cars and trucks. You just can't stuff the nozzle in and walk away.

Kissing your fish
I would never kiss a fish. I figure my handling of them is enough interaction for 'em. I do talk to them though.

You guys ever try this ???
Yes, I have noticed this too. Same goes for trout and bream. They look at you. Wouldn't you keep and eye on your captor?
