  1. those are nice makes me want to move to Fla..(and yes I would move somewhere based on the bass and how long the fishing season is...wife on the other hand......lol)
  2. I agree with the squarebilled...we have been soft plastic guys for the most part but this spring started throwing crawfish colored squaredbilled cranks and they started hitting them and haven't stopped all year...we seem to get bigger fish on the crawfish colored cranks ...the fish to the left came on a Strike King KVD 2.5 crank
  3. I would say a mix "The Trophy Hunter it is a private lake with big bass in it so thats the interests......we don't target the crappie...gill's ....catfish....or anything else but the big bass...we are looking at adding some rainbow trout...to help produce trophy bass... Natural....that is me Journalist We do worry about what we will get since we have a streak going of getting a bass everytime but once this year..(and I lost a 5 pounder) we do take pics..but only post the fish 4 pounds and up... Alan
  4. that is the reason I would like to live in Fla that is some bass...
  5. that would hurt i didn't get this fish that close I was cating pretty far out off a point on this island when I got him. I think he was 11 to 13 pounds in that range based on what we have got this year. My brother lost a bass in the 8 pound range 2 weeks in a row same bait same tree fish jumped both times and spit it out...the only thing ot make you feel better is to get a big one in the boat...I want to go back out this evening but also want to watch a few football games so we will see.
  6. Me and my brother went out on the lake today we have fished a TON since March and have never gone without a fish....We started fishing al the spots and nothing no fish we are thinking here we go this is the day we strike out....we stopped to fish one island on the way in as a last ditch effort it is now almost dark....my brother gets a little one so we get our fish....ok good...then he gets another...then I get a decent one.....then it happens...I have got 10.5 ..and a number of 6 to 8 fish out of this lake never broken off......I"m using a 7 foot heavy crank bait rod with 14 pound test...I throw a strike king KVD off a point and I think I'm hooked on a rock...then it moves when I crank and I think it is a big log...then as I figure out it is a fish it comes jumping out of the water....it dives back down and it will not move feels like a big catfish but we saw it....I take the boat towards him and he keeps diving down and then SNAP...the line comes flying out of the water...I said...oh darn....the biggest fish I have ever had on in here by far....but it hurts...after that my brother does get a good one about 4....all this happens in about 15 to 20 min.....
  7. I had been catching fish 7 t0 10 but nothing over 15 inches the last month...I went out with my cousin tonight and went back to the crawfish colored strike king KVD crankbait and it produced fish and I got one 3 pounds so I'm wondering if the bigger bass are going to stat to turn back on as the water cools. the square bill crawfish baits seem to make a real difference here in the size of the fish for some reason. alan
  8. I am lucky and live on a 100 acre private lake it does have far more big bass in it then any lake in this state. I still have to find them and hook then I love fishing it and also have a place on a large public lake and it isn't close...living on the lake is also a big advantage you know where to go I have a few spots that hold fish 9 out of 10 times.
  9. Nice fish I hate catching big ones and not having anyone to take the pics.
  10. I had been catching a lot of bass in the 2 to 4 feet of water even with water temp 90 degrees. The lake has a lot of fish over 5 pounds up to 10 I thought maybe the bigger fish were deeper pushing the smaller fish (less then 3) to the surface so I threw a 6 to 8 ft crankbaits tonight got 11 in 2.5 hours but nothing big so going to put on something that runs 10 feet tomorrow and see if I can get some bigger fish..
  11. I got 4 today in a hour nothing over 2 pounds....we got 11 on friday a few nice ones..
  12. I fish it some the rocky point area.
  13. How is everyone in Indiana doing fishing in the hot weather?
  14. I went out again this evening the water was just above 90....I could only fish for a hour and could just fish one of my spots..(swimmers..jet skis..etc) got one about 1 3/4 lost one about same size lost one about 5 pounds near the boat....
  15. We were going to fish this evening but the air was 98 degrees and jet skis and ski boats were on the lake so we stood on the dock for about 10 min thinking about it then I said we can go around and hit the shoreline and see...I threw a kvd strike king crawfish colored the fish were right on the rocks and points and feeding like it was spring we fishes for 2 hours and got 14 fish total a 4.1 4 and several in the 2 to 3 range. When we got off the water the air was still 94....
  16. There is a private lake across the river from Evansville Indiana that produced a 10 a few weeks ago...it is at a hunting lodge you can pay to fish it...it has f1 tiger bass in it...I haven't fished it just read the reports...Even then a 10 is hard to get but at least have a shot..I
  17. I fish 3 or 4 times a week I am lucky to live on the lake...sometimes I will go down and fish a hour or so in some spots I know hold bass but most of the time we are out 4 hours or so..
  18. I am lucky I live on a private lake that of lakes 100 acres or bigger I really think would measure up as the best bass lake in the midwest...on this lake we have got over 25 bass over 4 pounds since March...I did have 1 day where no matter what just wouldn't bite was out 5 hours lost one about 5 pounds and no other strikes...On this lake in 90 degree temps we have got 14 plus bass in 4 hours. I also fish a large public lake in northern Indiana a lot and on this lake I have gone days with just a bite or 2 so to a large degree it depends on the lake. I also think the focus and how hard you fish is important we are much more focused and ready on my lake then the public lake I think that does make a difference. Like others said I do change it up I was out a few days ago for a hour or so and couldn't buy a bite on soft plastic and then changed over to a crankbait and got a lot of action.
  19. Thanks I skipped out on painting the deck for a hour and 1/2 when my cousin came over last night. He got one this size and lost 2 bigger...that is the thing I don't like about the bandits the hooks aren't as big as the strike king kvd baits.
  20. We started at 8:30 so it was still evening here when we started. They seemed to really turn on around 9:00pm though most of the fish were off rocks and would either hit at the rocks or follow it to the boat it seemed like and hit right at the boat....the big one came at the mouth of a channel that flows in in about 2 feet of water. We had thrown soft plastic on Sunday for the first hour and couldn't buy a strike so I switched back to a bait and pattern that produced lots of big fish in the spring and that has been the ticket the last few days. 21. I had a cousin stop by so we went down to the lake fished for a hour and 20 min. We got 12 bass he got a 4 pounder and lost one a lot bigger and one bigger. Most of the bass came on a bandit 200 crankbait crawfish color. I was throwing a deeper crankbait bluegill colors got a few but the bandit was the domInate bait (I was down to one)...talked to another boat that got a 5 and 4 last night and today...it was 94 here today so not bad.. Alan
  22. Central Indiana fishing the lakes up north also.
  23. I went out yesterday after the rain cooled things down some.(had a few days over 100) and threw a zoom brush hawg for about 4 hours got 4 bass nothing to big got one about 3.5. Today we went out and started fishing treeline with no bites so i changed up and put a bandit 200 crawfish color on and fished a rocky point and got 3 bass in 5 min 2 in the 14 to 15 in range. We then started working some rocks and got some fish and I got a nice one 4.6 poounds. We ended up with 10 bass and lost 3 decent fish not a bad day since it was 90 by the time we got off the water at 11.
  24. I am from central Indianan. I live on a 100 acre private lake that produces a lot of nice bass. I also fish Lake Tippi a lot. Always love to talk BASS fishing.
