So I was looking at Walmart tonight at the clearence section and saw a few of these spinning reels..I was curious if anyone here had used then much..I seen on the Internet they were regular 60-80$ and Walmart had them clearence for 20$...I mostly use baitcasters but I have been wanting a decent spinning reel for a little bit too..I'm curious please enlightened me on these cause I'm debating on whether I should go back out there thanks..I have a a cumara spinning rod I got at a flea market not too long ago that doesn't get much use..

I have never used this but the commercials look tempting..I'm not a huge fan of powerbait but I may give these a try in the spring..looking for some opinions for those who have thanks.

The 3 inch are the only thing I've caught fish on lately..been really slow caught 8 yesterday on those..you should put them near the bottom and a slow retrieve ..

I've heard some people say something about putting a mono under it on the reel spool..I've never heard I this could have to do with the slick part?

I mostly use 12 and 8 pds test in all the diff types of line I use..and I noticed fireline says 12 pd is like 3 pd diamater..

So I've had some people tell me about how good fireline is but I don't quite understand what line it is..I use mono braid and flouro on my rods for diff types of fishing..but I keep hearing fireline is a superline ..basically educate me on it if you can thanks and I don't get the test either..is it worth trying on some of my spinning reels ? I mostly fish ponds thanks

Okay my last two trips I've used 3 inch storm minnows the ones that a silver with red under there chin.. I swim them close to bottom and slow..I've slammed them last two trips after having no luck this winter so far..I had to go back to store today not because they were torn up but I kept getting them hung up and losing them..give them a try finally found some winter magic..and it's just been the 3 inch too nothing on the other sizes..

Well I was having the same problem..and a buddy of mine told me he fished nothing but small baits. Like 2 inch grubs and little crappie tubeson a beetle spin...I've been using storm 2 and 3 inch minnows and doing decent..well a lot better than I was but its still slow..winter is just a slow time for fishing..they just aren't as active in the cold months.

I'm actually debating on setting up a tiny bag with a decent variety for my winter fishing..there's all sorts of tackle I don't even use in the winter and maybe packing less rods..I could honestly use a small bag and two rods..instead of packing a suitcase and 4-5 rods to the ponds

I bought the new kvd bag and its very nice and it's huge..now I have only had it a few weeks and I mostly fish ponds..it's very heavy packing it around so it's kinda all preference I guess ..I thought about making up a tiny bag for just what I'm gonna fish on that day for the rest of winter..but a great bag best I've ever had

So today I picked up a couple packs of these gulp 3 inch smelt minnows..I haven't used them before but I've heard good things..I got them dirt cheap on clearence..what are some good ways to fish them? Beetlespin and dropshot? I don't really use the dropshot much..

Okay I've fished bass jigs for a long time now..mostly football jigs with good success..quick question I fish them all with the hook pointed down except for swimjigs I point them up.. Have I been fishing football jigs wrong all this time? I've hooked up with plenty of fish with my hook pointed down .

I seen some black and blue ones the other day at dicks for like 2$ on sale..wished I would have bought them.

Probably the rage craw Texas rigged and I've been doing okay with The space monkey as a trailer on a jig..sounds like it should be the other way around but it's working for me atm .

I posted above about rigging for the next trip..well I rigged up a Carolina creature bait rig and 4 other poles with crankbaits of diff colors but not that confident in them since I've had no luck..everything I use and do well with hasn't been working..I did rig up a crappie pole too because I haven't tried to crappie fish it since I'm pretty much just a bass fisherman..

So I started fishing this big watershed lately and I've had no luck..the water is a murky brown color and its very deep in parts..I've fished it on foot and in a small Jon boat..I've given the fish all my go to baits and then some and no fish..not even a nibble and I've been all over it..I've use spinners ,flukes ,squarebill crankbaits ,Texas rigging free floating, everything from rage tail craws from worms of diff colors and lizards..plus I've wacky rigged senkos.I've even flipped creature baits into brush and trees..I've given them every opportunity to get it but nothing after 3 trips..I'm not sure what else to do..now the water is a totally diff color than what I normally fish and the temps been down around 50 in The mornings when I've been fishing lately..I've been 3 times and I always stay for around 3 hours or so each trip and still nothing..I met a guy out there the other day and he told me he always done well out there but he uses live bait no luck on lures..I've been told by many diff people that there have been monster bass, catfish and crappie pulled out of it..so I'm trying to decide what else to do at this point? I re rigged all of my gear tonight for my trip back this weekend..any suggestions would be great..I usually do well fishing everywhere else but I'm stumped with this one..looking for suggestions..thanks in advance and I don't use live bait or night crawlers..should I?

Lately I've been using the bluegill squarebill kvd 1.5 and its been working great..I just wanted to let everyone know so that they can try it out..I just purchased the 2.5 squarebill too..looking forward to trying it out..wanted to give everyone a heads up since I get so much advise from others on here.. Another thing temps are around 50-60 here At the moment.

I've been using a sexy shad swimjig lately with a chartreuse pearl zoom grub with no luck..keep it up and I'd say 3-4 pds
