  1. In 1998 under (my coach can eat your coach) yes lol
  2. I've been using the Spit N Shad's for about 6 months now and really like them. I've been watching the videos on the new KVD Splash and other than the price increase and the overall height is a tad taller, what is the difference?
  3. Agreed, top water gets me giddy like a school kid, but that thump on a jig is my legal crack!
  4. Insanity North Star 1/2oz jig with a Hard Candy Rage craw.
  5. How often are you changing baits or going through plastics that you need to put it on a whole bag of plastics at once? It takes like 20-30 seconds to break the tube out and slime up a bait. Plus the gel will get on your hands/fingers masking your odor. Kind of a win win.
  6. After trying 3 different rods and searching for almost a year, I have settled on the Dobyns Champion Extreme 745. If you want a bit cheaper route the Dobyns Champion 736 would be my next pick.
  7. I don't fish cranks to often, but I fish the same water types you speak of. I mainly use the Strike King 1.5's and 4S cranks. I also like the Rapala DT4's for these too.
  8. I 97.89999 percent agree with this
  9. What's your budget? If I had to choose either, I would save my money and get something better. I had nothing but trouble with my silver max. Can't comment on the Caius, but its sold at Walmart and they never sell.
  10. Chris may have deactivated it for the sale try had. Give him a shout and see if he can activate it.
  11. Vertical and Horizontally. I'm on my phone or I would search, but Big O has posted some pictures of it.
  12. North Star Custom Baits Flip n Swim Salsa with a Watermelon red Berkley Havoc Subwoofer.
  13. BR10 if I remember right.
  14. If you go the North Star route, grab some Black Series Footballs in Brown Craw, Insanity and Black N Blue. Basically browns, greens and black/blues I only use 1/2oz for all situations. If I need to go the finesse route, I usually go with plastics instead of jigs.
  15. I have been solely using North Star Custom Baits jigs for a little over a year now. Customer service is top notch and its the best quality jig I've found and used. I prefer a larger profile jig so I use mainly the Black Series Flipping jigs. I have 4 that I use 99% of the time. The Brown Craw is my favorite followed by the Insanity, Black n Blue and Frogger. My last order I had some custom green and blues made up for grins. I'm excited to see them, When I want a swim jig, I use their Flip N Swim series. My favorite color is the Mistake followed by Salsa, New Gill and I've been testing some Crappie colored jigs for awhile too. For weights, I only use 1.2 oz year round.
  16. If I don't have one on the back of a Jig, I have it rigged on a 4.0 1/4oz Stroker hook Raged Rigged. The only two ways I fish them. Prespawn I killed it on a Green Pumpkin Purple Gold!
  17. Thanks for the review. I see where people talk about it being limp and no coils after a couple of months. Is it really have no coils like braid?
  18. I use the shaw Grigbsy knot for all lines. I have yet to break it. My 40 pound PP slick breaks before the knot.
  19. As far as the tips of both rods, I have either used or messed with both in almost all the powers. They were extremely close if not spot on. There are some major to minor differences in them, but for overall casting of light baits, they are almost exact.
  20. I have basically the same rod but in the Crucial line. I throw 3" tubes with a 1/4 oz internal tube weight all the time with no issues. It will launch them
  21. Ya, I'd say you have a sure thing there!
  22. When I run a craw only, I use a 4/0 Moaner Stroker hook. It lets the craw fall horizontally rather than vertically like with a Texas rig. For me, I have much better luck with horizontal fall than vertical.
  23. I'd find a *** *** Black or a Shimano Clarus in 7' or longer in MHXF. I think with these two, your going to get the best sensitivity in the 100 dollar range. If you save 100 dollars more you can open your options waaaaay up. Bottom contact bait, you wait as sensitive as you can get. Just a suggestion though.
  24. I'd stick with 6 or higher. Not all 6 gear reels are created equal. Make sure to look at the inches per turn or IPT. Some 6 gears will put out 26 IPT and some put out closer to 29 IPT. I'd stick with a reel that puts out no less than 26-27. You could even use a burner reel as the bait will not have that much resistance coming through the water.
  25. Plano makes the FTO hook/weight box. It's made specifically to keep everyone together. Runs like 12-15 dollars and has 4 latches to secure it. Well worth the money.
