  1. I'm not your dad, but someone with more than one arrest or incident of theft can't be trusted in my opinion. Once is a fluke, oops I was being a stupid sumbitc* but twice shows intent and a pattern. Cut your losses now and don't risk anything else. If you confront him and things go south, your post here and the fact that have not alerted the authorities of this shows premeditation on your part if things really go south. Not worth sitting in jail for beating him down or as Dale.m put it, slapping him with a 10" worm.
  2. I had to move up to a Heavy for my 1/2oz jigs. The MH was just about right but I wanted something more stout to through 1oz if I needed to.
  3. I'm selling off my Max series reels to make way for the new S and pair it with a Veritas 7'3" MH. Will be my dedicated Texas Rig!
  4. I try and order all my jigs with them. The ones that don't come with them, I add them to. I have some really dirty waters here in Central Oklahoma so anything I can do to give me that edge I do.
  5. Colors look great. The menance would look good on a NS jig
  6. They are closing out of certain colors. They drop the price big time to make room. On the bomber cranks, they said Bomber discontinued the color.
  7. Everyone will have a different opinion but for me I use a total of 6: Top water rig Pitching rig Texas rig for heavier weights Cranking rig Light jig light Texas rig Spinnging rod for light weight plastics or drop shot. It may be overkill but works well for me
  8. I went back again today. Found zoom worms like the Rage anaconda's in 10 packs for 48 cents. Found the "bait" brand senkos in about 10 different colors for 48 cents a pack too. Also found about 12 packs of green pumpkin with gold and black flake 3.5" Stike King tubes for 12 cents a 6 pack. These are the coffee sent and heavy salt. By god if your into fly fishing, there is flys line etc dirt cheap there too.
  9. Thanks for the review. One thing I really like about this place is the reviews.
  10. If your looking for mono with the hodini power of fluoro give the co-ploymers a try. The Yozri gets rave reviews here. No one stocks it locally, even my Bass Pro, so I haven't gotten a chance to use it. I did buy some P-line fluoroclear in 12# to test as a buddy wants a review on it.
  11. I loose to much braid when I use the palomar knot. I really really like the improved clinch knot for braid. After I tie and before I cut the tag line, I wrap the line around my hand 3-4 times and pull like a sumbuck. It will cinch down some. I cut the tag with a 1/4" left and have no problems. I got hung up a few times on a lake yesterday pitching into some ugly nasty cover. Each time i straightened the hook and was able to save my jigs. I did retie each time cause common sense told me to, but the tag was still 1/4" long.
  12. I found a seller on eBay that has the Veritas series for 79.99 with free shipping. He ships them in a huge PVC pipe. One of the ones I bought was the 7' medium with micro guides. I couldn't have been happier. I think it's the best and most true medium I have ever had. I loved it so much I have bought 3 more from him. They also provide a true receipt if you wanted warranty work or the free hoodie. To answer your question, I use my medium for mainly top water. Poppers, small jerk baits. Until I can afford another medium setup, I also use it for up to 5" swim baits with 1/8 hooks, larger senkos, larger jitterbugs. I was using it for smaller jigs and Texas rigs but it just seemed to much for the tip. I moved up to a 7' MH fast tip and am very happy.
  13. Agree 100% with the above. Only problem I ran into with spooling line was either using too much or too little. There should be 1/16-1/8" of spool left after you spool up. Too much and the line can come off to fast. Too little and it affects distance.
  14. What application will the line be used for? If you do a search there is a ton or recommendations for fluorocarbon lines. Bass Pro XPS and Seaguar Abrazix and Invizx are my favorites. No matter what you get it will have memory so make sure to use some line conditioner on it.
  15. Thanks guys. I have the STX now and 7'11" Heavy rod coming so I will make that my pitching and jig rod and wait for the S to come out.
  16. I have a Revo STX in 7.1:1 and am thinking about pre ordering one of the new Revo S models. Which reel would make a better top water/light swim bait/weightless plastics reel? And which would make a better Jig/Texas rig reel? I have rods for both all ready but just wondering which would make the better reel for the tech. Thanks in advance
  17. I just spooled a new reel with 30# 832 last light. Fished it this morning along side 2 different set ups using #50. Kinda windy this morning. My 30# didn't catch near as much wind as my 50# did. I love the smaller pound.
  18. I myself like Suffix 832. Its smoother that standard Power Pro and makes less noise comming throught the guides. They are both around the same cost.
  19. I run 15# pound on my spinning rod. Its a 7' Medium. With appox 15-20 pound break strength. 15 is like 4 pound mono. Not sure about 20 but it cant be any larger than 6 pound mono. Id say it will be fine. I really wouldn't go any higher then 20 though.
  20. Drop shot. You don't have to move the bait forward to get action. Plus drop shot is cheaper and I think a hellova lot eaiser to rig
  21. What ever braid you get, make sure its smooth. PP is like running a chain saw blade through my guides.
  22. Alot is marketing too. Abu makes some lower end stuff too and stocks it at Walmart but there advertising is great. Ive never seen a commercial for Pinnacle
  23. Take some free advise that I went through when I got back into fishing BC's. Spend some time testing, reading etc etc with rods and reels. Be patient and wait for a killer deal. If you grab the first thing you see or get something because it's über cheap, it will just discourage you. I have been patiently waiting for a Revo S to pop up here cheap. I snagged a super deal on a Revo STX and a C3 both like new for 107 dollars. I will sell the C3 and probably be in the Revo STX for around 40-50 bucks. Patients pays off. Onto your one rod. I really like the Berkley Lighting Shock rod. Light, strong, split cork grip, 40% exposed reel seat, fast tip and plenty of backbone. Another big plus is the 40 dollar price tag. That being said, if you have the money. I have fallen in love with my Abu Garcia Veritas. I love it so much I bought 2 more and have plans for 3 more after that. Same features as the Shock rod, but fully exposed reel seat and super light. I can't get enough of this rod.
  24. Im gonna have freggin nightmares now. I still hate dolls and give me creeps from those movies.
