  1. I do that all the time. I run 40# braid and 20# Fluoro leader with no issues. The extra spool idear might be a good thing.
  2. Thanks. I use braid for almost everything now so I've gotten used to tasking it slow with braid. I fish some heavy covered lakes and am able to get my jerkbaits back when snagged. I just didn't know what working it with a fast action would be like.
  3. Thanks. I won an action for one in Crack Blue new for 11 dollars and the seller has offered the crack black for 10 bucks more. Also new.
  4. I've got an extra rod lying around and was wondering what everyone's opinion on using it for a jerkbait rod, unil I can afford my Dobyns. Is a Clarus 6'8" MXF. Tip has a good amount of bounce. I'll be using 30# braid. I've never fished a jerkbait on an XF action before n
  5. I fish spinnerbaits with 4.7:1. To much faster and it wears me out. Depending on the size of the spinnerbait, I'd go with the 100. Your only talking a difference of 28 IPT on the 51 over 26 IPT on the 101
  6. Anyone ever use this color with success in stained water?
  7. In my experience, yes and no. Someone else's maybe not. My 745 DX is the most sensitive rod I've ever had. Compared to my 160 dollar Crucial, it's only a tad more. Just a tad though. Now compared to my GL2 200 dollar rod, it's night and day difference. Higher price doesn't just mean more sensitive. Things like better paint, guides, grips, better balanced and better warranties all factor in on cost. Generally the more expensive the rod, the better the warranty. My 745 balances perfect where as my St. Croix MoJo has good sensitivity but balances like a druken elephant. Now it's actually 1/2 oz lighter too.
  8. Why did you post the same picture 6 times? Ask yourself this question. How pressured is the spot you were fishing? Spinnerbaits get thrown by almost everyone. Did you try something different? Some days the bite is on with them and other days its not.
  9. And you know this how? It's a serious question BTW. Does it happen as much as taking a trophy buck illegally, probably not. Doesn't mean it won't happen or is "far fetched" it's the law and you can be punished more severely in different areas. My area now they will most likely cut you a fine and tell you to pound sand. Back home, it's a different story. You may be going home naked and broke. Some people take their hobby more serious than others. People who violate the law screw up the hobby even more for those of us who love it. Some take it more personal than others. You need to sit down and read the definition of threaten. Sounded to me like a blanket statement for anyone breaking the law, not directed at you.
  10. Not that I've read about. Last order I placed he was swamped everyday filling orders. Give him a shout in the AM.
  11. It was an open ended answer to and open ended question. Georgia, last time I remembered was a big ass place with a bunch of not 1000's of bodies of water. What works in one lake a specific time of year will likely not work 50 miles away. If you narrowed the body of water down, water clarity, structure and cover and how pressured the water is and how big it is, you could get more help.
  12. If I know the water and know how I'm going to attack the area yes, if not, I just leave what I had on tied from the previous trip and switch if need be on a new lake.
  13. For the price that you would spend on Vanish, I would suggest Seaguar Red Label. Same price and much better stuff. I tested Vanish as a leader and had good results. No issues, but I would never use it as a main line. Nothing here gets more negative reviews that Vanish. .
  14. That until I seen her in the Marilyn Monroe get up. That my friend is worth paying child support for!Unfortunately I'm thinking about work. What I can do next in training, what else can I prepare my rook for etc......:the trees blowing, ooooo look shiney object I like peanut butter lol
  15. 4 power would make a good swim jig rod or a flipping rod provided your not in heavy cover.
  16. Have you tried the Modifed Albright knot yet?
  17. I have the knot 3-4" from my reel with the jig 10" from my rod tip.
  18. I thought the point was the claws put off less movement that the original rage Craws.
  19. I actually took it to BP and traded it down for a 100MG. I preferred the looks of the 100 over the 50. I liked the way the spool was locked in along with the smooth side plate. I am going to throw the 100 on my jerkbait set up and get a 100MG7 to put on the 745. The 50 balanced weird on my 745. Hard to explain but the 200E7 and 100MG felt much better over all when pitching. Balanced better over all. I switched my jig rod back over to 40# PP Slick. The 20# Tatsu had so much memory yesterday, that my pitching distance was dang near cut in half.
  20. Your fired lol
  21. Do the claws float? That was my only and I repeat only complaint on the Rage Craws. I know they will float for a few, but wondering if the new ones do?
  22. Brian, I'm kinda torn now. I want to put the 50 (which will be here tomorrow) on my 745 but then again I want to put it on my Jerkbait rod when I get it BTW, sent ya a PM
