I haven't read much or played with the new Revo STX or SX's so I can't comment but the new Revo S is amazing. I have 2 Gen 2 STX's and my New S is just as fun to use. My Revo was a tad noisy compared to others during the cast, but it's a beast for distance. I am going to fish mine hard for until this winter so see how she holds up. Make sure to do a review on them at the online places. Alot of people are waiting on reviews before they commit.

I have a 7' M/F spinning combo. I run 15# braid with a 12# fluoro leader. This is my do it all spinning reel. The braid is a godsend over mono for me.

For 100 dollars the Pro Qualifier is the mac daddy. For 20-30 dollars more you can get some very nice reels as well. Abu Revo S, you can get some new or used Gen 2 STX and SX's for 120 ish too

This x2 The Veritas can he had for 80 shipped in some places. Chronarch has high reviews. Also look at the Revo line of reels and the Pro Qualifier from Bass Pro. I have one and love is just as much as my Revos What ever you do or go with, I suggest getting something of quality.

Do you like to flip or pitch jigs? The SX, IMO would make a better pitching reel than a straight up casting reel. I use my STX as its an extra I have or I would have purchased and SX for my pitching rod. Btw I can stress this enough you are gonna love that new S brother. If you don't I promise to let you kick me in the junk!

Got my NS jig order today! Got stocked back up on my flip and swims and got stocked up on the new Black Series jigs. These are sweet! Got some Alimony, Insanity, Bruse and Camo. Someone just got smacked with a 10" worm!

After I figured it out, it was. The owners manual is the old one. I have two of the pitch brakes clicked on and the remaining pitch and spring loaded breaks all off. I have my spool control knob set to fall about 12" a second. I have to thumb the spool just a tad and I get no issues. I think its going to help on backlashes on the whipping. I would suggest trying not to whip it so much as let the rod load and give her hell. I think we should talk Gene into buying on and doing a video. I don't have a video camera with tripod and I don't want to look like some of those fools on you tube using their phones.

Thats a hellova bday present! I had alot of fun today with mine. I ended up turning all but 2 breaks off and the spool control knob tightend just enough to stop the side to side play of the spool. Kinda sad, but I have been having more fun with it than my two STX's lol

Amen to that. I finally got sick of my Silver Max and issues with it. Traded it in back to Bass Pro. It was over 30 days so I got a merchandise card. Got me some fluoro and 40 dollars worth of tubes.

Mine took 2 days to process. They have to debit two additional payments just as authorized before they ship it.

I think what still scares me the most, even after all this time, is the helplessness afterwards. Our department sent supplies, money, blood etc to help, but being in the middle of central Kansas at the time we couldnt do much.

I'm taking a break as the fishing is slow, but this new Revo I'd the shat! Hope yours gets here quick. As for the grips, they are reel grips. I get them at Bass Pro and Academy Sports. They are mega comfortable and set the whole set up off. I have them on every reel even my spinning.
