That anaconda is heavy has as hel man. As long as the spool is not under so much tension its making noises your good. Try tying on just a small crank. It will act much different

What kind of line are you using? Fluoro mono? I have noticed that with my STX's and my new S, they have to be winched down pretty good to keep it from falling to fast. With braid, its not as bad. Even though they are winched down good, there is still plenty of thread left on the cap.

Rembrants are pretty, picassio's are pretty..............But you won't see me fishing with them Ok back to your original scheduled program

I read alot of the pre-reviews on the S before it was released. Mike I. Talked it up pretty heavy. There is a dealer named Simmons sporting goods on eBay that sells the Veritas for 79.99 shipped. They ship fast and they come in a huge PVC pipe. I have bought all but one from them and they are premo. I usually just buy direct from the store now though. He told me all of his rods forsake are in the back. He has display models that take the abuse.

How light do you want to go? A true pitching stick is built like a tank. Most are going to be heavier than a standard rod.

I haven't had the best luck with fluoro. So far BPS brand and invizx have been decent. I am waiting on a spool of the Yo-zuri hybrid to try. Everything about it looks amazing.

I have jigs I occasionally use that were purchased in 2000. If you get quality skirts, they hold up for a long time. Keep them out of the sun when not in use and make sure they are wire tied. With my quality jigs, I loose them before they go bad. I usually re paint them during the winter due to the paint getting buggered but that's about it.

Don't forget it washes the truck! Seriously the new models have a bent star and bent handle that is more ergonomic and looks cool. Brand new style of gears which are stronger. Wider spool, more low profile, lighter and on the bottom of the reel it has a lube port like the Pro Qualifiers from Bass Pro.

How is the smoothness of this braid compared to 832 or PP slick?

Im going nutso here. Tracking says my new Revo S will be here today in the mail. Mail is anywhere from 2:30-4:00. I'm going nuts. Edited to add. It has finally arrived. This sucker is super light. With 30# braid and reel grips, she comes in at 7.8 ounces!! My lord this is dead sexy. I have the 7' Medium Abu garcia Veritas Micro Guide rod paired with it. This is my dedicated top water rod. I like to throw Popr's and with the smaller model it lauched them big time. I have about 80 yards of braid spooled, backed with mono. I didn't measure it, but I launched this small popr about 65 yards. My neighbors think I am retarded. With the rod coming in at 4.2 ounces, this entire combo is 12 ounces of pure black and white magic! Ok enough with the cheesy advertising. This is super smooth. I have two brand new STX's and this new S is right up there with them. Here are some pictures.

I went with the 7'11" heavy. It had more backbone that the 7'6". Even the 7'3" had more backbone
