  1. Edit-in light of a recent purchase to catch a fish on my first big swimbait. An 8inch savage gear line thru trout Tight lines Andrew
  2. I use 10# and am now going to 8#. its all personal preference. the 20 should work no problem though tight lines Andew
  3. Well so far green has won so far with no sign of any other color catching up lol. keep them coming Tight lines Andrew
  4. I absolutely love my rages tight lines Andrew
  5. Look up sunline fx2 I know they have a blue color I have green mostly and am now switching over to red becuase I got a good deal on it. Not to mention it looks cool on my Revo sx 30'lol Tight lines Andrew
  6. Abu Garcia veritas 30 dollars BPS PQ 47 dollars combo total 77 dollars that moment when a 5 pounder demolishes a swimbait priceless lol Tight lines Andrew
  7. That would be something I would be willing to try lol Tight lines Andrew
  8. Nice rack but man what an awesome set of combos I am jealous haha we built one similar to that Tight lines Andrew
  9. Just searched and nothing seemed to pop up so anyway, what is the color you use the most. Can choose more than one. Vote and leave a reason why Tight lines Andrew
  10. IT says it should be here Monday for me. The suspense is killing me lol Tight lines Andrew
  11. We built ours. Much cheaper and better quality than a store bought Tight lines Andrew
  12. Just waiting on the *** order to come in stupid bait monkey convinced me to take the plunge and buy my first 8inch swimbait that savage gear looked so good lol
  13. My Dropshot Rod is a St croix ml xfast 6'8 or 6'10 rage. Absolutely love the rod super sensitive I would look up the mojo bass Dropshot rod. St Croix is generally pretty good with the actions of their technique specific lines. Some people may disagree with me. As Sam said wait for a decent sale and look at the suggestions here. Awesome deals do happen. I found a ST Croix LTB brand new with warrenty for 120 bucks. You just have to keep watch and find the right deal on the right Rod for you. Tight lines Andrew
  14. Whatever I can get a decent deal on I have gammys, owners, mustads, Vmc's, trokar's and BPS. All of them are good hooks. By the way does anyone know who makes the BPS hooks? Tight lines Andrew
  15. Catch a pig on a jig start finding the bigger fish rather than the small ones. And fish more ( I know that that won't happen since I'm going to lose my summer)
  16. So it should be worth putting the 6 inch plate on?
  17. We have never had it above sixty before. We don't have a jsck plate on it currently becuase it will no longer fit into the garage if we put It on. The main question is what could be causing the rpms to be so low? The motor should be turning at least 5500 rpms and I wonder if that could be half the speed related problem not to mention the boat chimes really bad on glass calm water Tight lines Andrew
  18. We currently have a 89 Yammy 150 pro v that will only turn 5200 rpm with a 23p mercury trophy which we got to replace our 25p yamaha which the motor would only turn 4700 with. It's on a 1999 Stratos 273 vindicator which is almost a 70 mph boat if set up right but we can't get ours up over 60. Could our hotfoot not be wide open when pushed to the floor? Or could it be a prop issue? Tight lines Andrew
  19. Trust me they still get hung even in places you wouldn't think you would get hung you get hung its just one of those things Tight lines Andrew
  20. Last time I was out was the day of the Anna Cup on Nov 2nd. A lot of guys caught the cranking up in the north anna arm up by Christopher run and tims Ive concentrated my efforts more down lake fishing deep water with shallow close by. MY Dad was out today in the Veterans day tourney and he lost one on a crank bait the winning weight was 16 pounds i believe so somebody must have been catching them good. Check Va outdoors a guy on the forum posts very detailed reports on the lake. check in there. tight lines Andrew
  21. The constant movement would throw off more water then the stop and go retrieve and bass can see in muddy water better than we give them credit for(in my opinion) it all depends on what the fish want that day. If I got bites swimming the worm I would probably have switched to a crankbait in like a chartreuse craw and really get them going as this time of year they're chasing bait pretty good Tight lines Andrew
  22. First welcome to the forums and second, How long had the motor been sitting when you bought it? Did you test drive before you bought it? Tight lines Andrew
  23. If your dead set on getting a quality rain suit look for a used set on places like the flea market on various sites like this one thats where I got my pair of 100 mph bibs in awesome shape and cheap for what they normally run. tight lines Andrew
  24. trolling motor it up the best you can then use he winch on the trailer to pull it on the rest of the way most of the time your gonna get wet and there is always some muscle involved. its really just trail and error to figure out what works best for you tight lines Andrew
  25. Dropshot became my favorite this year and I don't ever not have it on the deck when fishing it's become a confidence thing. Especially when a 3# just taps it ever so slightly then proceeds to try and rip the rod out of your hands when trying to get him away from the cover lol followed by crankbaits man I love those things Tight lines Andrew
