  1. I will give that a shot next days off. I wondered about that large of a worm, but the fall is upon so it may work.
  2. Will do. I have to be careful of the fallen timber unless I am using weedless rigs. It is do dense that little gremlins steal your lures. I have lost a total of 14 jigs and to many cranks, hooks etc to count.
  3. I like then as trailers on smaller jigs but they are heavy enough, I throw a 3/16 oz weight T-rigged and it works great.
  4. Academy Sports is a major dealer of them. They out number Abu 5-1
  5. Im kinda stumped here. What has worked for me for years and most every lake I have ever fished, does not apply here for some reason. Once you think you got something down, a lake like this pops up. This lake is a bit over 1000 acres of pure structure heaven http://www.outdoorsok.com/Oklahoma/BellCow It literly looks like they cut the tops of every tree in a forest off, then flooded the valley. It screams big bass. I know it holds some giant fish. At my local Academy, they have a bragging board of the different lakes. This lake has produced some big fish. I talked with a guy today that pulled out a 9.7 pound LM. When he showed me the pictures on his phone, taken today with scale and tape, I was dumb founded. He has 3 double digit bass from this lake this year. PIctures to prove it. He released every one. Generally from talking to most of the people that fish here, they release about every bass caught due to the numbers being so large and the size of the bass caught. In Central Oklahoma, we don't get much for big bass, but this lake has its fair share. The main reason most release. Top water has worked at most every place I have ever fished. At this lake I couldn't get a hit off a top water if I mouthed off to an MMA fighter and slapped his girl on the butt. Flukes, popr's jerkbaits, worms, lizzards you name it. Early AM, low cloud, sunny and evening no luck. The west half of the lake is like mud. Very dirty with about 2 foot of visibility. Now the east half is crystal clear???? Most of the guys catching big bass have boats and are right upon the structure but several reports of guys from shore, swimming a jig or worm and getting lucky. Everyone so far has been having good luck on green colored jigs and plastics. I've tried about everything I can think of. Any help would be great.
  6. Hope the above has helped some. You found the right place for answers here.
  7. I did that at Lake Hefner yesterday. I think a bunch of people beat me to it, but I did get about 50 golf balls. I got skuned with a big freaking 0 today. Hit the water at 6am and just got home about 3pm. Guys in boats did great though
  8. My 3rd gen S with 7' medium micro rod, braid and reel grips weighs 12 ounces
  9. You didn't mess around!!!! Great set up you won't be disappointed
  10. I will have to try the dam. I've been out there twice but wasn't impressed. But I need to check it out more. 6 bucks each time gets pricey. To get to Bell Cow just take the the turnpike to the Chandler exit and turn left. Go about a 1/8 mile and turn left again after the car dealership. It's about 5-6 miles and you will see the signs. This lake is a structure heaven. Trees every where. Looks like the cut the tops off of trees in a forest and flooded it. 3 buck entry fee and every point of the lake is accessible by foot. Hardly any rocks. I'm headed out tomorrow.
  11. Welcome! Not many of us from Edmond. This is a really cool place. You will love it. Unfortunately Bass fishing is so so around here, but I have found a couple of decent places. I'm headed out at first light tomorrow to get a start on this fall bite!
  12. Welcome from Edmond! Haven't been out to Arcadia to check, too expensive. I have been going to Bell Cow out by chandler and the water level is good. Crazy thing is with Hefner just 2 weeks ago the dock still had water around it. That's what made me wonder. It sucks as Hefner is a quick place to pitch jigs around the dock after work to kill time.
  13. For bait casting, the Reel. You can buy a decent rod for under 50 dollars. Buying a cheap reel will give you nothing but trouble. Turn you away from bait casting.
  14. Mmmmmmm Crappie!
  15. Two words. Jerry Jones and a billon dollar stadium.
  16. Ha ha. I have thought about selling my 7'11" H so I can get a 7'3" MH. The 711 is great for pitching and ripping bass out of cover, but it blows for trying to use it from shore.
  17. I am now dumber after reading this post. I have lost 10 seconds of my life. If a person seriously would never buy a companies product because of one guy pushing it is absurd. The OP did say he would consider one next season. I do believe LMG said to save all the money he would use to upgrade the PQ's and buy one. How is that pushing the product? Me personally and this is to the OP, I would suggest saving all your money on upgrading them. I am a die hard Abu man. I do own one PQ in 4.7:1 and I seriously don't think upgrading it would matter much. I would buy another PQ, rod, another brand of reel or more tackle.
  18. We have got some serious rain in the last few weeks. Well over 6". Low temps but the water level is next to nothing. All the fishing docks are sitting on the mud with 200 plus yards of shore in front of them. The d**n is bone dry probably 15 plus feet low too. Are they draining the lake? My fishing trip turned into a lure and golf ball treasure hunt.
  19. I like this really nice house I live in. Don't want to trade it for the motel or my pickup. I baked some polish on my duty boots last year in her 1300 oven. Next time I was told that I better like sleeping in my truck
  20. Agreed. I just bought a shat pot of Havoc's since there were on sale. Then I found the SK river bugs for like 45 cents more than the Havoc's. While they are not packaged like the Rage products, they are still full of salty slimy stinky goodness!!!
  21. Where ever you bought them should have taken them back. My guess is they were opened by a customer and closed wrong. Just a guess.
  22. Improved Clinch knot. I love that knot. Easy to tie, doesn't use up a bunch of line and I can tie it in the dark.
  23. Agreed. Plus if you get the Revo S, you will have the exact top water rig that I have I run 30# Braid on my set up. If I need to be like a Ninja, I will tie on a fluoro leader. THe YoZuri is very recommended on this board. I have not tried it myself as I have a large stock of line built up, but I would not hesitate to use it at all.
