  1. But Glenn is right too. I use the sales to get extra jigs to stock way up. Plus Chris will ship for free for orders over 50 dollars.
  2. I can't remember but last year I thought it was around September. Give Chris a shout and see if he can tell ya. He's usually really good about letting us know n
  3. If she were really good, she could do all that, rig a trot line and crack a beer! lol Seriously, man.....wow. I'd end up sneezing or having a hiccup with my luck.
  4. I love the Strike King Rage Craw in Falcon Lake Craw color. Here is a picture of some of my NS jigs. The far left is a Brown Craw in the Black Series. If you have the Knock out in the Brown Craw its basically the same. The craw has the perfect amount of orange/brown that set its off very well. So far for 2013, this has been my #1 producer for bass in clear and lightly stained water.
  5. I like a bomber Square A in chartruse brown for clear to lightly stained water. Something like a fire tiger color for dirty. Medium Moderate rod with 20 pound braid. 4 feet is the average depth for this bait. I like to bang it off anything I can find or have it bounce off the bottom.
  6. He reminds me of a funnier "Dan" from the sitcom Rosanne.
  7. I thought that the very first Gen 3 models were just released to too quick and had some bugs. Word was Abu made some minor adjustments and it was fixed. Reports started falling off about issues with them. Now it seems like its coming back. I hated that all my Gen 3 Revos went sour. I do love my Shimanos, but kinda miss the way the revos felt when I first got them.
  8. I can actually see that lol. It was a good movie!
  9. Remember. A 1/2 oz jig is the weighted head. Then you have a hook, skirt and then a trailer. It puts you well over 3/4 oz. I also use my MHXF Crucial for 1/4 tubes off the bottom. It throws them 40 plus yards, I can feel every bite as if I were finesse fishing. I still think your better off going with an XF
  10. No. Mine is a MXF. It has a good amount of flex in the tip for a medium. Thats why i got it for topwater. Now I do have a MHXF Crucial. Its got a good stiff tip. I can toss 1/4oz weighted plastics and 3/4 oz swim jigs with trailers with ease. Its rated to 1oz just like the Clarus. All the rod powers are close if not exact between the two. My Crucial is a 7'2" though.
  11. By tomorrow night you should have plenty of responses on the Clarus rod. They are well liked by many members here. They are a step down from the Compre line, but I felt they were a better rod for the price. Its not a crucial, but its black lol I just feel with an XF tip, your max weight of the bait goes up and its helps in ripping a bass out of the nasty. With a rod with decent sensitivity, you will feel the bite a long time before you notice the rod tip bend with you get a bite
  12. Older as in the first models of the Gen 3's to come out? The Gen 3's are the lastest models to arrive. Came out September of last year. Or are you talking about Gen 2 models?
  13. I dont know what more I could have posted in the other thread. The XF action is what I would suggest for your needs. Keep in mind bud, its 1130 on a sunday night. Most guys are in bed or spending the remaining day with family, NOT haning out on a forum. It's fathers day
  14. I'd go with the XF tip. Your max weight jumps to 1oz. I have a clarus and love it. Its a 6'8" MXF and I use it for top water. Its well balanced, light and has a life time warranty. Plus is black and no some funky color too. They run 80 or so new so base that on, you can see what kind of deal your getting. I am not 100% sure, but the lifetime over the counter warranty is for the original purchaser. Just an FYI 14-15 pound test should be good for you
  15. That was a hellova grab! i was crossing my fingers on that giveaway. Congrats!
  16. They have several different weights for the hooks. The rage rig I believe is a 4/0 1/4oz weighted hook.
  17. I have started only using North Star Jigs anymore. They are priced on the mid to higher level of most jigs, but I wait for a sale and buy a bunch. They do sales appox 2-3 times a year. I switched them last year as anytime I had a question, I was able to call the owner and he would give me his input. Chris and Nick are great guys. Another thing I like, is there pro staff guys are also good people. They are always quick to jump on questions and help too. Plus, the colors and quality of his jigs are amazing. All are hand tied and I swear Chis has OCD worse than me lol I've never had a bad jig or a flaw. Their QC is top notch.
  18. Now yall are just making me dream bigger. That CH50MG looks sweet!
  19. I'm a braid only person. I actually started using braid because of top water. i use a soft action rod for my top water stuff and the braid helps me. You have to wait a split sec longer before you set the hook, but with a soft tip it works great. Some have said that straight braid tends to get tangled up in treble hooks, but I have not had this problem yet, if you do a simple mono leader will fix it.
  20. That is purdy! Thanks. The 4 I found on ebay were made of gold by what they were charging lol
  21. The model right before the E series were released? Pictures would be cool. Doing some wishing shopping and I'm clueless as to the history of the Chronarchs Thanks!
  22. Go for it. Even before I read about it here, I watched the you tube video of VanDam applying it and he just went to town spraying it even getting over spray on the reel, handle etc. I'd say its ok if he's doing it. I apply it the same way and have t seen any problems yet. The stuffs pretty harmless. I won't go into details, but I have inadvertently sprayed it in my eyes and it didn't burn lol
  23. I've never experienced this and my eyes are super sensitive to the light. Are you getting water splashed in them as mist and making them irritated? If you wear them doing yard work, do you experience the same thing?
  24. You have your opinion and I have mine
