  1. I learned last year not to jump on the "new or improved" when they first hit the market. I ditched 6 perfect reels that were gems and 4 rods for the new Abu products and got burned. I want a new Chronarch Ci4, but I'm going to wait a year to see if its a flop first. When I dumped my Abu's, I had to practically give them away. I don't want to be stuck with a 275 dollar paper weight. I'm not saying anything negative about Duckett, just a general statement. The *** has been proven as a dependable rod that works.
  2. You can't go wrong with an Avid. I have a cranking model and am in love with it. The Avids I held in the casting models felt great until you got up into the heavy models. They felt pretty stiff. Still great rods though. I highly recommend the Dobyns Champion line. I have a Champion Extreme too, but verdict is still out on if its worth the extra money. Make sure to look online during the holiday sales. Some places have 20-25% off for them.
  3. I bought an 8ft Pelican, motor and battery for 450 bucks a few months ago. They can be had cheaper too. It's not an 80k Ranger, but it gets me on the water.

I have OCD. So bad the I call it CDO since the letters have to be in order. Beer cans have to all be label forward pop water etc too I have to write with a certain style and brand of pen. My day will go to hell without it All my ammo has to be "Speer" label up in my mags Shirts have to be hung hanger to the left Hangers have to be black Shotgun barrels have to be odd length. Evens get a 1" choke tube I hate even numbers The list goes on and on.
  5. I have no love for either, but watching Manziel get his ass smashed..........roll down tide!
  6. I got two at the same time. It stung a bit, but It was worth it. If my two Shimano rods sell, Brian above is gonna be less one of his
  7. Let me guess, just going out on a limb here but........your a Lews guy right? That's one hellova colection of Croix's!
  8. I love your logic!!!
  9. This is my trick for running tubes on the back of a swim jig too!
  10. No one ever said it was.
  11. Thanks a million man!!
  12. Now I'm kinda confused on the all the models now lol What do you recommend for a suspending bait under 5" that dives to around 6 feet
  13. Gotcha. I have several of the Rogues but I have only been fishing them since around December of last year so I didn't know their longevity.
  14. I love it actually. I know this sounds weird, but I enjoy fishing it more than I do my 745 now. Maybe its because its lighter and a lighter action, but it feels better in my hand. I've been fishing tubes and 1/4oz rigs with ease. As for a 3.8oz jig, I'm not 100% sure. Its rated up to 3/4oz. I'll have to tie one on this weekend and see. I've never gone higher than a 1/4oz weighted hook at a medium size plastic.
  15. I'm starting to really get into jerkbaits. Even in the summer, I've been having decent luck. Give me something to do when the jig bite dies. Anyway, I have a few jerkbaits so far built up. A few Rogues, XCalibers, Rapala's and Strike King. I'd like to try more and expand on my color and size collection. I really like the Rapala Cracklin rap, but the color selection kinda blows. I been eyeballing the Lucky Crafts and Megabass brands due to the colors. In the gods honest truth, what does the 15 dollar plus baits have over the 6-7 dollar baits? Other than hardware, what makes one better than the other?
  16. All valid points. I love my 733 just as much as my 745. It all boils down to what your comfortable with spending. No complaints on the Ducketts. They are good rods.
  17. That's cool. I just seen where you were looking for something for traps and cranking. If you wanted a dedicated frog rod only, myself, I would go with a saavy. It's not a technique that's going to required that much sensitivity.
  18. Do they not have any Champion cranking rods in stock.
  19. I wish I would have listened to this piece of advice 2 years ago. I'd haved had so much extra money.
  20. I like that. Should make for a quicker hook set with less effort. Shipping invoice says delivery by Monday end if day. Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (provided no call ins) I'm back on the water!
  21. That's what the make antifreeze flavored cat nip for
  22. Let me marry her first, the. We will talk lol
  23. Why will your primary's rods get messed up?
  24. If I set the hook that hard in my little boat, the boat moves 3 feet forward lol
